The Dutchman tried to sign Depay for Southampton before the 22 year old signed for Manchester United, but will now rekindle his interest after Depay was shunned by Jose Mourinho.
Depay first jumped onto everyone’s radar when he became the youngest Dutchman to score at a World Cup when he netted against Australia in the 2014 tournament in Brazil.
Now, Koeman wants to bring the young forward to Goodison Park in the hope that it will re-ignite his career which has stalled somewhat at United.
He said: “I would like to have him.
“I think he is an interesting player. He has great individual qualities. He just needs to play games.”
