DCL put in an immense shift there.
Along with the much aligned Ashley Williams

Pretty turgid performance but that's a point we haven't had for a good few seasons now.

Felt for Martina there, he tried his best but it's hard being up against the most in-form player in the league on your wrong foot.

Thought Williams was absolutely immense as was JJK. Pickford absolute safe hands.

If you'd of been told we'd have 7 points from 9 after that Southampton game you'd of asked what they were smoking.

COYB.

That was really the only time we look a bit ragged at the back. The difference you have to say from earlier in the season, even weeks ago is night and day.

I agree and there was a big push on one of our lads half way line when they got the ball, but of course goes unnoticed ........... 3 shots on target they had - just 3

Tactically, it was the most negative I have ever seen Everton set up for a very long time.

BUT, we won a point from a moment of quality from Rooney, and a good bit of forward play from DCL.

Delighted with the result, happy with the defensive performance, but we were absolutely woeful in attack. Even with big Sam's tactics (which i thought were spot on), Niasse and DCL needed to hold the ball up much better than they did, and we needed to press a little more in the first half.

It's not all about being negative against a team with pace setup up like Liverpool to play long ball to get around the pressing, it's a smart tactic, but we'd need better distribution (not just hoofing) and probably a stronger presence up top.

Don't agree mate. Mane not playing in a team mate saved us. No chance at 2-0.
Give it a fucking****

But at 2-0 no result for us. Defensively I agree much better and Sam does give you some confidence defending and I assume it's only going to get better. In the context of the match Mane's failure to tee up a team mate was biggest moment of the match.

But we only had 11 men

I'll take a defensive performance and point there every time.
