I think we need to give Garbutt or Bidwell a chance next season for cup games because Baines must play more than any other player and our solution is to play a right back there!

If they aren't good enough then we need to pay cash, hopefully Moyes can spend wisely again.

To realistically challenge that top 4-6 next season....

Pienaar and drenthe would need to be made permanent. Prob Donovan or someone else simlar too would be needed. But maybe between Coleman,Barkley and guaye we could cover injuries ect. Could we reley on drenthe every week?

We would need to KEEP all are central mids, you need a squad so Fellani, Gibson and rodwell would all be needed to challenge for the 2 CM positions.
We'd then have ossie, Cahill and Barkley challenging for the ACM/ off the striker position, which I feel is good strong options.

Apart from cover for baines I think we generally ok in defence. Coleman needs to be pushed to make the RB spot his. Good mix of senior and youth.

Alot is going to depend on how good jellavic is in the striking department. If he turns out to be a real good player are options ain't looking that bad. Cover from straq, vic and vellios plus the young Connor coming through. If he's average at best the that's a problem and we'd be needing to invest again.

My conclusion:
If the loans are made permanent and new and young players come good and are a success... Well were not looking in bad fettle. I think a couple of astute free signings or bargain deals by moyes in the summer could be the start of a new exciting team.

I dont even think we would need to spend money on transfers past the players on loan as the quality of free transfers available in the summer is good. That will allow us to keep the likes of Rodwell or Fellaini Id hope. We could get:

Figueroa
Hoilett
Rodellega

I think that added to what we would have would give us the strength and depth to be able to put out a decent team throughout the whole of the season.

I think I'd be happy enough just to make Pienaar, Drenthe and Straq permanent. No idea what type of few would be required to get Straq but I imagine it will be about 4 or 5 mil for Pienaar.Whether Drenthe can be relied upon or not, the fact that he would be free makes him well worth that risk. When he gets it right he's unplayable, and sometimes he does get it right!

Would take all 3 of these but doubt Figueroa would come to sit on the bench, Hoillet unfortunately would have teams with more to offer than us after him but do think Rodellega would be realistic.

Would like see us go back for the deals for Manolas (free), Pranjic (free), tie up the loan deals and bring in Rodellega (free). Hopefully this would mean not having to see anybody.

As bad as it sounds I would be gutted if we don't sell rodders in the summer as we are still atleast 2-3 players short of challenging for the top 6 imo, rodwell and felliani are both defensive minded midfielders and we are in desperate need of a creative cm, if we got around £20 mill gor rodders I would be made up to sign pienaar for say £3 mil, kranjcar for say £7 mil to be our creative cm alongside felliani and the rest on a £10 mil bid for a top class striker like barrios or defoe to give us depth in squad and play:

Howard

Coleman
Jagielka
Heitinga
Baines

Drenthe
Kranjcar
Felliani
Pienaar

Barkley
Barrios/Defoe

Wouldn't argue with much of that but would keep Distin, he should be getting to the point were he is backup rather than first choice though.

I'd keep him too, but seeing as we haven't heard anything about a contract offer I just can't see him still being here next season.

He will be offered a years extension on a reduced wage I would imagine, can see him rejecting considering his good form.

We'd get a small fee for Mucha which could be sacrificed towards the wage bill. There's also the fair amount of high-earning players we've let go over the last year.

Plus we might get a few coppers for Yobo.

Don't know why pranjic would want to come if he's unlikely to get first team football. Not keen on him as a left wing and a 30 year old full international as back up to baines is a bit much.

Rodders out and a couple of wingers in would do nicely. Imagine moyes would bring in another central midfielder as well though seen as he'll probably stick to playing Barkley out wide where he has less defensive responsibility (as he did with gosling) and Osman may need to play out wide on occasion too.

Agree that it's key Coleman moves in to defense asap.
