Chang Beer

2004 to Present

Chang Beer is Thailand's biggest brewer, in July 2004, Everton struck up a one year sponsorship deal with Chang worth £1.5m.

The deal was the first time a Thai product has sponsored an English football team shirt. Chang Beer sent Everton three young football hopefuls as part of the deal aswell.

In the summer of 205, Everton decided to extend thier deal with Chang. The club confirmed the most lucrative sponsorship deal in the club's history after agreeing a three-year extension. The three year deal is worth around £6m and as part of the extension Everton were given three more football hopefuls.

The extended sponsorship agreement with one of the biggest drinks firms in Asia provides the opportunity to develop the Everton brand over there.

Kejian

2002 to 2004

Chinese Electronics firm Kejian took over the sponsorship after One2One. It was the first step in Everton's attempt to break into the Asian market. As part of the 2 year deal, Everton got around £2.5m plus Chinese international defender Li Weifeng. Kejian also sponsored Chinese midfielder Li Tie's contract with Everton.

Kejian used its Everton ties to promote its brand in China, where Premier League games attract huge audiences. Anything from 100 million to 360 million people are likely to watch a game.

One2One

1997 to 2002

The "multi-national company" that took over from NEC was mobile phone operator One2One. A three year deal was agreed which was later extended by a further two.

DANKA

1995 to 1997

Danka, a company which produced office equipment, signed a £4million contract in 1995 to become the club's main sponsors.

The contract allowed for a break with the club after two years. Danka, at the end of the 1997 season, decided to part company with Everton and focus on the sponsorship of Damon Hill's new Formula One team, TWR Arrows.

At the time, Everton's commercial director Clifford Finch said: "It may be a blessing in disguise. When we negotiated the contract two years ago, football was not at that time as desirable a vehicle as it is now.

"We have already had half-a-dozen multi-national companies showing interest in taking Danka's place."

"They have decided that football does not provide the exposure that they were looking for. It certainly has nothing to do with Andrei Kanchelskis going, as some people have tried to imply, because the club knew of Danka's impending decision before Andrei went," added Finch.

"I have received a letter from their chairman, Martin St Quinton, saying that Danka believe they couldn't have been treated any better than they have been by Everton."

NEC

1987 to 1995

The NEC corporation is a multi-national IT company headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo, Japan. The company produces IT Solutions, Network Solutions and Electron Devices.

Proud achievements of NEC include the discovery of carbon nanotube by Sumio Iijima, and the creation of the Earth Simulator, the fastest supercomputer in the world at the time.

During the time in which they sponsored the club, Everton only managed to win one major honour, The FA Cup in 1995.
