Post by: Snipellis11 on May 08, 2012, 12:04:49 AM
Looks like it's going to be pretty close to a sell out :), got my ticket for the game the other week, anyone else going to this?

Got ours last week ,a real struggle to get 3 together . The barcodes will bring a good following obviously. Just a few seats left now so should sell out.

This game should be a good indicator as to how we have improved or not. Their forwards are quite prolific and handy to say the least, but they are prone to defensive mistakes. No predictions from me on this one. Nearly every time I have done that they have played shit. :-X

2-0 to the blues Jelavic and Pienaar to sign us off in style

                  Howard

Hibbert Heitinga Jagielka Baines

Osman  Fellaini Barkley Pienaar
                    Cahill

                    Jelavic

Got a strange feeling that Moyes will throw Barkley in there should Neville/Gibson not be fit.  I'm backing Baines to be fit

Drawing all the comments together, it would seem that general opinion is that it will be a keenly-contested game. Newcastle will be keen to win in order to cement their European CL ambitions and we will want to win because of our desire (need !) to be above the RS (not to mention the money attributable to the higher placed team).

All points to a high scoring draw, which probably means 0-0 or 0-2 as we never seem to win the key games !

As my wife is a Newcastle supporter, I pray that the above will not apply and we will win 3-0, having played NUFC on one of their bad days !!!!!!!!!!

But all the games are being played at the same time. What difference does it make?

It's to protect attendance at games in lower leagues (not that there are many other fixtures this time of year).

At least all the teams finish together. Was strange when they used to have odd final games left over in midweek.

I assume it's this...

                 Howard
Hibbert  Jags   Heitinga    Baines

Osman  Neville Gibson Pienaar
                     Felli
                   Jelavic

Only concern is Osman on the right. He isn't great there. Highlights how badly we need someone like Drenthe or Donovan out there.

Ah the good old Hibbert Osman combination :)

Well, I hope the boys do it. Not that much pressure on them, so I expect them to at least put a good shift in to get the victory.

Will check the result in about 10 hours time.

aaah the old Osman and Hibbert combo...bright side they've contributed more than enrique and downing -
Hibbert - 0 goals - 3 assists
Osman - 4 goals - 1 assist
= FREE
Downing - 0 goals - 0 assists
Enrique - 0 goals - 0 assists
= 26 million

im not moaning

I was wondering, can you even play football?

Hibbert is an excellent defensive RB, okay his attacking play is sometimes lacking but he has created a few this term
Osman is a very gifted technical player, his passing, vision and movement are good, as is his work rate

Excellent performance from Everton made it look very easy 20 minutes of Newcastle not doing much but keeping the ball and we looked fully comfortable for the rest of it gutted for Hibbo and the own goal no shout from Howard

Hibbert is an excellent defensive RB
I bet you feel rather foolish

That was howards fault, Hibbert did the right thing nodding it back with the striker on his shoulder, if Howard was coming he should have shouted. Really he should have stayed

Missed the first half- what did Cabaye do to the ball boy that's got all of us up in arms?

What was Cahill on about and if it was for the ball boy he is well out of order. Cabeye apologised at half time to the ball bow. Came over, said sorry and gave him a hug.

I can't see it being about the ballboy, not that long after the event.  I'm guessing Cabaye must have said something to Cahill to make him react like that, at least I hope that's the case.

Still confused. What happened with the ball boy?

Cabaye pushed a ballboy to get the ball off him during the first half.  It didn't look like the ballboy did anything to wind him up either.

The match was in reality much easier than it looked on paper.
Good defensive display, bar the Howard omittance to to shout he was out coming for the ball, and better attackingwise.
Three good goals, and a very soft one to give away.

It's what I've been thinking too.
With him, he's constantly having a go at our home grown players in Leon Osman, Tony Hibbert and Victor Anichebe.
You'd almost think he's been rejected by the academy, and is jealous of other players success.
But that would be giving him too much credit.
It's been whispered that his handicap at golf is 20, so him being any good at footie is a no no.

Regurgitating the same shit is extremely boring though.
Luckily most people realise this, and give him the contempt he deserves.

Not a great advertisement for the Academy, is it? Three useless individuals. They should be embarrased collecting the huge wages they are paid. Osman contributed nothing today and Hibbert ruined a clean sheet for Howard. How useless do you have to be to never score a goal (for your team)

There you go again...
Most people with a few brain cells will know whose fault it really was.
Tim Howard should shout for the ball when leaving his line.
Which he obviously didn't.

Oh, and the three players are in essence squad players.
Continuously getting on their backs (which will probably account for most of your posts..) is getting to be very tedious.

Do us all a favour, will you..

I assume it's this...

                 Howard
Hibbert  Jags   Heitinga    Baines

Osman  Neville Gibson Pienaar
                     Felli
                   Jelavic

Was this the line up then today?  I didn't see it but the report said we were playing some good stuff.  I was surprised to hear that with apparently no creativity in the centre.

They're good players, not incredible players but good competitive premier league players and I'm glad they play for Everton.

Anyone defending the inclusion of Osman, Hibbert, and Anichebe in the team has no right to complain if we finish mid-table. Any team containing those three has over achieved if it avoids relegation. I want more for EFC. That means getting rid of players like those.

Yes, because with an even thinner squad, preferably one with no recognised right back we would perform a lot better.

Anichebe doesn't play regularly.

Osman is vastly under-rated

Even if for some bizarre reason you rate Neville our best RB Hibbert certainly wouldn't be far behind.

But of course your a massive WUM.
