Everton are locked in contract talks with Luke Garbutt as the 22 year old makes preparations to represent England in the European Championships this month.
Garbutt is out of contract with the Blues at the end of this month, but Everton are desperate for him to sign a new deal to keep him at Goodison Park.
The former Leeds left-back found his opportunities limited, being behind Leighton Baines in the pecking order, but did make a number of appearances in the Europa League and also in the Premier League.
Many Evertonians were left fearing the talented defender would leave the club at the end of the month, but sources close to NSNO tell us that the Blues are in constant communication with Garbutt in a bid to get him to stay with Everton.
Roberto Martinez told Everton fan groups last month that he felt Garbutt was on the right path with Everton in his development into first team regular, and that the ball was in his court.
