Going somewhere without Jones etc might have been the best thing for him.

It would have been for a $40m contract!

Apparently he aced the interview.

But then he's never had a problem with talking.

Also it's said that his frosty relationship with Mirallas and Lukaku was seen as a plus because Wilmots was judged to be too close to the players.

What they don't realise is that the relationship is frosty because they think he's rubbish rather than because he's stand off-ish with the players ;)

He's one of the few people with the ability to make it worse.

To be fair, at least wed keep the ball a bit better to limit the chances of being caught wide open a bit...
