I think the players will be fine as they will probably know more than any of us, I'm more concerned that it will have an effect on the crowd Liz.

Here's hoping West Brom turn Arsenal over in the early kick-off so we go level on points with them in 5th and above Man U as well, at least for 24 hours. The sight of us actually in amongst the media darlings will have those saps on Sunday Supplement having to accommodate us into their discussions as well as the usual Klopp, Harry Kane, Mourinho or Wenger standard discussions.

You're all gonna fucking jinx it at this rate!!

I think this'll be very surprisingly tough game, the Lukaku situation will be distracting the players and the sheer thought of Oumar Niasse returning to Goodison (even if he doesn't play) has got the players soiling themselves.

1-1

True but the only player who bags goals for them can't play.

It's got 4-nil written all over it, Clive.

It's a must win really isn't it.

In that regard I'd take 1-0 in the 93rd minute every day of the week. That said, if this weeks little nuisances haven't had any effect on the team we do look pretty strong and very hard to beat.

Something was mentioned recently about a 'statement of intent'...well I reckon if we can put out a dominant display, resulting in a comfortable and deserved team win then that's just about the biggest statement the club could aspire to achieve.

Very interesting game of character.

Drop Lukaku for DCL, he scores a hat trick and gets a contract extension, Lukaku then comes off the bench as a back up option as the clock runs down. After the game Lukaku asks if he can sign the contract and Moshari says sorry mate you had your chance, we've moved on now you must do the same. Moyes needs more ex Everton players for his push in the championship next year

Good so far although the Schneiderlin injury is a huge blow, even though we talk about having a wealth of good options for central midfield, Schneiderlin is arguably no.1 in that area.

Great to see DCL score his first goal for the club, there has been some great movement from the attacking players plus Baines (who did well to nick the ball off was it Markovic?). Our defence has overall done well but towards the end it looked like they were pressing the self-destruct button.

Can't afford any complacency whatsoever.

Wee bit worried about this game now. I'm a Gareth Barry fan but we look a much more comfortable side with his energy and passing.

They've made positive changes and I think that polish fella is a decent player.

Despite our better possession we've given lukaku almost zero actual service. It'd be nice if we could create a chance every now and again.

He was studs up to block not maim, he missed ball and then pulled out as much as could.

Hope the scouts of the linked clubs are watching today's game. Lukaku has been anonymous.

Davies and Barkley really love play together don't they, making an excellent partnership. I think we'll kick it up a gear, get a 2nd and look to bring Lookman on
Hope the scouts went home after 60 minutes 😂😂😂😂
Love the celebration and the ovation

Probably just the post match high but it's not like we're sitting 10+ points behind 4th place. We're 5 points off Liverpool and we have to play them, if the team can keep our form there's no reason we can't get that last Champions League spot.

But we have played a ton more games than the top 7. If we can get something in the next two games, then it's time to get really excited. It could also be the make or break on Rom's decision to stay or go this summer. Beat those two away from home, it might convince him we are close.

Genuinely can't remember the last time we went on a run where, for the most part, we were comfortably winning games by decent margins.

We've been on a few runs obviously, but we've always struggled to score goals. Even our season finishing 4th I think it was a negative goal difference.

Feels fucking great just to win games with no drama.

Good win.
6th, 5th or a slim chance at 4th is still on - in our hands anyhow, although the games in hand situation for the clubs around us is a bummer.
Had a couple of quid on DCL first goal scorer and 4-0 as well, picking up €270. First one I've won in ages :)

Going to be honest - more than anything this season it is important for Rom to win the golden boot. If he wins it it helps us in two ways. It shows him he can be the best striker in the league with us. Also, if he doesn't resign other clubs will have to pay hand over fist to land the best striker in the EPL. Win-win

What I thought was impressive was that when Schneiderlein went off, Barry came on. The same level of handsomeness was maintained in the team. In the football world this is known as a handsome-neutral substitution.

It's quite nice when we're 2-0 up with 10 minutes to go that we can all say "there's 3 points in the bag". Last 2 seasons have just been terrible for that.
