Article	The future of David Moyes has been a topic of fierce debate among Evertonians this summer, with most hoping and desperately believing that the Glaswegian see’s his future at Goodison Park. Most would agree that whilst David Moyes has proved the catalyst for Everton’s recent success, he is, by no means, irreplaceable. The Scotsman, upon arrival, not only lifted a downhearted, dispirited and frankly downbeat band of supporters, but reignited the spark of pride within Evertonians up and down the country, and, undoubtedly across the world. He had given us more than pride, but hope, belief and faith back in our side. He had supplied the team with a fresh impetus, a welcome change from the dour, dull “football” that had preceded it. Yet his résumé is not immaculate, far from it, and the question I pose is where would Moyes go if the unlikely occurs and he opts to walk? Now Moyes has undeniably gained esteem for his accomplishments at Everton, within football and the media in particular, but would he find a bigger, club than Everton FC? You could argue that Moyes harbours the ambition to manage Celtic, fair cop, he’s supported them all his life. But is that a bigger job than Everton, will it gain him the respect and adulation he would obtain by winning something at Goodison Park? No it most certainly wouldn’t. Evertonians have been patient with David Moyes, Bill Kenwright has been patient with David Moyes, and for that he should be grateful, very grateful. Our chairman has been accused of a lot of things, some justified, some unfounded but the loyalty he has shown to Moyes can only be applauded. While we as supporters tend to agree that “nobody could blame Moyes if he walked”, I feel it would be a dreadful betrayal, to the fans in particular who, unquestionably at times, have kept Moyes in a job. David Moyes knows this, it is obvious that the Everton fans could make him, just as easily as they could break him. Understandably, Moyes is frustrated and who wouldn’t be, but what other managers have had the opportunity to build, groom and mould a side over six years? Not many would be the answer. Now I don’t see Moyes walking out any time soon, it would be foolhardy to say the least. But there is no need for Everton fans to get paranoid if the improbable occurs, Everton will be here long after David Moyes, long after Bill Kenwright and his gang of merry men. Although Moyes’ blunt and brassy recent media approach is cause for concern, the man is far from stupid, and knows that he will find it arduous to find a bigger job, or club, than Everton. So don’t despair, David Moyes will not be going anywhere soon, of that I have no doubt. A bulging, relentless, success seeking nature he may have - which can only be applauded - but Moyes needs to sign his new contract, steady the ship and attain his goals and ambitions at the club with the supporters who, despite his somewhat limitations, continue to sing his name week in, week out. I trust you appreciate that, David.
