Well! That's 21 points from the last ten games. 6 wins, 3 draws and one defeat. That shows things are improving all the time. Just over 2 points a game is champions league form if we had not had the rocky 8 or 9 game patch previous to this run of good results. I think we will make the europa league in sixth as we are only nine points behind second. If we keep that form up, one of the other five we could still possibly overtake are bound to have a bad patch. Will we get to europe? I think we will. :)

We will get into Europe if the two cups are won by teams in the top 6 and it comes down to 7th. We aren't catching any of them in my opinion.

Think there's too much ground to make up. I know we're in Feb but I think the top six will start to pull away now. We've not got the squad to keep a sustained attack on the teams above and we'll just solidify 7th. For what Koeman inherited I'd have snatched 7th off your hand. I get that we've played well at times this season and we probably deserve Europe but time will tell.

Just to clarify why I don't think we will if we went at 2.2 points per game for the rest of the season, which would be great form,  we'd get 69 points. For us to finish 6th it means one of the teams, say United as they are closest to get less than 20 points from 13 games, which is 1.5 points per game. All those sides above us, are too good to go at that rate for that long when they are competing for the champions league spots. Any of the rest would need to go at 1.4 points per game, again just not happening.

So we'd need to go at title challenging form, and one of the above would need to go at 8-9th level form for over a third of the season, the combination won't happen in my opinion.

We've been locked in to 7th for a while now, I genuinely think we won't move up or down from there between now and the end of the season.

Fingers crossed the right teams win the cups for it to be a Europa League spot.

Let's just consolidate this season
We aren't gonna get top four or top six so let's make sure we get seventh and if that brings Europe, sound

Then let's improve

If he was English his value would be 10-15.

Ever the football romantics, we're going to have to hope Man United win the league cup and any of United, City, Chelsea, Arsenal or Spurs win the FA Cup.

We're still only seven points behind United and there's 13 games to go. Any more improvement and there's no reason why we can't win ten out of the thirteen left. Maybe I'm being optimistic? I'm not giving up hope catching at least United yet though.

Of course we could do, but we've won 11 out of 25 so far so to suddenly win 10 out of 13 is very optimistic but not impossible of course.

But then if we did we'd get 71 points, United would need 23/24 points to finish above us which they will be hoping for quite a bit more than that. So even if we did that, I still don't think that would be enough to finish 6th. For me it's likely all the top 6 are getting 70+ points this season.

My concern isn't catching the top 6, as I think they're done and dusted in no particular order, but shaking West Brom off our asses.
Pulis is doing a great job to be fair and a bit of breathing space to 8th would be nice as I think 7th is about par for us this year, which would represent a good season if we got into Europe.
