In terms of clear cut chances they are probably spot on. They can't really show highlights of unrelenting possession in the first half otherwise they'd just be showing the first half.

They didn't show any of our build up play though. It was embarrassingly one sided first half. If you're gonna tell the story of the game, that's a big part of it.

Really wish it had been Rom to win the game when he went through on his right foot right before the end.

Encouraging to see him celebrating like a mad man when we did get the winner despite missing out on the records up for grabs.

I don't think strikers care about consecutive scoring records as much as the media do, they know it's mostly down to luck. They care more about overall number of goals and hat tricks and suchlike.

I imagine that is more of a time issue, i havent watched it, but i imagine we weren't on first like haha.

We had tons more shots on target than they did. Can only think of one time they really troubled Howard.

Good that. I'm now bevvied handing out likes in this thread like they're going out of fashion.

Returned from family Christmas, 720 miles of driving today skirting tornadoes in Texas... rain was so heavy that I couldn't get an audio stream from the official App.

I shall now collapse asleep a very happy man, having seen the great celebrations from Clev's goal :)  Love to see a little team passion/brotherhood.

Stoked with this result. Winning like that can really shift momentum.

Short break now but we can approach the next game with renewed hope.

Waiting for the family to show up for the annual boxing day dinner get together thing and pissed off they're late and they all finally show up cheering and laughing and I'm on the step giving it the James Brown - they'd been watching the game at the hotel didn't want to leave til the end as I'm a miserable cunt when we lose and what a fucking day that was.

The head on Cleverley!

Anyone else keep seeing other results and thinking ffs, if only Everton had won and then remembering we did, it's like a mini Cleverley goal every time.

Having endured some truly awful Boxing Day performances , I really enjoyed yesterdays game . Some of our play was superb in comparison to an expensively established Newcastle . We were the away side and fully deserved the result . Even better that it came from the last header of the match . Festive cruelty inflicted upon Geordies is amusing .

Great way to win of course but for me the end doesn't justify the means - we are still quite a way off. For all the nice build up play we don't actually create that many genuine chances and we still look shaky at the back. We are also happy to engage in a basketball-type game which I don't approve of - I'd rather watch us actually manage a game properly and this has been the problem most of the season. Make no mistake we could easily have lost that yesterday.
