Don't know if anyone else has posted this topic before but was wanted to know what people think of Man City's fanbase compared to ours.
I mean I know they are a fairly big club and keep hearing when they were in the third division they were getting crowds of 28000 but if they were that massive how come they couldn't sell out the Fa cup tie against Man U and only had 37000 for the carling cup semi against Liverpool and they are supposedly doing brilliantly.

I think that rise to the top have caught the fans out in terms of tickets prices.

It's something that would annoy me somewhat if we had an owner who's as rich and as free with his cash as citteh's , paying players up to £1m a month and still charging fans top dollar is just not on .. A player such as Onohua who can't even get a game is on more than our highest paid player .. Not right

They had concessions for the united and lfc games, still couldn't sell out.
If we suddenly became monster great again I wonder if the same would happen.
Though I always think we have always been bigger than them..

Doubt many clubs did have much of a turnout for their Carling or FA Cup games? 37000 sounds pretty good for a Carling Cup game.

its the semi-final and one game from wembley...considering they only won one trophy in 40 years I'd have thought it would have been sold out...

There at that weird point though aren't they were they think there better than the carling cup. They went from being shit to being league contenders, so there trying to pretend it means very little to them to be like United/Chelsea, thing is as well you have to remember they had an FA cup tie then a Carling cup tie quite close together, people dont really haev that kind of disposable income.

I'm not sure how many Liverpool fans went or how many tickets they were given, but it probably sums up the Carling Cup in general. Why should fans be that bothered when the bigger teams aren't that arsed about it.

Given the capacity of the stadium, I still don't think it was a bad turnout and the fact that they had just played their biggest rivals a few days earlier. If fans were to decided one game or the other, it was always going to be the Man Utd game, which had an attendance of 46,000.

Did we sell out our Carling Cup Semi against Chelsea a few years ago? I am not sure but don't remember it being full.
Having to sort out your ticket in advance of cup games can put people off. I know it does me and I think it is an overlooked reason for poor gates at cup games.

Maybe not a sell out but near as damn it , Chelsea never used their full quota

Gone right off City fans.
I posted on their forum for a while but in the end the constant horribleness wore me down. I hope they lose the Prem title in the 95th minute to a Lescott own goal.

On Blue Moon, there were too many dicks. For every decent lad there were 20 idiots. You need a thick skin, that's for sure. The site owner and a few of the mods were ok, but even a few of the mods were tits to be honest. It's ok for a visit but you wouldn't want to live there as they say. Huge attitude on there. Very narcissistic and grandiose. They don't have too many kind words for us lol.
