we have a good record against the City, and they havn't been playing well but are winning, Think we will win 2-1, Osman and Baines penalty for us, Silva for them
-
Badly want to beat them, fucking hate that club more than any other.

Draw.
-
Draw for me too but only if Moyes doesn't start the same team.
-
2-1 city
-
We'll turn up for this game I think.

West Brom?
-
Please don't mention the West Brom game, it still gives me nightmares!! :-X
-
West Brom?
That was more a capitulation. Has there ever been a true forfeit where one team doesn't show up at all?
-
i dont know how long our luck is going to last against city, forever i hope!!
a load of us from blackpool (e.f.c and m.c.f.c) all meet up and go on the train for city games and its a top day!!
much better recently seen as though they cant seem to touch us!!
im gonna say 2-1 to us not arsed who scores

Jealousy makes you.... pessimistic

Happened in a Scotland game a while back. Referee allowed the team to score three unopposed goals and then called FT, as far as I recall.
Maybe I imagined that though.

When it comes to City it isn't luck we generally are the better team when we play them. How long that will continue...
-

Got banned for 'gloating' after the game at their place earlier in the season.
-
Could be interesting. Lescott getting a run the in team as well. I'm sure this will be his first time back.
I think we'll win 3-1.

You right. Lescott will not be able to cope with the awesomeness that is Anichibe.
They do struggle with crosses do Man City so hopefully Baines can provide Cahill with some good chances.
-
Hope cahill plays. he's a bogeyman for them

yeah i know, luck was a bad choice of word

Yes it is, anyone who thinks we were anything other than dominated last time out is deluding themselves.

Hope we're not a bunch of cunts to Lescott.

I created another thread saying they needed to stop their us against the world attitude amongst other things.
-

In general we have had their number though mate. They are the only team in the top four right now that I always feel quite confident of us getting a result.
-
Let's hope we can continue to be their bogey team, got a feeling Moyes will stick with victor up front, with Cahill just behind, don't rate City's full backs defensively so I'd like us to get at them. Not necessarily the team I would play, but I think we will line up like this:
Howard
Hibbert Jagielka Distin Baines
Coleman Arteta Neville Osman
Cahill
Anichebe

swap arteta with osman and you may be correct.
-
Beckford up top is a must.
-
Beckford up top is a must.
Why so? We playing at home so Cahill as a deep lying striker and a 5 man midfield behind him
-
He will start with anichibi uptop Cahill deep lying striker
Anichibi did well against city last time and they'v been making
Noises all week of him prooving himself in remaining games
Would prefer beckford up top myself !!
-
Who the flying fuck is Anichibi?
-
Who the flying fuck is Anichibi?
he is our new striker did you not know he has came up through the youth teams Ha Ha
-
Who the flying fuck is Anichibi?
There are some cracking spelling mistakes on this site at times!Anichibi, Heitinger, Distan and even the odd 'David Moyles' are amongst my favourites
-
Howard
Neville. Jags. Distin. Baines
Heitinga
Arteta
Coleman. Osman. Billy
Beckford
Would start like this.... Maybe guaye for Billy tho!?!?
-
Oops forgot about Rodwell.....
Swap him for Billy... Then swap Rodwell and Arteta around
I reckon by the noises being made in press tho
Anichebe will start up top instead of beckford
-
here is a quick stat/tactics based preview on the citteh game....

I must have been watching a different game to you then.
I saw him not really do anything (not really his fault, no service) and then get sent off for 2 silly challenges.
-
Anichebe had a good game against City Verm, so perhaps you were watching a different game.
-
To be honest Verm I think you'll struggle to find anyone who agrees with your opinion of Anichebe's last performance against City. He lead the line well whilst on the pitch and was very unlucky to see himself sent off.
-
Have to admit anichebe did very well against city last time
He did the job he was there to do very well
Then got booked for a foul committed on HIM
Then a harsh second yellow
Maybe the type of game that does suit him as s lone striker
More than beckford who should of started last week
Certain players for certain games.. SAF is a master at it
We have not learnt that yet!
-
Howard
Hibbo
Baines
Jags
Distin
Ossie
Heitinga
Neville
Arteta
Rodwell
Victor
Moyes scared to lose the coveted 7th place!! heitinga centre mid and Anichebe up front! ffs

is that official lineup?

too early surely
-
dont call me surely. thats my aunty

I've got an Auntie Shirley. Just saying.
-
2-0 today!! :)
-
EFC EVERTON XI: Howard, Hibbert, Baines, Distin, Jagielka, Neville, Arteta, Osman, Rodwell, Heitinga, Anichebe
-
Subs: Mucha, Coleman, Bilyaletdinov, Gueye, Vellios, Cahill, Beckford
-
5 centre midfielders in the team, brilliant moyes brilliant!
-
Rodwell in the Cahill role then. Suppose we weren't going to see anything different apart from Heitinga for Cahill. Sigh...
-
hopefully osman rodwell and arteta will mix it up, swap around etc rather than just be static 451
-
How many defenders in that team? Not impressed really. Are we really using Osman and Arteta as wingers?
-
Why haven't we got a striker in the team?
-
Why haven't we got a striker in the team?
because Victor is a "striker"
-
Pretty boring line up. Especially for a home game. Can't see Anichebe scoring
-
not impressed. zero goal threat. anichebe couldnt score in a brothel. we will sit back just as we did against united.
-
would like to see gueye on left wing. coleman on right wing to give us pace down the flanks and see what they can achieve. That way if we do get pinned back we have a decent outlet.
-
This could be the game for Victor to show his worth. He can do a good job physically when he wants. Let him run the City defence ragged, Osman can pop in the gaps left. This is the right team for this game.
-
http://myp2p.eu/broadcast.php?matchid=115775&part=sports (http://myp2p.eu/broadcast.php?matchid=115775&part=sports) - streams aplenty ;D :woohoo:
-
Wow, we are seemingly trying to have a competition with Mancini as to how many defensive players we can fit into one team? I would love to be proved wrong but that is one boring/uninspiring line up. Did Moyes forget we are the home team?
We have 7 defensive players in that line up! Maybe we are trying to lull them to sleep in the first half and bring on players who might actually have a goal threat in the second half to catch them unawares. I say second half but being realistic the last 20 mins or less.
-
After seeing that lineup can I change my 2-0 prediction please?
-
Streams for those in need:

on in the pub....... think i am gonna need lots of strongbow to get me thru this!!!
-
Has anyone in that team got more than 3 goals this season? Awful selection, let's hope it comes off.
-

Baines!
-
It appears that Baines is the top scorer in that line up with like 5 goals.
Still we live in hope.
-
osman
-
From open play the only player in our team who you'd think would have any real likelihood of scoring is Osman. The others are capable from time to time of chipping in but they are once in a blue moon type players.
-
Maybe this is Hibbert's day...
-
For someone who is the future CB of England we sure use Rodders a lot for attacking reasons.
-
I think the Neville-Heitinga partnership in DM has done us well. Arteta on the left (did very well away at Newcastle). If Rodwell is going to play a more attacking role supporting Big Vic, then I don't mind the line-up at all.
I may be chewing on those words at half-time. Vic really does have to step up soon.
-
anyone think maybe anichebe is just playing to prove whether that he is good enough to be at everton next year?
-
It'll be interesting to see how exactly we line up. I'd imagine Rodwell of the three DM's would be the furthest forward but I've yet to see him look the part in that position in the PL.
-
Here he is!!! Big Dunc! What a man!!

Tim cahill missed a penalty last week apparently!

Should have been 0-1 down then!! Uchh this could not be a fun afternoon.

How shit is Hibbert? Ball watching every time

Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk

Osman should have taken a touch there, no need to thrash at it like that.
-
Great knock down by Vic shame the shot was wank.
-
End of season football and both Osman and Hibbert have reverted to type
-
Huh, I thought Anichebe had scored this season, seems not.

Certainly not hibbo s best game so far

-
Uch there we go! :(
-
Well that was too fucking easy, what the hell was Distin doing diving in?
-
Fuck. That one is on Distin.
-
Anichebe isolated upfront
-
Thats about the 5th time this season Distin has done some dumbshit thing like that which has ended up in an opponent scoring.
He can be a complete fuckwit at times. No fucking concentration.
-
Feels like this could be over already.
-
Anichebe isolated upfront
yep, would expect to see heitinga for cahill, would rather beckford
Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk
-
We deserve to be down. Outplayed so far. Only Vic looking threatening. Rodwell chasing hard. Everybody else a shambles
-
We are so stationary in attack, the only people moving are Vic, Rodwell and Osman. One of Neville of Heitinga needs to be showing more and given another option or we'll just be relying on the counter-attack and the occasional cross.
-
Think we probably needed to get the first goal here, really can't see us coming back.
-
This is poor now, we are offering nothing. Long ball after long ball
-
playing central midfielders in wide positions doesnt help
-
Great tracking back by Vic there.
-
I fucking hate that lofted ball neville Always does
Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk
-
Have we had a shot on target yet?
Terrible selection by Moyes, too many defenders inviting too much pressure on us. Too many players just getting rid and it just means we offer nothing going forward.
-
I fucking hate that lofted ball neville Always does
Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk
Yea, that made no sense. He had an easy pass into Rodwell and instead he sends a useless ball down the line.
-
moyes show some courage man make the team more positive
-
Vic is battering them. Needs some support
-
Instead of three men standing over the ball why not get in the box?

Agreed playing well
Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk
-
wtf that made no sense, we had a good chance to cross with either Arteta or Baines and we send it down the line to hibbert
-
Poor performance so far. Osman, Anichebe and Baines are the only ones playing half decent.
Rodwell and Hibbert off, and bring Coleman and Beckford/Cahill on. One of the latter two would give Vic some support up front and Coleman would give us pace, penetration and an outlet down the right.
-
Dowd you prick
Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk
-
i like distin's effort but imo we need to replace him and move on. Defensively our record has been very poor ever since he entered the starting line up. Looks like he's lost half a yard and would have been an ideal defender.......5 years ago. People used to moan about yobo for the odd mistake but he was never this bad.
-
I'm not sure we have enough subs to fix this line up.
-
Take Neville off and put Coleman on at least. Then we can move both Osman and Rodwell into the middle and get some pace down the right and just let Heitinga sit in front of the back four with both Osman and Rodwell pushing forward.
-
come on everton step it up second half and lets play some sexy attacking football for once
-
Neville off and Bilya on to play behind Vic. Get the ball to Vic and hope he wins the header, chest etc and let Bilya shoot from distance. Only chance we have of scoring
-
come on everton step it up second half and lets play some sexy attacking football for once
shakeyheadman - not everton mate
-
Somebody please tell me wtf Neville offers to our team. He is useless.
-
I didn't think we were as bad as some of the comments on here. The biggest problem is that although playing well, Victor is isolated and there have been too many hoofed passes to nowhere from Neville in particular.
I'd like to see Coleman on for Neville, with Rodwell or Osman going to the centre. I also think Beckford for Rodwell might be a good move too. Would be surprised to see subs before 60 minutes though.
-
Hibbert is worse
-
Take any 2 of Neville/Rodwell/Heitinga off. Replace them with players who know what to do in midfield.
It's a given we'll see Cahill at some point. After that probably Beckford and Coleman will probably be the other two. I'd have liked to see Gueye and Billy too but probably not likely unless they change the rules and allow us 5 subs.
Dreadful by Moyes...how do you pick a side like that at home? I just hope we change it at HT, but he seemingly only does that to the usual whipping boys Beckford and Billy.
-
Hibbert is worse
I would say equally poor! Both break down our move better than the opposition.
-
I'd prefer to keep Rodwell on, he needs minutes on the pitch. I just think having two DMs neither of which are pushing forward at all is causing us to just hoof to Vic or play it down the wing all the time. Rodwell hasn't been bad, Neville has though. Coleman for Neville and Osman to the middle will do for now. With one or both of Cahill and Beckford ready to come on if/when needed.
-
Anyone got a good stream? Can't seem to get on sopcast today
-
It might be interesting to try Billy behind Anichebe, he is one of the few players we have who could score a goal in a game like this where most of our shooting opportunities seemingly are going to be from a way out.
-
Beckford for hibbert is a good choice but neville on a yellow at right back?

Hibbert taken off for Beckford. We seem to be shoving Vic out wide though.
-
Wow, some attacking pressure at last.
-
Putting on lots of pressure start of the 2nd half.

Should have laid that off for Rodwell. That is one of my biggest beefs with Beckford, although I suppose strikers are supposed to be selfish.

Osman in the best form of his life? Goal scoring at least.

yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Big Dunc would have been proud of that header!

If we hold on to this I'm tempted to give Moyes man of the match for the best substitutions he's made all season, what a turnaround.

What an appalling start, that matched the selection. But as harsh I was about that line up credit to Moyes for making the right changes.
-
fucking brilliant win
-
what happened at the end there
-
Looks like we're heading for 7th place finish.
-
yesssssssssssssssssssssssss

Neville, yet again, shows how you do it with a positive attitude. it's no coincidence that Phil drops to RB in place of the hapless Hibbert and we outplay Champions League contenders.
-
Neville, yet again, shows how you do it with a positive attitude. it's no coincidence that Phil drops to RB in place of the hapless Hibbert and we outplay Champions League contenders.
He was indispensable today. What happens when he goes, I don't think Arteta or Jags can do his job.
-
Great stuff, some ballsy performances out there today, loved the passion the likes of Osman, Neville, Heitinga, Distin and Howard showed today. Also credit to Victor Anichebe, good performance by him today, that type of showing will help him win back the fans
-
Fantastic result there. Osman has, once again, been amazing. In his current form, Capello should definitely at least consider him...
-
Great result, and a fantastic turnaround. Osman, Vic, Arteta, Jags all played great, and Beckford cause them that extra bit of trouble in the second half that was needed.
Good performance, and a great result. Happy to remain City's bogey team, and we remain the only team to have done the double over Mancini's Man City (twice now).
-
Fantastic result. Hate the horrible classless council house pricks. Great comeback.
Pisspoor negative tactics to start the game tho, leading to a dreadful 1st half. Moyes needs to start learning not to be so defensive at home.
-

true but don't hold your breath

Neville was great second half but he was terrible first half.

Did anyone else catch the extended full time aftermath on BBC1 then? Neville and Mancini having to be separated, great stuff :D
-
Neville, yet again, shows how you do it with a positive attitude. it's no coincidence that Phil drops to RB in place of the hapless Hibbert and we outplay Champions League contenders.
Neville was great in the 2nd half no question, but it was as much about removing the unnecessary defensive players from the midfield and the introduction of Beckford who gave us some movement up top.
We started with waaay too many defensive players.
-
Beckford make a big difference today, this movement caused them trouble, created space and Big vic played 100% better once in 2nd half with becks.
We play much better in a 442 COYB
-
Neville was great second half but he was terrible first half.
When he reverts to his natural and best position he is superb
-
Moyes obviously called on big Dunc to give the lads a half time pep talk. He frightened them into playing like Everton for at least 1 half of the game!
Credit to Vic for his neverending chasing, and Osman for the brave header. Credit all round for showing the passion and character so lacking in some of our other games vs lower placed teams. Beckford and Cahill for Hibbert and Rodwell made SUCH a massive difference to our play, I dont care what anybody says, when Beckford is on the pitch, we create chances.
The fact Cahill came on meant it took a lot of defensive pressure (of City) away from the likes of Distin, who made up for his earlier discretion. He is still a fuckwit waiting to happen at times in games though...
Game of 2 halves, yadda yadda, was true, but we took our chances, they didnt. Another double over big spending Citeh. LOVE IT!

I thought Vic was good first half too, but in the second with Beckford he had the chance to actually play the ball and run at players a bit. Would like to see what kind of partnership those two could develop over the remaining games.
-
When he reverts to his natural and best position he is superb
It's a weird one though he said himself he prefers playing DM! When he dropped to right back on a yellow I was worried but he was excellent.
-
Did anyone else catch the extended full time aftermath on BBC1 then? Neville and Mancini having to be separated, great stuff :D
think it spilled over from the coleman tackle on lescott. neville was arguing with mancini but looked like nothing major
-
"They played long ball, long ball, long ball and they scored twice."
Christ Mancini is a bitter cunt.

lolol this dispite none of our goals came from a long ball
-
I think the crowd helped us there and got the players fired up after 1 or 2 challenges went flying in. Vic was excellent today. There was no rolling on the ground, sulking and throwing his hands in the air which just shows what a difference a good attitude makes. On this form he definately has something to offer.
Beckfords movement was excellent, dragging defenders out of position which we could then exploit and he was unlicky with the Hart save. He has to start against WBA
-
And Citeh played long ball, long ball, long ball and they scored once.
We won.

Such a bitch, didn't we have more possession? Yes in the first half we played long ball but in the second half we had a great mix of on the floor and direct play, which is what is needed to win games.
He can eat it, hope next time we play them he gets battered by a flying Heitinga tackle.

I think once the crowd got behind Vic he upped it as well. Honestly, a bit of confidence and support from the crowd can do wonders for a young player. Hope to see more of that from him, and hopefully the crowd stays on his side.
-
To be fair the crowd were good to Vic from the off as they could see him battling, they came alive for the whole team when they give us some passion. Credit to the team for pulling their fingers out their arses second half and credit to Moyes for actually changing things. It still pains me though that he doesn't see that the way we set up second half is the way we should be starting nearly all our games!
-
Great turnaround 2nd half, it's fairly rare that we're able to turn a game round so decisively like that.
Good performances all round, but I think Anichebe would be motm for me for his performances in both halves. I hope that it sinks in with him that he's capable of performances like that if only he gets his head right. Beckford also made a big difference with his movement, and the pair of them look like they enjoy playing with each other.
Mancini can suck a pigeon cock as far as I'm concerned.
-
Great second half performance as a team.... one of the best headed goals i have ever seen by osman too. City looked good first half but we bullied them second half and played football too. Mancini is a whining bitch. Fuck him
On a second note i know they have spent this and that but in all honesty I would only take Silva and Ya Ya out of there side
-
Play more players who can attack = scoring more goals. Neville's best position is RB though.
As for Mancini he has done everything he could this season to avoid getting 4th. And I'd agree we didn't have a clue first half and did hit it long as we couldn't do anything else BUT our second half performance that won us the game was not about long ball.
-
I have say I loved Coleman's contribution to the game. He managed to tick off about half a dozen people inside of 10 mins. Great challenge on Balotelli near the sideline to relieve the pressure we were under at the time too.
-
first time we have won a game after losing at half time for around 7 years

Bluemoons a good read today.........

Bluemoons a good read today.........
Not really interested what they have to say
-
Interesting to read other peoples ideas of the game
-
It's understandable being biased towards your team, but they are behaving as big-time as their bank balance.
-
Interesting to read other peoples ideas of the game
Normally id say yes but I know what I would read on that site.
The ground is shit, the team are long ball yard dogs and they were robbed (but thats what scousers do). They hate Moyes, hope we go down and the "blue dippers" are jealous of them etc.
They are not the brightest.
-
Yeah Bluemoon is always funny though, you know what your going to get before you go on.
One of them called Rodwell a dirty scouse scally.
Apparently we're cheaters, biters, nibblers? lolol kickers and tuggers.
Dippers, twats, scum, vermin.
Having said all this I fucking hate them so I don't care what they think about us.
-
great fucking win
-
anyone see the manc scum muppet thinking he was mad by their coaches?
-
did you chin him lid? go ed, fucking smash him!
nar but was tempted to, there was a little scramble tho, you pencil
-
Best quote i read was that we are worse divers than barca and real put together. Brilliant
Anyway 3pts was well earned.... and some welcome performances too

who said this? cant remember seeing one dive by us?

Arteta goes down quicker than a Las Vegas hooker if you so much as look at him these days, did it twice today, but nothing to write home about or that affected the game
i agree he goes down easy
-
Moyes: "You can't buy team spirit can you?"
-
Everton captain Phil Neville on Twitter: "Proud of my team - no better feeling when Goodison is rocking like that - COYBs! PS a game lasts 90 minutes - you don't get three points at half-time!"
:)
-
anyone know what happened with coleman and nev? my eye sight isnt good so hard to see from the upper gwlady me mate said coleman got hit tho?
-

Coleman doesn't mind a good dive either. I don't remember many being particularly blatant or winning us anything important though.
-
landondonovan Landon Donovan
Come on the Toffees!!!!!!!!!
-
Yaas. Major, major yaas.
-
Osman man of the match Vic a close second I was made up with him today second half outstanding, awful first half team performance jags, hibbo and arteta the worst culprits and heitinga anonymous second half they finally got fired up raised the tempo and went for it when we do that we always get a result

Extremely brave by Osman; I'm not sure too many others would have gone for it with 15st - or whatever - of Kompany flying at them.
Also, interesting to see Heitinga's reaction to the goal.
-
Jags has taken a dive to win a pen this season too. part of the "gamesmanship" these days unfortunately. If you dont play the game you risk the points.
-
First I've seen of any of the game. Brilliant header that from Ossie.
-
You'd think by now that Mancini would realise that we just don't give up and lie down for them just because they can afford to buy players like Dzeko for £27m who at the moment is as much use as a chocolate fireguard . Moyes did what he had to at half time and his team talk must have been good because the players stepped up a gear and City couldn't handle it , when Cahill came on you could almost see them shrink into their shells .
We rode our luck in the first half but then how many teams did we let off the hook ourselves in the early part of the season ? After Tim Howard's great save from Toure they never gave us a problem and the substitutions were well made and effective . It's proved what I've thought all along , we an give anyone a game if the circumstances are right and Mancini should look at himself very closely for underestimating us which he clearly did by the half time by stating that he could not see City lose ....... Bad mistake against one of the worst teams to assume you've got the better of . A great performance by the lads ... and don't forget we were unable to call on Fellaini and Saha
-
For which goal?
First goal he gets the ball to carry the game on and the second he celebrates with Moyes.
I meant the second - celebrating with Moyes - but either will do. :)
-
noone knows what happened with coleman and nev the no?
-
listened to the game when i got back from town and was proper bouncing when ossie scored the second, seen the goals on motd both headers are beautiful, ossies especially considering the size of him
the city fans really hate playing us, dont they?
-
Watched the game on Football First. I didn't think we were as bad in the first half as the thread made out.
Good to see Vic being the monster he can be when he's arsed, really gave the defence a tough time.
Two really good goals from Ossie and Distin. Ossie is in the form of his life, even the doubters don't post on matchday threads anymore, amazing how they suddenly become "busy" on Saturday's when we're playing well. Coincidence?
Also good to see Moyes make a positive change at half time when we need to go after the game.
Oh if only..............
-
Calls for Osman to be in the England team. He has to be a regular now. Has earned his place and half won me over.
-
hahah brilliant:
Phil Neville on Twitter boasting about the cross for the goal to Landon Donovan, and his response...
@landondonovan You were trying to clear that ball RT @fizzer18: @landondonovan u not seen my cross-watch and learn pal? How did u go on?
