Dude must be soooo pleased...someone finally learned to go to that ball across the 6 yard box!

In fairness he didn't hit it with so much speed this time around. Maybe he's learning too :)

That was in the 1980s.

I'm just surprised he played the whole 90. He is ace at doing those assists so that is not shocking at all!

Didn't the manager come out this week and say he needs to do more. Christ he's only been there 2 minutes and they've got his number already.

I see someone posted a vid of Gerards assist, but it's been taken off youtube so here it is. :)

It's so funny these days how  the guy providing the assist celebrates just as much as the goal scorer.

It's all in the stats. Years ago you had your goal scorers and that's it, now everything is broken down. Even chances created have their own mini league and are  held up as an accomplishment.

Beats a shit defender, puts a ball across the box to an unmarked teammate.

Phenomenal.

Fairs fair it's a fantastic ball. He's rolled it at the perfect weight through the defenders legs

However after the goal he bent over, put his hands on his knees, looked like he was blowing out his arse and wasn't seen again for the rest of the game.

Don't rate him in the slightest. It's still a fantastic bit of play though.

I hope this is a bit of a joke. Everyone was puffing, they were down to 10 men after 40 mins and down to 9 after 60 minutes. And then the "wasn't seen for the rest of the game" bit... For fucks sake the goal was scored in the 89th minute and they sat back clinging on for the last 5mins of injury time. Negative for the sake of it, so unless I'm missing the joke it's a load of bullshit
