Maarten Stekelenburg

Blues complete Stekelenburg signing

maartenstekelenburgRonald Koeman has made Maarten Stekelenburg his first signing as Everton manager as the 33 year old signs from Fulham on a three year deal.

The Dutch stopper worked with Koeman at Southampton last season when he was at St Mary’s on loan and played 17 times, one of which being on the end of a 3-0 drubbing by Everton.

Earlier in his career Stekelenburg was the number one Dutch keeper, but has not been capped since playing in all three of the Dutch side’s 2012 European Championships campaign in which they finished bottom of their group.

Koeman is believed to be in the market for another stopper as first choice, which could see the end of Joel Robles’ career at Everton.
