Title: Everton vs Apollon Limassol
Post by: Bluedylan on September 25, 2017, 01:05:13 AM
Thursday Night - 8:05pm

Might as well get cracking with this. Goes without saying that it's a must win, if we have any aspirations to qualify and prosper in this tournament. They're currently 8th in the Cypriot League and picked up a creditable 1-1 with Lyon at home in the first EL game.

Nothing less than 3 pts but more importantly a bit more of a performance against this standard of opposition too.

                                Kenny           Holgate             Williams            Baines

                                                     Sandro               Klaassen

Subs Bench: Stek; Martina; Schneiderlin; Gueye; Sigurdsson; Rooney; Calvert-Lewin

"The Davy & Sandy Show"............................. .anything Oumar can do!

Look at the age(s) of that right side: 20, 20, 19, 19, 22 (+ Vlasic, 19)

Klaassen shouldnt play, DCL for him. We need to win  and perform., we can't keep playing players hoping they will hit form.. same goes for Besic,, Gana Gueye for him.

Anything short of a comfortable win will be embarrassing.

Would like to see Pickford, Kenny, Davies and Sandro all start this game.

Would be nice to see Lookman and Mirallas play some part too. Ideally start and then come off when we're a few goals up.

Second rate opposition - a real chance for Ramirez and Klaassen (he can score goals) to deliver and Mo should hold his own

Save DCL for at least 45 mins - we need form players for Sunday, plus we'll have Niasse back!

3-0 will balance the books!

Hope these are shite.

Pickford
Kenny Holgate Williams Baines
Schneiderlin Gana
Klaassen
Vlasic Sandro Lookman

If we need to a target man then get DCL on at some point but I worry about him playing too much.

Must win. I wonder if all 3 of our number 10s can somehow magically combine here?surely to God we aren't gonna make that mistake again. Presumably he will stick with Stek for Europa?a rare start for Sandro seeing as though Niasse can't play?almost certainly won't be this side but here we go

               Stekelenburg

   Kenny Holgate Williams Baines

         Davies Schneiderlin Gana

                  Sigurdsson

          Calvert-Lewin Sandro

Mine weren't, just worried about the personnel we've got out there.

Holgate and Williams at CB.
Sandro and Klaassen looking off the pace.

I've got absolutely no idea if these are decent or not.

They're not doing great in the league so far but only three matches in.

It's a laugh that.

Iíve never seen a venue in such a mess as Camp & Furnace was when we went. The only two ther occasions Iíve seen such carnage was after the Stone Roses and Oasis gigs.

Anyway, we assumed Atalanta would be fairly straight forward given they had lost a few key players and were sitting shit at fourth bottom in the league, then that happened. I donít think Lyon really got going against Limassol last week, decent result for us that 1-1 if we can score a few without reply on Thursday.

What? We're more or less on par from with most people would have hoped from those first six fixtures. Granted performances haven't been great and the goal difference has taken a hammering but to say ditch the EL for the league because we've not played well is a bit silly.

Aside the six defensive(seven with keeper) players knowing which half the pitch they have to be in ....the rest havnt got a clue where to play imho. ...sure RK just throws the rest in the other half and hopes for the best .... then take Rooney off for Niasse to win ....but he's fucked that up for Europe .

@kramer0 (http://www.nsno.co.uk/forums/index.php?action=profile;u=4360) what has our formation been in the last two games?

Well against Bournemouth I'd say he started as the left of an attacking midfield 3 behind Calvert Lewin

                 Pickford

Martina Holgate Williams Baines

            Gana Schneiderlin

      Rooney Klaassen Sigurdsson

               Calvert-Lewin

I'd say he finished as a central attacking midfielder though

              Pickford

Kenny Holgate Williams Baines

    Davies Gana Schneiderlin

              Sigurdsson

        Calvert-Lewin Niasse

Which is the shape and in the main the personnel that I would be going for right now. 2nd choice behind Sigurdsson to be fought out between Rooney and Klaassen

DCL is untouchable and has to play. Sandro and Niasse fighting to play alongside him with specific instruction to Sandro if he does start to get in the fucking box and have some shots!less picking the ball up and running sideways across the midfield.

Likewise with Rooney, Sigurdsson and Klaassen (and only one of them is allowed to play!) I would say 'listen lads there's a back 4 and 3 centre mids behind you, just concentrate on the attacking side of the game, try and get into the box and try and link up with those in front of you!

From the United match (click on the pass map in the bottom right corner):

The pass map suggests that, in that match, he was mostly tucking in from the left wing (which certainly confirms the eye test). Unfortunately, I couldn't find the map from the Bournemouth match (which is probably more indicative of how Koeman wants to play) but I imagine it shows something similar in terms of Sigurdsson's average position.

Where did I say ditch it ? I said its a 'must-win' for progress.

It's just that personally I'm not that bothered about the EL as I've seen again just how important the PL results are.

And given how many games and difficult the EL is to win I think our chances are pretty remote anyway.

Analytics, metrics, or whatever you want to call it, works perfect for baseball. At least the individual player stats in my opinion. In baseball you can take Mike Trout and put him on any team and he'll basically have the same numbers. The only thing really effecting his hitting, other than himself, is who hits behind him. In football it matters who you play with on what team. This is why I find individual analytical stats(not team stats) really hard to grasp in other team sports other than baseball.

Baseball is unique in that it is a very individualist team sport so you can break down every play that every player makes because he's pretty much the only one involved.

This is what I see anyway. I could be way off the mark and I'd gladly listen to @kramer0 (http://www.nsno.co.uk/forums/index.php?action=profile;u=4360) or anyone else tell me otherwise.  :)

P.S. I would love it if @kramer0 (http://www.nsno.co.uk/forums/index.php?action=profile;u=4360)   started a "getting to know analytics" thread. If he's up to it? Then we won't have to talk about it in here.

Wow. No-one anywhere near the penalty box and four players on each others toes, like we all see every week. Only Koeman can't see it.
Because of the way these maps are made - they basically just average where the player makes an action (tackles, intercepts, shoots, passes, blocks and clearances are the main ones) - they can mislead a little. That will definitely affect a forward's average position if they're involved in clearing defensive corners or the main one challenging for the ball at a goal kick.

So, in the Bournemouth match, Calvert-Lewin might not be as central as we'd like, but his distance from the goal line is probably about where you'd expect a forward to be. It's definitely much more of an issue though in the United match where you can clearly see Rooney's a lot deeper than Lukaku or Rashford.

Beyond saying that some of the players are new though, there's no excuse for the position of those 4 centre mids.

He could make the squad for Sunday and if Williams gets injured, he should be playing!

                   Stek
Kenny Holgate Williams Baines
             Gana Besic
Lennon         Sig            Vlasic
                 Sandro

That'd do for me. Strong team, while resting a few starters. Lennon will give Kenny plenty of cover. Besic can do slideys.

Mike Trout is a local legend where I live.

Pickford
Kenny Williams Holgate Baines

Vlasic Davies Sigurdsson Sandro
DCL

No 2 DMs, Davies has to start, pace on the wings, plenty of balance should be a comfortable win with that XI

"We'll play our strongest team" is a nice a sentiment but I'd argue that most of our problems this season stem from Koeman not knowing what our strongest team is.

I really hope he learns from the player combinations that haven't worked so far.

Really hoping to smash these tonight.

What we need now is for a few players to click, a few lucky breaks and someone gets terrorised 8-0.

Would settle nerves, build confidence and give everyone a boost. So far my biggest Everton-based excitement has been updates on the Bramley Moore Dock thread.

Klaassen to be anonymous and to go back on loan to Ajax before making the move back permanent for an undisclosed fee to spare our blushes for how much we lost on him

I hope this doesn't happen but it's certainly a grim possibility!

Once again strange selection in terms of formation/balance, I can't remember a selection I've agreed with! Do we need 2 defensive MF's... 442 in a diamond looks like the formation for me with the players we've got... DCL is a must with no niasse.... maybe Rooney can lead the line and Sandro feed off him.... But Koeman is playing with fire if he repeats the slow narrow pedestrian start to the game... As his stubbornness is our only consistency...

We're in a poor run of form after some tough fixtures and harmful results. If you think we can just turn on the form like a switch you are mistaken. We need a bit of luck to help turn things around. Just accept the good fortune; we moan about the bad breaks when they come. Each good result will build confidence and form will improve.

Its clearly not working

What's wrong with 4-4-2, so much more balanced

I'll guarantee Rooney or Sandro would look much better with a strike partner of DCL and some width

Come on mate. We're the 12th most expensive squad in world football and these are Championship level. Let's tell it as it is hey.
We should be beating them, no doubt but we're never going to have it all our own way, especially given our form coming into it etc.
Just saying that dropping a goal down early due to an individual error isn't time to loose it at how bad it all is. Could be playing better for sure, a lot better but it's a 90 minute game

We are certainly ambitious enough. Looking to build new stadium and just spent an insane amount of cash.

I don't think that what managers really want, potential is one thing, but being proven is another. The best managers are just as ambitious as players are. Look at our managers over the last 25 years. Kendall (second and third stint), Walker, Royle, Smith, Moyes and Martinez, tells you alot.

As for the money argument, yeah we've come into a bit of money, but pales into insignificance when you look at what the others above us spend.

Probably need about 9 new players for the first 11 and that's probably being kind to a couple of them. They are a fucking joke. Inept management, inept cowardly footballers.

Bad subs after going 1 up, I am sure we could have brought someone more defensive than Klassen.

It's a pity that we can only use 3 subs, there were at least 4 more players who should have been substituted there. Absolutely pathetic by the players and the manager there today.

Player for player it is some talent there. But the team is incredible unbalanced. What do you need creative players for if They cannot play the ball to A clinical striker?

Most funny of all - okey, we dont have A clinical striker, but we dont even have a striker making the runs😂

We are a bad team and we noticed it even in this pre-season. Gonna be a tough season.

Horrific again.

Great idea to finish the summer transfer window without a striker. Can't remember any team effectively writing off a season before it starts like that. It's like not having a goalkeeper. What were they thinking?

Yeah. We shall see. Last year, I did not even think he was a decent footballer. This year, he has proven me wrong on that front. I am hopeful that his scoring will improve eventually. He has hardly played 30 games and is only 20, so there is definitely time.
Iím sure he will be decent in time but if we want to be a top team, we donít have time to bed-in youngsters. The top team have kids make mistakes/learn at other clubs and only put them in the team when 100% ready.

More likely to extend koemans contract than sack him. The only reason people assumed he'd only do 3 years here is because of his ambition and so he'd move upwards. He isn't gonna get a better offer and we are daft enough to secure him for another 3 or 4 years now

Massively depressing tonight.

Yes, the players are clearly bereft of confidence but you've got to lay blame at the feet of the manager for a lot of our problems.  It's painful to watch quality players picking the ball up with their back to goal and no opponent within 10 yards and being so lacking in confidence that they automatically look for a simple pass backwards.

As things stand it's tough to see anything other than a really bad season.

I suppose on the positive side, Vlasic looks like a player.

I don't believe Koeman is going to turn this around. If you're going to be a hard arse, you need the results. We should accept European football as gone and use it to give youngsters and squad players.

Adding european fixtures to an already busy schedule requires a far stronger squad and we look compromised in all competitions.

Managing a successful under23's team is totally different from managing one of the world most competitive's football league. I'm not sure how Unsworth would fare over 30 odd games, huge risk, half a dozen games? ofcourse.

Still think the club will give Koeman one more transfer window to turn it around and I firmly believe he'll probably leave in the summer.

Leave the Goodison visit another 6 months until RK has gone if I were you, mate

I wish..not easy to get to the UK from the US west. The match I'd be eyeing is home vs. Chelsea, so figure we're bound to lose, but if we do win it's the one to be at.

Plus, I can at least check out the Beatles museum right? :badum:

Europa league is least of my worries. Best we drop out now, league is a major major concern.

Disagree.

With all these signings we need as many games as possible for Our Ronnie to stumble upon a starting eleven that are not gutless, spineless and clueless.

Won't be holding my breath though!

I know it makes me a shit blue but I won't be watching on Sunday or in the near future. It's a chore rather than entertainment. The club gets zero benefit from me watching an illegal stream and I'd sooner be doing almost anything else. I can accept crap. I can't accept hands tied behind our backs inept shite. 150m and we just didn't bother with pace width or a fucking forward. Individually our business was a bit shite and very expensive. In terms of team building it was laughable

Negatives have been covered...so I'll skip that. Second half was much better and dropping one of the two holding players for vlasic made a huge difference...he has to start and we cant have those two playing together against anyone but the likes of city.

Kenny was solid too

We played better football and pressed better as a team for the second, gilfy and vlasic and schneiderlin were all great and won back possesion over and over.

Bar two mistakes, klassen and calvert-lewin, it was a much bettet performance in both directions.

I i'm not too bothered who at the moment, Koeman just makes me teeth itch.

With Martinez he had to go, but at least you knew Everton would attack, he had attacking principles, but his defensive priorities were non existent. With Koeman I can't work out how he wants our team to play, we have no attacking cohesion at all, our defence is poor really the way it's looking, we have to score 3 goals to win a match most of the time. But I can not ever see us scoring 3 goals. The players don't seem to know what formation / tactics we are supposed to be playing. We improved slightly with the introduction  of some pace.
But household names like Rooney, Sigurdsson can't seem to put a pass  together. Sandro, Klassen are totally devoid of confidence. We are becoming a laughing stock under Koeman, this year we were supposed to push on, but it's not just the results but the performances have been nothing short of pathetic.

Was in LA last year, fucking love that city

Salt Lake City, in Utah. Just moved here a year ago from San Diego. Personally, I hate LA ;)

Landon Donovan has been doing a lot of work trying to get an MLS club started in San Diego within the past 6-8 months or so. Him and Timmy the original way I found the club (of course). We have an Everton-esque local club here in SLC, Real Salt Lake. Consistent middle of the pack, lower budget team with coaching issues! The matches are pretty fun, and we're in the hunt for one of the last playoff spots with 3 matches to play.

Ha i'm not surprised if you don't come from LA, i guess that's the feeling across most of the US, I loved it though

Salt Lake eh? The mormon city, haven't they got strict drinking laws there? You'll love Liverpool if that's the case (at the other end of the spectrum  lolol)

Donovan is a legend over here, good to hear he's doing well and good luck with the playoff spot

So he didn't do an interview, curious to what he has to say about that.

Taken from the BBC:

Everton boss Ronald Koeman on BT Sport: "It's really disappointing. We started poor without any confidence, doing a lot of mistakes. But we had a good reaction. We got a big present to score at 1-1 but the second half was much better.

"We had big chances to score the third one and even after 2-2 we had an unbelievable chance. Sometimes when you are struggling you are too afraid to play football. that's difficult. If it's several players, football is very difficult.

"The challenge is to get the team full of confidence. You need to start better, if you start with many mistakes like today it's hard, look at the first goal it's shocking. Winning games is good medicine but now it will be the same at the weekend.

"The feeling is like a defeat, not even a draw."

Another unpopular opinion on here but DCL isn't actually very good. He's getting a lot of credit for battling and being relatively quick because even them basics are things we don't have. He's a terrible finisher though. Has some horrible touches. He's got 1 goal in the league hasn't he?  People think he might be our Harry Kane. He's a lucky boy as he's currently being compared to rooney playing on the edge of his own area and nothing.
Currently he's all effort no substance. Not convinced he'll make a decent premier league player never mind Harry fucking Kane

Ya..liquor laws are whack here. Beer in bars can only be 4.0% ABV (pretty popular in the states to have 6-8% beer). Liquor drinks are capped at 1.5oz per pour. To buy "full strength" beer, any wine or liquor have to go to a state-run liquor store (closed Sundays of course), only 4% beer available in the grocery store.

...But the skiing is world-class. If any of you Evertonians are out this way have a free place to stay right near the mountains. We even get all the matches on TV here ;)

A Xmas drinking holiday is just what the doctor ordered for the GF and I. Can't wait to sit by a roaring fire in the pub and put a few back.

Worst thing about it is Ashley Williams number being on the graphic.

Actually, the worst thing is is we're almost attacking with only 1-2 men. Kenny and Baines are useless and we have 4 guys on top of each other.

At least that doesn't automatically give your opponents a one goal lead like starting Williams does.

Something I forgot in all of this...both of our goals weren't really earned or worked. Cheapo on the first, and then a super lucky bounce with a great finish. Damn.

Wind it in. He's played about two dozen games at the top level and you're already writing him off?

Im not writing him off. I'm saying the jury is out as to if he'll have a good top flight career while others are suggesting he might be Harry Kane. He's got 1 goal. Surely my take is a little more realistic than the 1s who think he might become 1 of the top strikers in the world? Christ there was 1 person who suggested he was the worlds best youngster

Want to know what Harry Kane was doing at same age?

Being horrendous in the U20 World Cup coming back from two failed spells at Norwich and Leicester.

Harry Kane is a very unusual 1 because like you said he was shite and then suddenly brilliant. It's still ridiculous suggesting someone might be the new him because they are a bit better than when he was shite

Hope you're right. I think he's a decent prospect with a reasonable chance of a good career. He's not close to ready to be playing regular first team premier league games though and it's very unlikely he'll be anywhere near as good as Harry Kane
He's had plenty of acclaim this year really based on the fact he's better than the other option (which is nothing)

So you where there tonight? And Yes I am a 'fan' of Koeman and if you read down I was basically saying that I'm pissed off with him as he keeps on saying that we are 'afraid' but I think he's 'afraid ' because his selections have been poor. I at the time thought it was our best option and can you complain regarding 1st Season results? We were a Team that were 11th and 12th in Martinez' last 2 Seasons and if you were to to compare ok, as he would say! the same as Martinez.
Unfortunately he has not had the balls to not drop Players he has bought- and it could be argued we did not need them all. We lost Lukaku and got a number of Players. It's not working at the mo- balance, width blah blah. I am a 'fan' because I try and be optimistic. It's what I try to be. We fucked up not getting a CF in and what Team started the 1st game with only 2 Players starting from 12 months ago. Yes I'm making excuses! But I cannot change it at the mo and hopefully the Manager will change it. What's the alternative- ok sack him! Do a Palace or a Swansea or what probably a West Ham will do! It's not the 'Everton' way. Expectations eh! Best Player from Sunderland, Burnley and Swansea..... we move on. I'm just keeping the faith!

It's a free country, no one is forcing you to watch your team. I will be though. We've been fucking worse than this in my lifetime and when I started supporting the team that's exactly what I signed on for - supporting through thick and thin. I see some people on here and the way they react and I worry about their character. When times are tough you either get behind those things you claim to love or you fuck off. If there are going to be sharp growing pains (as is obviously the case), a finished, selfish Wayne Rooney needs to be nowhere near the pitch, with his shots from midfield (sorry that is probably an American-ism).

Sadly I think Rooney is one of the problems in unbalancing the team. He won't stay where he should be and gets in the way of others... he's trying to rescue us but is actually doing the opposite. Williams is just a liability and I thought he'd be better.. I'm not for sacking Koeman but he needs to think about his management style and adjust his selections.

True . Imagine a life without frustration to vent . On a footballing mote we are truly shite at the minute . I just see 11 people wandering round the pitch waiting to receive then give the ball away . I have never been sold on Koeman but its a results business and he got enough last season for people to think he could change it . Now on there own some of his buys are good players but he has no idea where or how to play them . In shoe horning some he is ruining others . As a club we have given him more money and consequently choice in personnel then we have had in many a long day and he is failing . there are a few bright spots but not enough to remotely improve on last season . He had a poor record in Cup competitions with Southampton and he has kept the form up in 2 seasons here . No way do I want this clown given more money to waste in January . It also looks like Pickford hasn't recovered fully from his Sunderland induced shellshock . Koeman is about to endure a Goodison fume on Sunday which won't help the team . He could help by not starting with a failed system that Burnley will have no trouble setting up to frustrate .

The worrying thing is that we start poorly every single game pretty much

All the fans see what's happening and say 'we need pace, width and more attacking movement'

All the pundits say the same

Last night they were all saying the difference that Vlasic and Calvert-Lewin had brought when they came on

We need at least 1 wide player starting, ideally 2. Without any wide players in the midfield it makes the full backs redundant and forces the play inside where we've got far too many players already. And then a real reluctance from the 'attacking' midfield 3 to get into the box

Klaassen and Sandro need time to adapt, Their confidence looks virtually non existent at the moment

Sigurdsson we need to stick with, he's getting there and will only improve

Rooney shouldnt really be starting every game I don't think. We need to see him in the box more, he can still finish, but the legs are definitely on the way out!

Further back Im happy to stick with kenny at right back. We really need to improve at centre back. Holgate looks like he's having a few issues adapting to the position, though ultimately it is going to be where he will play long term. Ashley Williams seems to be racking up the mistakes and is appearing to be a bit of a liability

Davies didn't have his best game last night but still for me he needs to be a regular starter

I liked the freudian slip when, picking up the ball on the edge of our own box with space ahead, the commentator said, "How quickly can Liverpool break here?", which he apologised for almost as quickly as we managed to work it back to Pickford...

I wouldn't say his legs have gone when he ran half the length of the pitch only DCL not to see him in a perfect position inside the box . His goal showed why he needs to start as he sees the game better than anyone else in the side . People moaning he is picking the ball up everywhere but look how seldom any of our supposed midfield is in advance of him . The problem is ultimately how we set up and that is down to the Manager . Sadly the Yak would have starved to death under Koeman .

So would you have Rooney in midfield?

My concern is he's not gonna play as a striker and also that he can't play out wide so is there room for him in central midfield?

I think that's ultimately where he will end up, whether he likes it or not. He's not a striker anymore, he hasn't got the positional discipline to play that role but he still has a football brain.
I would play him No 10 but we've just paid £45m for one of them.

There's probably room for 1 number 10 behind the striker

The striker is either DCL or Niasse I assume

The number 10 is either Rooney, Sigurdsson or Klaassen

Then there's 2 centre mids from Schneiderlin, Gana, Davies, Besic, McCarthy

And 2 wide players from Mirallas, Vlasic, Lookman, Lennon

Sandro possibly either the striker or a winger

For me if we followed these ingredients for the midfield/attack we would have a better balance

Massive issue at the moment is players are being shoehorned in regardless of if they fit in the system together or not

thats cos he looked like he broke his wrist, but infact he just got stamped on and had a hole next to his knuckles. thats why he had the painkillers and why his wrist was bandaged up.

was hoping it was Niasse in disguise.

I think you have just highlighted the problem in that all those players you mentioned are positionally poor as far as discipline goes . If you give someone the 10 role then you give him licence to roam . If you have 3 or 4 no10's and 2 wingers who are really No10's then you are fucked as it looks like a bunch of headless chickens . Shall we not mention the similar situation you have if you have orthodox defenders being asked to play 3 one week and 5 the next . Its a fucking car crash .

Same here, late 80's, early 90's even in the 2000's, we have struggled hard. always stuck with my team, but under Koeman, its like we have no heart, no soul, the players pass the ball sideways/backwards as fast as they can, so they dont make a mistake, its like they dont even believe in the managers tactics or style, thus it cant be implemented.

I feel Koeman doesnt have the heart and thats showing in the lack of desire on the pitch from most the players,
I know we have bee shit, like utterly shit, many many times, under Royle or Moyes, we where fucking terrible, but in those terrible games, we knew we had fucking heart and that we could sneak a 1-0 due to our tactics and heart, so many 1-0s. solid defense but shit otherwise.. but that heart was always there.

If we where 2-1 down. 13 mins to go, just had a player sent off.. no way would we have even attacked the opposition never mind scoring a goal, i cant see this Koeman team doing that, to me thats down to the manager, the players have the heart, Koeman just cant motivate them, let alone have a game plan or tactic that even if we play shit, we can still nick it..

I know many think Moyes was shit and backwards,  but as said,  He knew how to motivate, he knew how to frustrate the opposition and sneak wins. Wish Koeman could do half of that.

There should. There was for me last week against Bournemouth,. Not the overall performance, but the win being snatched. I actually get more enjoyment from wins in these type of situations than when we expect to win. Growing up in the 1990s with Welsh rugby at its lowest ebb you got to savour the wins because of the rarity of them. If sport has taught me anything it's that the bad times will pass just as the good ones do. Thick and thin mate, that's me. Even in the darkest days I've never given up watching any of my sides. I won't start now

Id been like this for a long time, only watching streams of Everton games.. since 2010 or so, i just wasnt interested in the other teams/players anymore.. but before that time i used to watch as much as i could.
But i found it pointless knowing all the players/teams/history, so much wasted energy. regardless if we (Everton) lose now, i dont take it to heart and it doesnt effect my life at all,, its just like watching a show,, i got no personal control over it, so why get angry... this season i've felt somethign new tho.. i think its embarrassment...

Football on Sky BT is brilliant. The European Champions League this week was marvellous to watch, great teams, great players. Then I drag myself to Goodison to watch possibly one of the worst displays I have seen for many, many years.  Although I can't see Everton sacking him at this stage,  I  also can't see Koeman turning this around, as he has clearly lost the players. Granted some of the players are utter shite, such as Sandro, Williams, but other better players seem to have lost everything. Gana who was a good player last season has been awful since the start of this season. Admittedly injuries have made necessary  the terrible combination of Holgate and Williams. A real danger is that this kind of abysmal performance which brought out anger and abuse from the crowd, will badly affect the confidence and development of the younger players. I was really sorry for Jonjo at right back with a floundering Davies in front of him.

It's called growing up lads. Responsibilities get in the way. I was the same, with football and rugby. Now it's just Everton, The Blues and Wales.

I can relate to this, used to look forward to going to our games or even watching them, I can't be arsed anymore, even when they equalized last night, it didn't bother me at all, I expected it. I then apologized to my kids on the way home, its my fault they support Everton, so they need to prepare themselves for everlasting heartache and disapointment.

As stated the post above by Everton 1952,. i guess he's way older than us (no disrespect) but he still enjoys all the games watches them all.

We've all have to apologise to those who follow our footsteps of being blue at some point .

Devastated for Sandro. I was so excited at him joining but he looks possibly the least confident player I have ever seen in a Blue shirt.

When is FuMo back?    :(
