Sent off for defending himself after being attacked by Ajax fan, lol.

Alkmaar players all ordered to leave pitch by their coach.

Good on him. He did give him 2 kicks on the floor but fair play to him and his coach for dragging them off

Are you positive it wasn't a defender?

I think he had gloves on, although it may have been cold?

Didn't a player get sent off not long ago for bringing down a fan running onto the pitch?

Well done to the manager. Good to see someone pointing out how stupid referees can be at times!

It was a cup match between Ajax and AZ.
Ajax were 1-0 up when in the 37th minute some drunken 19 year old ambled through the invalids section, where there is no deep moat, but where no stewards dtopped him either.

He tried to karate kick the AZ keeper Alvarado Esteban, who out of the corner of his eye saw him coming and sidestepped.
The drunk fell on the floor, and the Costa Rican keeper was so incensed, that he kicked him twice.
This the ref saw, and curiously enough, he sent the keeper off.
Which made the keeper even angrier.

The AZ coach then withdrew his team so that the match had to be abadonned.
The coach said his players didn't feel safe.

There are now three options open to the KNVB (Dutch FA)
a) The result stands as it is
b) The remainder of the match is played out
c) The match starts afresh

What will happen is expected to be announced before Christmas.

This came as a big surprise to me as I'd been watching us beat Swansea.

It's just been made known that the red card has been rescinded.

The public opinion over here is similar to what has been stated on this forum.

Didn't know that, but apparantly it was personal I heard, so that explains things.

He was already banned from the stadium, so the next question is how did he get in?

Yeah, some Dutch journo was on talksport, said he was believed to be with the guy's ex. He also mentioned that he was banned from the ground, also where he was sitting would not normally be accessable to the pitch, but for this game they had a stage set up for disabled supporters so he was able to get to the pitch using that. Very much planned out.
