Everton to face Malaga during pre-season
Everton will wrap up their 2012/13 pre-season preparations with a trip to Malaga, the club have confirmed.
Los Boquerones, who are bankrolled by Qatari cash, finished fourth in last season’s La Liga table under former Real Madrid boss Manuel Pellegrini. Boasting household names such as Santi Cazorla and Joaquin the Spanish outfit will provide stern opposition for the Blues ahead of their Premier League opener against Manchester United.
The Toffees last took Malaga on during their pre-season friendly schedule back in 2009, with Louis Saha and Leon Osman netting in a 2-1 win over the Costa Del Sol side at Goodison Park.
Everton’s current pre-season schedule is not fully complete, but the confirmed list of fixtures can be viewed below:
14 July – Morecambe (A) – 2pm
18 July – Dundee United (A) – 7.45pm
21 July – Motherwell (A) – TBC
5 August – Blackpool (A) – 3pm
8 August – AEK Athens (H) – TBC
11 August – Malaga (A) – TBC
