I saw the thread yesterday, but as I don't want to know the result before I've seen the highlights, I swerved it till now.

As you said, Guidetti is a City player on loan.
As well as being talented, he's quite a character too.
He had tonsillitis last week, and had to take peniciline, and was dubious for the match.
And he scores a hat-trick..

He's happy at Feyenoord, where he gets playing time, and is slowly improving himself.
He thinks he has a good coach in Ronald Koeman.
Feyenoord are busy trying to get him on loan for nexr season, but whether that'll come off, is yp to City.
He's not good enough for their first team yet, but maybe another Premiership team like us?
Who knows, we desperately need a scoring striker, that's no secret.

As for the match despite the first dubious penalty, Feyenoord were good for their win.
And quite a turnaround from last season, when they finished in the bottom half..

They are in a similar predicament to us, no money.
And have to solve it in a similar way, they also have Otman Bakkal on loan from PSV.

Besides loaning players, they have a lot of youth breaking through.
Playing youth does have it's drawbacks though, they are very up and down.
Yesterday they beat Ajax, but next week they can lose to a lesser team.

The row at Ajax is basically about their academy, where Johan Cruyff insists that ex-players coach the youth, like at his other club Barcelona. And we all know where that has lead to, besides the attacking style being predominant, having players like Xavi and Iniesta come through the ranks really is a luxery.

The Ajax academy has always had the name, but they're doing the right thing at Feyenoord, but then quietly.
With ex-players at the helm!
I heard on Friday that of all the national youth teams, the most players are from Feyenoord, which shows they are on the right track.

Our win at Carrington shows that Kevin Sheedy is also on the right track (see thread in Everton forum).
I hope we have more technically superior players like him working at Finch Farm (players like Paul Bracewell, Trevor Steven and Pat Nevin spring to mind).
It's where we can make the difference, not on the transfer market, as we all unfortunately know.

There was also another kid who really impressed me in the feyenoord midfield, his name escapes me now but it begins with a C i thought he ran the show..Maybe moyes should take a look at feyenoord and start letting the kids play more at least they have the heart and passion..

The Eredivisie is a bit different from the Premier League in that a team like Feyenoord is very unlikely to go down, even if they play their youth teams. (I know FL disagrees with me on that though. Smiley). The teams around the bottom are just incredibly poor in quality, especially defending, which the Dutch seem to have little or no interest in.

That would be Jordy Clasie, I'm not surprised tbh.

We've had the discussion about playing more youth in the Premiership, and as Rhys probably wisely said, I think Moyes is more protective.
Youth players are not always on a sharp curve upwards, they have peroids when their form leaves them.
They are vulnerable in this regard.
But Moyes does fit them in when possible.
Don't forget he gave Jack Rodwell his debut at my local club AZ when he was only 16 (almost comparable to Colin Harvey's at the San Siro)
He played Bidwell and others in one of our last European games as well.

The Eredivisie is in no way comparable with the Premiership.
Because of all the foreign players, the Premiership is miles ahead.

I think our youth set up is pretty good, but it can do no harm to look at other clubs with an excellent record.
Even though you're doing well, you can always do better!
With Barca being the pinnacle

I can remember Tony Adams taking a look at Feyenoord before going into management.
He's now working in Azerbaijan, which is disappointing.
But maybe it's the route he wants to take.

I can remember that discussion, but that was last year.
Feyenoord are now firmly back in the top half.
Their youth are improving, and can raise their game, although taking their rivalry into account, against Ajax it's not that difficult.
They were the better team in the Amsterdam Arena, but had to leave with only a disappiointing draw.
Yesterday they made amends.
But they do need Guidetti upfront to inspire them.

A City delegation were present to see Guidetti score his het-trick.

Brian Marwood declared that they are very pleased the way Feyenoord are handling their talent and the way he is developing.
The clubs have agreed that he is to finish the season at the Rotterdam club, where he has scored 14 times till now, without not playing in all their games.

If we don't get a good striker in this and the summer window, he certainly sounds like someone we should try to get on loan.
