I hope our players and the team, saw that. There's nothing like being dismissed by people who are not involved in the game to fire them up.

Half the forum have said far worse since this thread was started.

That's entirely different though isn't it? We are a small, insignificant little bunch on here and none of us are ex-professional footballers. To have an ex pro day it on national television should add even more inspiration to you.

Not really is it. If some of your own supporters don’t believe you’ve got a cat in hells chance why should you expect a neutral to?

Did either of them suggest it’s better the games called off due to adverse weather conditions or simply forfeit it?

I’d hope there’s enough professional pride and desire to win already within them because if they’re relying on a pair of pundits to stir them up Allardcye is fucked.

No one's saying it's the only way to fire them up, but it will help. It's a natural human instinct. Not even us blues are immune to that.

Keowns and Jenas opinions will have no bearing on the teams attitude whatsoever.

Well, as someone who has played in games where you e been written off in public I can tell you it makes a difference. You expect fans to be glass half empty at times, but to have someone who has played the same game as you believe that you have no chance would make me want to show them exactly how wrong they were

I’d like to hope so because like I said if we’re relying on a pair of pundits comments to get the players attitudes in order and focused we’re deep in the shit.

You keep saying "we're deep in shit" and the game hasn't even kicked off. I prefer to look on the bright side, despite the fact that the bookie's odds reflect our more realistic chances. There will be quite a few young lads taking to the pitch tomorrow if nothing else, perhaps encouraging their participation is a better idea than rolling over. The comments from Keown and Jenas, if seen by the players will have had some effect on those players. As I've already mentioned, 'it's human nature'.

Agree with Ross, really. The Soccer Saturday lot have just written us off as well. If you were a neutral pundit, looking at the form of the teams and our record at Anfield, you'd be mad to tip anything other than damage limitation.
Jeff: That's not the way to win.
Kathie: Is there a way to win?
Jeff: There's a way to lose more slowly.
