Everton are reportedly watching Sheffield United's 20 year old right-sided defender Kyle Naughton.

The defender can also operate on the right side of midfield and his performances for United have seen him receive an England Under 21 call up this season.

With Phil Neville getting on a bit, and Tony Hibbert falling victim of the Gwladys Street, Naughton could be a welcome addition in January.
Yakubu Aiyegbeni was on the losing side for Nigeria last night, going down 1-0 to Colombia in an International friendly.

River Plate striker Falcao struck the only goal of the game. The Yak was withdrawn during the second half.

Article

And so the day is upon us again , wether you be blue or red , today is the day that when you were growing up you most looked forward to, and despised in equal measure.

What are your preparations for the day , do you get out your lucky pants /socks/jumper whatever it may be , do you walk round in a nervous sweat , do you act all calm when really your whole being is in complete turmoil , or do you just take it in your stride . Personally I have no fingernails left by kick off but each to thier own eh!! .

Could we be the only city in the world that regardless of what the media like to portray , have this type of derby match , we obviously have some who will never be assosciated with togetherness , and friendship , but where in the world would you see a pub / house / stadium full of supporters who pretty much all get on with each other , and have banter wich is seconded by not one other supporting group in this country at least . I have read many things in the last few days , concernig the "Friendly Derby" and it dismays me to see some of the comments that have been made toward such articles .

The history of this derby reads like a love story from an american film director , seriously think about every mushy film you have had to sit through with your other half, it all starts of a little tentative each weighing each other up , becoming closer and closer , then getting the harmony and happiness that they have been aiming for , then you get the stupid break up part and they won't talk to or even look at each other , then something happens and they come together as one and pull each other through the bad times that has befell them, and there is still that element of doubt for both parties, then it all comes good in the end and they walk off into the sunset arm in arm , looking into each others eyes lovingly .

Now I know for a fact that both sets of support from this great city , will never in a month of sunday's reach the finale of this analagy , but I do think we have had the rest of it and we are on the break up part at the minute , in times of crisis this city will always come together , and pull each other through it .

I am of an age , from when I can remember travelling to wembley to watch the both teams , and singing merseyside and are you watching manchester, and would love it to get back to those days again , showing people from around the world that this is how you do it , this is how to support your team , this is what it is like to come from a city like Liverpool , I remember the devastation of Hillsborough and what this city again showed the world what it was like to be from here, we are all the same type of people all in all , and we can never get away from that fact , there will always be the deluded idiot trying to be controversial and sitting behind a keyboard abusing people who try to put a constructive piece or article , but we love our football we love our teams and we love our city .

Be you blue or be you red , I hope today you find it in heart to let it be about football and nothing else .
