Terry is clearly a nasty piece of work (whether he's a racist or not has not been proven however and as such l actually think he ought to be treat as innocent until such time) who is from a real family of scumbugs.

Rooney's made a series of fuck ups that certainly tarnish his name slightly but he's no kiddy fiddler or going out tanning the house of some old dear over.

Agree about the 3 MGP mentioned being decent enough people to be captain BUT......

Ferdinand and Lampard are both on the decline in terms of age and their careers and would be nothing more than a stop gap, and Barry just isn't of the quality required to captain his country in my opinion.

Having said that, there's really not a lot of choice.  I'd almost be tempted to give it to Rooney and hope that the responsibility brings the best out of him, but I'd fully expect him to get himself embroiled in some sort of scandal within a year or two.

Lampard I can kind of understand but Rio 'u got merked' Ferdinand and Gareth 'makes carlton palmer look good' Barry?! Barry hasn't done much wrong (apart from doing a Lescott) but he's just a dull footballer. I agree with your sentiment, but I don't think he's played enough to be captain and neither is he a definite starter so I don't think they could give him the captaincy.

I would in a heartbeat. It's no suprise that Spurs are still within touching distance because they added the missing ingredient in Parker. He is as important to them as Bale or Modric.
