People keep talking about Heitinga being small. He is yes - but also intelligent. He can play the opponents offside he can organize and mostly when he battle in  the air he doesn't go for the ball - but attack the opponent on his body making it hard to chest play etc. Numerous of times you will se Heitinga defend without going for the ball - that's called intelligent - Taylor did it 2-3 times yesterday and was brilliant. Distin and Jags both are so focussed on getting to the ball and by doing so often makes a terrible (if any) clearance.

Just can't believe that in the last minute with an obvious long ball gonna be played that it was 2 defenders against 2 strikers. Surely we should have had more back against that tactic. Such a shame. Nice to see vic play with a bit of passion and desire. Looked a yard quicker as well. Maybe there is still a bit of hope for him.

This has probably all been said earlier in the thread, but Neville was criminally bad yesterday - no imagination and constantly going backwards or sideways. Jags looked very shaky and the constant lumping it out of defence is getting right on my tits.
Everyone's a building burning, with no-one to put the fire out.

This really was a game we should have won, and I'm not talking about the two disallowed goals.
Which is a crime in itself. How can that idiot of a linesman look at himself in the mirror this morning?

We started off really well, with very neat triangles between Baines, Pienaar and Fellaini.
The lead was fully deserved, although we should have been three up at half-time.
Pienaar had two excellent chances.

Second half, the pace dropped, and we let the toons have more of the ball (it was 69-31% for us early on!)
Their first goal was a very soft one to give away, of course Osman must shoulder some of the blame, but Howard didn't look good either.
We did, luckily, get back in front, thanks to Vic, and that's where it should have stayed.
We really did deserve to win.

Their second was an equally soft giveaway.
For a preferred central defensive partnership, Distin and Jags didn't quite understand each other on a simple over the top ball.
It cost us dear.
Well the linesman too, on a good day we win 5-2, and it's a normal result.

Neville in central midfield really has passed it's sell by date.
This needs to be adressed against Swansea.

How long have osman and neville been at the club? In these 7 years have they ever fucking come close to being a centre mid partnership? How moyes can justify this selection when he has one of the best CM's in the prem up front. Fair enough is we had a gibson, rodwell or arteta available for the club then i can see the logic but to absolutely kill us in a vital area of the pitch as cm the enginr room! in order to have the opportunity to play fellaini there is inexcusable and moyes should hang his head in shame because ultimately we all know fellaini will be move back for swansea. im convinced we wud of been able to control the game a lot better at the start of second half with a more imposing and controlled look to the middle of the pitch

We had a hungry coleman who looks really sharp sat on the bench. Surely a five year old cud of picked a better line up than moyes tonight. He as the obsession of always playing ossie, neville and hibbert and with all the best intentions they have for the club its too many weak links on one right hand side.

                                  Fellaini  Ossie

Coleman                                                             Pienaar

                          Mirallas
                                               Jelavic

No need for the 36 year old right back to be in that midfield unless we are desperate

Quality post. Exactly what I was saying for the whole game. It's like playing with 10 men with Neville in there. Can't believe he lasted 90mins. Pathetic!
