Howard can see it, why can't Moyes. Those are great stats, compare that to the little he has cost us.

Moyes can see it. He can also see the missed passes and fuck ups that lead to the opposition scoring goals.

Given Moyes admission that keeping a clean sheet is his first priority he is never going to pick RR whist he is still seen as a bit of a liability. I think this may also be the deal breaker for RRs permanent signature. If RR can demonstrate a bit more maturity and team thinking ethos (an his wage requirements aren't too prohibitive) then he would sign him up.

TBH Blarg your post seems a bit of a stealth dig at Moyes whom I know you are less than enamoured with.......

How many goals has he cost us? You are never going to win games without creativity. He is our main outlet. I'd rater he cost us a goal a month if he can keep those stats up.

He is far and away our most dangerous player, should be one of the first names on the team sheet. If he doesn't play, we only have one other creative outlet and that's the left wing.

If the lad never lost the ball he'd be the best winger in the premiership.

Seriously though, the misplaced pass against city aside has he cost us many goals? Also it's a bit of a myth about him not tracking back, he blatantly does!Il always cheer him on even if some miserable fuckers around me at the game don't!

We need to sign Roy up - don't know what it is with some of the fans at our games but some seem all to eager to jump on his back as soon as something doesn't go his way.

He cost us a goal away at city - so what, they battered us in that game!

I just think we have to forgive Roy certain things - given his directness it is never going to come off for him all the time (if it did, he would still be at Madrid) but he has been more tenacious when he has lost the ball recently and for what he offers going forward, I struggle to see where else our team could get that from currently

Mate he comes and celebrates with us in the paddock as we're the only ones who don't groan after every time he loses the ball!lets hope we start getting invited to those basement parties he has!

I think many just want us to play safe boring football.

It's players like Drenthe that make football exciting to watch.

Spot on mate.
People seem to think that just because he attacks well means he doesn't defend as well.

For me he needs a run in the side (now is prefect) and if he can do what he did to blackpool against prem sides, not every week but on a consistent enough basis he has to be signed.

He still has a lot to prove but noone can doubt his ability

He has the best stats in the team. 3 goals, 9 assists, isn't that consistent enough?
