Seen this interview. Sounds like he just wants to play but Ive also heard that he wont rule out a permenant return in the summer. Depending what spurs might want for him Id take him. (Also dependant on form during the loan deal).  Cant wait for Bainaar to return!!!

I thought E4E hinted that it was a done deal that it would be permanent in the other thread

Gonna stick me neck out & go against the grain, here.

I simply don't understand the hoo-hah over pienaar's return. People have short memories of how he held us to ransom for 18months+.

We refused to give him parity with arteta, and he was very cute in giving a different reason every 5mins, while continuing to play at a consistent level - keeping the fans onside. So he stalled, and instead of us getting a good fee early on, if he'd said no (Rubin Kazan offered £6m) we only ended up making a small profit, because he ran his contract down to get his own way - profit which will now be swallowed up by his loan fee & (No doubt) increased wages. And at the end of it - he still won't be our player. So we'll have to give spours their dough back, and pay him (At his improved rate) AND his agent.

We rescued him from deutschland, and that's how he repaid us........now some are welcoming him with open arms. Yet he's ultimately got what he wanted (Not what he deserves) in terms of renumeration.

Besides which, I always maintained that Baines was the driving force in the "Bainaar partnership". Baines' career hasn't suffered much since pienaar left, has it? pienaar's has though.

he wanted to play champions league football with a better team and felt he deserved more money a la Arteta's wage.

He fully deserved a similar wage to Arteta so I have no qualms with him.

Another reason was the tax rate.......but in the end God decided for him  whistle

I don't see why he deserved parity with arteta, when Baines was doin' a lot of graft for him.Arteta was a more marketable asset, despite arteta's poor form - and that was proved. No way on God's green one would pienaar have fetched £10m - even if he was on a 5yr contract.

Also after watching the interview you could tell he wanted to say yes when they asked if he regretted leaving.

Parity could easily have been achieved with Arteta,£25,000 p/w wasted on Mcfaddens wages, for a player we dont need and will not play,he simply deserved parity with Arteta

I don't see why everyon keeps going on about the wage thing ( parity with arteta). It wasn't about the money he could get with us!! Even if we offered parity do you think he would of stayed???

It was about the fact he could get more money elsewhere ON TOP of the fact he could be playing CL and title challenging. He prob thought he was a bit better than he actually is.

Anyway glad he's back, dont care what happened 12 months ago

Like Everton didn't mess him around when his original loan with us finished and we dragged out the permanent deal...

I agree that far FAR poorer players than pienaar have been given excessive contracts - and I believe pienaar was worth an increase - just not parity with our (then) top-earner.

As Christiffa25 says, he thought/thinks (as do some fans imo) that he's better than he actually is.

Great signing. Over the last 2 seasons he played he was the best player. Certainly better than the overhyped Arteta who blinded so many people that they were cursing Kenwright for not giving him his super-duper new improved contract sooner. We all know how that ended. Pienaar did not deserve parity with Arteta, he deserved more.

His first season or two he was average. In Artetas absence he became much more involved, and his last season was decent, even if not as prolific as the season before. He was a big part of our play, so definitely glad to have him back, and hope he gets the welcome he deserved. He still worked hard for us even when he was leaving. Because of that alone, he deserves our respect.

Hahahaha 5th best passer of the ball in Europe. Its painful to see how much we miss Arteta. Arteta was our talisman and somebody who we still havent replaced.

Both good players, both missed. happy to have one back. Really didn't think it would happen and wasn't getting my hopes up but ecstatic he is back. Everton is about to make some money off me as I buy my nephew a Pienaar shirt. He is 3 and his dad is a Man u supporter. Going to be brilliant
