75 today!!

All the best, Alex  hail  cheers  hail No more Tv licence fee for you  Tongue

Slightly before my time. But even me 'arl fella (Dirty red, but used to go to both) agrees he was one of the best centre-forwards he's seen.

So good, they made a play on the telly about him - long before the days of the incessant media saturation of the likes of beckham.

(Did I ever mention that I'm probably the only person other than the club, the f.a., and Alex himself; to own a copy of his Everton contract?  smug )

You have sat too long for any good you have been doing lately ... Depart, I say; and let us have done with you. In the name of God, go!

Happy Birthday Alex . hail I had the pleasure of meeting the great man at a function in the Holiday Inn last year , (or was it the year before?) , He was not in the greatest of health but I believe he's much better now . There were a few other Everton Centre Forwards there that night , Joe Royle , Latch , Mike Newell , amongst others , but the star was the Golden Vision himself . His biography by Dr France is a great book and the play ' The Golden Vision' can be seen in about 8 different parts on Youtube .

one of my all time heroes I use to have Roy Vernon as my No 1 player but the Golden Vision replaced him ,for those that did not see him play live look on you tube for his goal at Goodison against Man Utd ,one of the greatest goals Goodison has seen

Anyone know anymore of his song for him that had the line in "He scored a hat-trick for Harry Catterick"?

The 'School Of Science' tag started in 1928 after we'd won the league and Steve Bloomer said that Everton always served up football of the highest scientific order.
