Cahill is Everton’s biggest threat

As part of a new series that we haven’t thought of a name for yet, we spoke to Blackburn Rovers fan @Ste_Bolton about their visit to Goodison Park on Saturday.

Hi Ste, how has your season been so far?
Not good, we’ve been unlucky with the results but we’ve not been playing too well either. I really can’t say if we’re going to get relegated or not, after this weekends result it’s been a massive boost and hopefully we can really kick on now.

What do you think Everton‘s season has been like so far?
Not too bad, you’ve played well, and not so well! You really need a goal scorer if you’re ever going to get higher up the league. You are a consistent mid table team and have a brilliant manager so there is always positives.

Both clubs have faced supporters’ protests, what do you make of the protests at Everton?
Yours were different to ours, yours is because of the lack of money which is understandable but you’ve got a great manager like I’ve said and have no real issues compared to us!

Should we be careful what we wish for in new owners?
Yes, definitely. It can all seem brilliant getting some very rich people buying your club but as we’ve found out it’s not all as it seems.

How would you compare our two managers?
I don’t know where to start! I’ve always had a high opinion of David Moyes because he signs good player for cheap and then still doesn’t have to spend but always gets the best out of players, and they play for him. Whereas  Steve Kean is out of his depth. I see glimpses of good tactics but for every good one there is 3 negative. Some of the signings he’s made and substitutions in games make me wonder if he knows anything. I’d love to have Moyes in charge!

Who is your key player for our game?
Well now Yakubu is banned, and can’t see Samba playing, I’ll say Hoilett. He’s brilliant on the ball and can change a game.

The Yak has been great for you since he signed, are you worried he’ll do his usual trick of being a one-season wonder?
He might do that, but to be honest if he helps keep us up this season, it doesn’t matter because we need better players if Venky’s and Kean are still delusional still think we are a ‘top 6′ team.

Who do you wish wasn’t playing for Everton against you?
It’s got to be Cahill for me. He’s always been one of the main men for Everton and he’s a real game changer, and he brings life to the team.

Which Everton player would you want Rovers to sign?
Cahill again. I think his playmaking skill would work wonders for us, and I think he’s a good person to build morale.

What are your predictions for the game?
I think I’ll go with 1-1. We can’t keep a clean sheet but with how we’re playing I think we’ll score. It’s a hard place to go so I’d be happy with a point.
