Martinez is very fortunate to get the Belgium job, and to be fair, I think it is a much better job than managing Hull. Perhaps having been sacked at Everton, Martinez has had a long time to think about what went wrong and starting at a new managerial job he might just implement things a little differently, depending on just how rigid his philosophy is, I certainly don't expect Belgium to be solid defensively.
Saying that, the Belgian FA must have looked at his cup record in the last few years and the fact that he won the FA Cup with Wigan and reached 2 semi-finals with us last season whilst also helping us do quite well in the Europa League until that game in Kiev. Perhaps international football would suit Martinez's style.
I wonder how he'll get on with Lukaku, especially as not long after he was sacked Lukaku admitted Martinez had "lost the dressing room". Plus he rarely played Mirallas in the last year so I can't see him feature in the Belgian team unless there was an injury crisis.
Let's see how he does, he might very well surprise us - if Leicester can win the Premier League, just imagine Martinez lifting the World Cup in Moscow in 2 years time.
