I know it was on sky and City only had 2200 there after returning 700 but 29000 seems very few to me...

Only our second sub-30,000 crowd for a home league game in the last 10 years, against the league leaders no less. Both coming this season too. Anyway, shush mate, don't spoil the feelgood factor by pointing out stuff like that. Be interesting if the crowds pick up now that we've apparently managed to sell enough people to start trading again.

if we were storming the league and watching some of the worlds top players in royal blue we would be selling out. we are not and the country is fucked, attendances are down almost everywhere. with the o/p though all considered it was a bit low!

Surprised that Citeh returned 700 tickets but it seems many teams don't take up their full allocation at Goodison . Could be something to do with the primitive accommodation and facilities in the Bullens .

On a positive note though, whilst attendances were pretty poor in each of the Fulham and City games, I thought they were some of the best atmospheres of the season so far

Sky did it, a cold night, my wife left an empty seat and other people prefer to watch it in the alehouse. Take a look at the empty seats at Sunderland v Norwich. They were all in the pub. My mate said if you have 60,000 followers there will always be people to fill the seats. We have 38,000 fans or so and loss of form, and poor results, freezing weather. sky TV and hey presto we are down to 26,000 blues attending.

They changed it from a Wednesday to a Tuesday 10 days before the game. I know a few lads from mid Wales who'd bought tickets and booked time off work on the Wednesday but couldn't get the Tuesday off at short notice

It's becoming a problem for most clubs now,i notced even man u had qiute a few open spaces in thier last home game, and Arsenal have had loads of empty seats for a while. The bottom line is people have less disposable income these days, and if you can still watch the game on the tv in the warm having a few ales rather than shelling out cash for a ticket and travelling costs, when money's tight threre's going to be a lot of fans picking and choosing thier games, and until the country gets out of the mess we find ourselves in crowds are going to be in decline.

Yet we're still taking over 4,000 to Wigan! Think this is shows the great core of die-hard fans we have, as well as the fairly substantial amount of 'fair weather' supporters that we have
