Leighton Baines, John Heitinga and Darron Gibson have already been named in their nation’s squads, and Nikica Jelavic is widely expected to be joining them in Poland and Ukraine next month, and NSNO will be following their progress every step of the way.

Seamus Coleman and Phil Jagielka are also in with a shout of travelling, after being named on the reserve list for Ireland and England respectively, so it could be a busy summer for Everton’s international Blues.

Gibson has already joined up with his teammates ahead of the tournament, and Baines is waiting to join the England camp this week as they take on Norway in a warm-up game before the Euro 2012 action in 18 days’ time. Heitinga has also headed out to Switzerland with Holland ahead of their group games.

As the build-up to the tournament continues, we’ll be looking back at some of Everton’s stars of previous tournaments as we continue to unveil new features to the site over the summer.

Former Liverpool defender Steve Nicol believes David Moyes is the right man to take over at Anfield.

The Everton boss has been talked about in the media over the past week as a possible replacement for sacked Kenny Dalglish, with Nicol adding his weight to the clamour for success at any cost.

“I would have no problem with David Moyes,” said the former Anfield man. ”He’s a fantastic manager.

“We talk about having the tools to do the job, and here’s a guy who’s had to work with blunt instruments, shall we say, and every year he keeps doing it.

“I would have no problem with him getting the job.

“You can’t walk into Liverpool as an apprentice, so to speak. Roberto Martinez and Brendan Rodgers have had good years, but that’s all it is. There’s a big difference between staying in the Premier League and looking to pick up points here and there, and being expected to pick up three points wherever you go.

“It’s a different ball game and I hope it’s an experienced manager with a proven track record.”

The coach says that Pienaar has shown a real upturn in form since moving back to Everton on loan, and that he had warned the diminutive midfielder that his form would suffer if he went to Spurs.

“I told him before he left that I understand the financial benefits of moving to Spurs, the prospects of Champions League football and the overall status and chances of success playing for a big team,” said Mosimane.

“It’s not for me to decide as I’m not his agent. But it’ll be good for football, good for Bafana and for himself that he stays at Everton.”

The 32 year old has has become part of the furniture at Goodison Park since signing from Millwall in 2004, but rumours say Everton could be tempted to cash in on the Australian forward.

The Riyadh-based side are apparently prepared to pay “big money” to secure Cahill’s services, and at 32, any offer of real money would be hard for Everton to resist.

While Phil has continued playing, brother Gary has been winning fans over with his honest opinion as pundit on Sky Sports.

“I think it’s a clever move,” said the Everton captain. ”You’ve got someone there who has played in five major tournaments and who has played with every one of the squad with the exception of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

“But as well as that he’s had a year working with Sky, away from players, and he’s got that little bit of distance.

“He is well respected and I think he has won a lot of people over with his honesty and his thoughts on the game.

“Roy has gone for somebody who won’t be a yes man, it’s somebody who will challenge him and I think it is a master stroke.”
