Didn't ask me but I do wonder why anyone would object to a child dressing up as their black hero. I know the history of white people blacking up but surely a white child wanting to be their black hero is absolutely progress. Think that's political correctness gone mad
Let's leave the racism discussion at the door before we've got 3 pages on it.It's a thread about Barkley not who can/can't/should/shouldn't say a particular word. The thread is shit enough already.
Didn't see that story. Got a link please?
Fucking grim on here la.
Is it just me or has it been worse than usual? Feel like there's been more general aggro but less big breakdowns.
Jews don't call each other yids as a term of friendship. In Yiddish, the word "Yid" Yiddish: ייד is neutral or even complimentary, and in Ashkenazi Yiddish-speaking circles it is frequently used to mean simply "fellow," "chap," "buddy," "mate," etc., with no expressed emphasis on Jewishness (although this may be implied by the intra-Jewish context). Plural is יידן [jidn].In Yiddish, a polite way to address a fellow Jew whose name one does not know is Reb Yid, meaning "Sir." The Yiddish words yidish or yiddisher (from Middle High German jüdisch) is an adjective derived from the noun Yid, and thus means "Jewish".
Could it be unacceptable in future to describe Barkley as the yid's lid?
Was a nice try, shame every post since has been about it.How many pages off topic before a thread gets locked?
Done deal to Spurs I've heard. I'd say it's pretty reliable IMO.
