Rumour: Donovan bid accepted

Sources are indicating that the MLS have accepted a bid from Everton for Landon Donovan, and that the player now just has to agree personal terms with the club.

This rumour comes on the back of statements earlier today from Donovan that he wants to come back to Everton.

He said: “I would love to go back to Everton. I love the people there and I love the fans there. But that said, I love being in America too, so we are going to take everything into account and see where it ends up.

“Anything is possible at this stage and I’m going to make the decision that’s best for me. We hear little bits and pieces here and there and there have certainly been clubs that are interested, but right now, it’s only preliminary.

“There’s still a lot of time left in the transfer window, so we’ll see what moves are made and, if it’s serious, then we’ll treat it seriously.”

As with all rumours at this time of year we await more official word, but signing Donovan would put the icing on the cake this summer.
