A report form Spain suggests that Barcelona midfielder Alexander Hleb has been released from his contract at the club, and is now free to talk to any club. Everton are amongst those all interested in a deal for the Belarus international.

Hleb spent some time with Birmingham City last year, but failed to save the club from relegation and later was released from the club.

The Belarus midfielder has always admitted that he would like to return to the Premier League, and it appears that Everton have already almost completed a deal for the player.

I hope not, he was shit at birmingham in his time there..

Was sensational in his first spell at Stuttgart, would be a decent option on a free till the end of the season.

I knew he got released before deadline day and thought he wouldn't be a bad option on a free until the end of the season.

I remember seeing him playing for VFB many years ago and he was unplayable. Still, he's gotta be better than McFadden.

Id be happy if we got him in. Hopefully Moyes would work his magic and we could get a good 2-3 years out of him so Barkley can have time to step up.

Agree with above.  Was great at Arsenal but if you went from Barcelona to Birmingham City, I guess you'd be pretty distressed.  He was terrible at Birmingham though wasn't he?  Maybe around better players he'd get something back.

Injured throughout the majority of his spell

We all know Moyes' habit of resurrecting careers, if nothing its another (not forgetting attacking) option to the squad

Was a very good player for VFB and Arsenal but complete shite at Birmingham. If Moyse can help him capture his form of old then i would be happy to take him on free, would add depth to the squad
