It was reported at the weekend that Everton had seen a bid of £10m accepted by the Swans, but then rebuffed in the local media as no bid having been made. Now, it seems, a bid has been made and accepted as Swansea seek to cash in on a 32 year old with two years left on his deal.
Williams, a solid centre half with a no-nonsense approach to the game, is a popular figure among Swansea fans, but it is believed the bid from Ronald Koeman was too much to turn down for the South Wales club who are partly owned by their supporters.
The 32 year old led his country to the semi finals of the forgettable Euro 2016 competition this summer, and it is believed that a bid from Everton has tempted him away from Swansea where Liverpool and Crystal Palace have failed in the past.
