Whenever I think of how grim transfer windows are I always think of how the benfica fans felt that summer. The mighty benfica signing Pembridge, brian deane, Dean Saunders and Steve harkness

Why were benfica signing players like fucking Brian Deane?

Pembridge was class at times.

Ha ha Pembridge

Always remember when sky had player cam. I watched Pembridge for twenty mins
He just ran up and down, never touching the ball and when he did he fell over

Met Pembridge once.

He tripped up on the stairs just before I said hi.

lol as mentioned above, he had a great left foot, im left footed also.. lol :p

Dacourt was good, but he wasnt here long enough for me to rate him, and i think he got better in his career, he came to us when he was pretty inexperienced (only had 1 team before us)
Unsworth has a 100% League record at home
Norwich 3-0 15th May 2016
Watford 3-2 5th Nov 2017
West Ham 4-0 29th Nov 2017
To Be Continued.....

Tony Clifton

i recall being on holiday when we bought him, i missed the charity shield due to the holiday, i got back. My mates had told me he scored,, was so hyped about him. but he was incredibly shit.. lol he only scored 2 goals for us, the charity shield one and i dunno who against, i think it was villa or west ham, then i remember him being dropped and going out on loan til his contract expired lol.

shame, he looked kinda sexy on the ball(close control) kinda like arteta but without the physical features to make him genuinely sexy.

I'd blocked out Vinny Sideways.  Hate these threads, always end up having all sorts of horrible flashbacks no matter how many greats get mentioned.  Always descends into grimness.

Some funnies come back though - I remember some fella in the bullens shouting at Pembridge "fuck off Steve Buscemi".  Not fair on the real Steve Buscemi I thought.

Beyond the obvious talents of our 80s legends, the likes of Beardsley, Kanchelskis, Arteta, Pienaar spring to mind as being absolute pleasures to watch.  Shame Dacourt didn't stick around, top talent.

Papa Smurf

Worst; Barry Horne (although special mention for rescuing us). Can't remember which match it was but he put in a rotten tackle once and I was up out of my seat appealing for him to get sent off cos he was stinking the place out!

Best; possibly Kanchelskis. He got fans up off their seats for the right reasons!
