Article	It's turning into another one of those long, arduous summers of conjecture and speculation that seems to go round in endless circles and will probably only really stop at midnight on 31st August. We hate ourselves for following ridiculous NewsNow links about players we've never heard of or couldn't possibly afford and for just a few seconds, wonder if it's really true. It's the same on NSNO...you see a new thread entitled 'done deal' or 'breaking news' and you're all over it like a fat kid locked in a McDonalds kitchen overnight. Then we get to read about some stunningly tenuous links that are pure entertainment in themselves...my mate's cousin's uncle's brother is the groundsmen at Finch Farm...my sister's boyfriend's dad's gerbil trainer's missus is a loose associate of someone who know's Bungalow Bill's P.A....that sort of thing. Now and then though, some of the stories won't go away. That's either because as Evertonians we're perpetuating them or because there's some element of truth there. And that's how you seperate the Moutinho from the Dickov. All will come out in the wash sooner or later, but I honestly believe that the Micheal Owen deal was hijacked from under Davie's nose by Whiskey Face at the 11th hour only because Sir Alex suddenly realised that if Moyes was ready to take a plunge on Owen, then he must be worth a dabble even for the champions of England. I honestly believe Owen was ready to come to Goodison even though plenty of critics on these very pages were hanging him out to dry before he's even signed. Proof, of course, will be in the pudding, but if the Manc gamble proves to be inspired, DM's judgement on transfers again needs to be applauded even though this one didn't quite happen... It's often stated that Moyes has one of the best transfer records in British football so we should just trust him to continue to pull deals from nowhere out of the fire? The following list is just a matter of opinion and open for debate. But Moyesy has signed 11 complete mutts but more than made up for that with 13 fantastic signings who on the whole are or were worth far more after signing for Everton than they were before they came. This is the football equivalent of turning water into wine which makes David Moyes the modern day Jesus Christ. Stop dreaming and keep hoping. Just don't tell me about your doctor's brother's nephew who's girlfriends mum works as cabin crew out of JLA and swears she saw David Moyes shaking hands with Frank Ribery as he got off a flight from France!
