I think he will do well, the earlier he gets a goal the better. Low expectation, little to lose, he's a different option to what we have. Leeds fans have moved on a year from where we are with the Pienaar situation, their judgement may be biased.

He'll be another Marcus Bent imo. There's a reason why he's not played at thetop level yet. FFS.

Shit.  I hope he doesn't take us to the Champions league as well then.

As a reserve striker on a free I think ti is a good shout. He has a bit of pace and can finish, it is certainly something we have lacked this season. Plus Moyes has a knack of getting the best out of lower league players so lets wait and see. We aren't City so squad players on free transfers is the best we can hope for at the minute

No big risk and given how cash strapped we are - why not?

Ian Wright was still paying Sunday League football until he was nearly 22 and didnt sign for Arsenal until he was 28.

It tastes good, if it benefits the club.

If he was a kid, I wouldn(t be too worried, but he's 26, at his peak.

Ok, it's a free transfer, but I can't help thinking a waste of wages.

Think the Prem will be too much for him.

Yeah, the same reason no-one took a chance on Tim Cahill and Joleon Lescott until Moyes did, and also signed Phil Jagielka from the Championship as well.

Stupid Moyes, always signing players from the lower leagues for little money. A terrible policy that has done the club untold harm over the past 5 years.......

That may well happen. Or it may not, and he may be a success and a bargain buy. Based on Moyes' track record, he deserves faith to be placed into him, surely?

I can't help thinking the Premiership is too much for Victor Anichebe and James Vaughan too.

If Beckford does better than those two, he will have improved us. The bar isn't exactly high for strikers at Everton.

It's not 1985 any more, and he's not replacing Andy Gray and having to keep up with Sharp and Heath in scoring 15-20 goals+ a season.

exactly the bar aint high if he scores only  5 pl goals next seaosn he has done better than the rest of his bench competition have done in previous seasons
