It was the pitch's fault but he still probably should have gotten to it. I dont blame him though, it was terribly unlucky.

Just looking at my name and my pic you can tell I am a big Tim Howard fan, but even I realize how inconsistently he has been playing as of late with mistakes today and against Blackburn. He is not a bad goalkeeper, but these past two years he has been out of it at times and made a glaring mistake 2 or 3 times a year. Should we drop him? I am not sure, what are other people's thoughts.

2 mistakes. A screamer against Blackburn, and a poor game overall vs Wigan.

Ill take that from a goalkeeper in a season.

Like others have said he was unlucky that the freak spin on the ball wrongfooted him but I think he should still have kept it out.  He seemed slow to react, but I'd like to watch it again at full speed and on something better than an internet stream to be sure.

If we make a huge issue out of it, then it will just destroy his confidence. Just get behind the lad next game. Shit happens.

look at the way it bounced. he was going to get it then as soon as it hit the turf, it bounced off away from him. you'll see it on replays

First time I've heard Howard being questioned this season. Personally I think he's a solid keeper, just unlucky with a divot today by all accounts.
