David Moyes has confirmed that club captain Phil Neville will be out of action until the New Year.
The former Manchester United man underwent surgery this week to fix a problem with his knee, and Moyes revealed that he will need up to 8 weeks to recover.
Speaking after a 2-1 defeat away at Reading – just the second Everton defeat of the season – Moyes admitted that he felt his side missed Neville.
He said, “Phil Neville had an operation on his knee and is probably out for six to eight weeks. We missed our senior players today.”
