Title: Failing to beat Burnley
Post by: Chris on December 28, 2009, 08:12:17 AM
-if we fail to beat them this time then it'll be 9 home matches without a win in all competitions
- that'll equal our worst ever home winless run - that's ever in our entire history - which we suffered back in 1957

F*ck me that's terrible isn't it.

I still think that if we just get a win now we can start the ball rolling from the ever so slight momentum of all those draws which aren't good points wise but do mean we're not in the habit of losing quite so much.

But come Tuesday, the world will still be spinning on its axis.

What I'm trying to say, is that records are only useful in a general way. This record tell us we are doing bad, as we know, but it makes it seem like this is the worst we've played in 50 years, which is not true. But I think we'll win, so it won't matter  :hmph:

Keep the hope, keep the faith.

Hand me a bottle of Scotch and a handgun
It'll taste awful if you stir it with a handgun.

Great win and that will be a huge confidence boost to the lads. It doesn't paper over the fact that we failed to take our chances until Vaughan scored, or the fact that we looked shaky at times again, but we got a win in the league at home and kept a clean sheet for the first time in a long time.

Just what we needed, I wouldn't have accepted anything less than a win.

God must be great, but saying so is yellow card-worthy ;)

Made up for Vaughan and Peanut deserved one for all his hard work recently.

Hopefully a springboard for a good run in the second half of the season.

We needed to win that to give us breathing space from the drop zone as we have some hard teams to play in the coming weeks. The easy part of the season is over, now it's down to business.
