Spurs will draw tomoz, so Leicester will tear us a new arse and win next week. They have been phenomenal and played with great focus and intensity and the focus of their intensity has been, well, intense and focused and nothing short of phenomenal. They didn't do as well in cup games, but judge  them over the season, not these last few months

Chelsea I'd categorize more as apathetic than hapless but for this game they'll at least give a bit of a sh*t. Is a derby after all. Spurs haven't won there since the 90s or something too. I think it could be a draw, which would still be enough to give Leicester the title...but we'll see.

Personally I hope Spurs win that game as I want to see how we do against Leicester needing a win.

I'm happy for Leicester. There used to be a time in football long before Sky took over where any team with the help of very good management, discipline and desire could realistically challenge for the title.

Them winning the title actually gives us hope that with better management next season - why couldn't we aim for the title?

For Leicester, it's unlikely they'll ever get to win the title again, (although, who knows), it would be great for them to win it on their last home game. Would feel flat winning it tomorrow night. I know as a fan, I'd prefer winning it by winning the game.

Not if they need to win.

I'm usually wrong on predictions so this will likely be no exception but if they needed to win (they wouldn't want to leave it to the Chelsea away game) they'll have to come forward and we could theoretically play them at their own game and aim to hit them on the break.

I cannot see how we will get anything out of this. If they take the lead then we will definitely lose. If we take an early lead then it'll last for maximum of ten minutes and they'll trounce us. If we somehow get a lead in the last ten minutes, whether it be 1-0 or 2-0 then they'll throw everything at us and we will succumb under the pressure as always and go on to lose.

Possibly, we can bore them into a 0-0 draw.

The Spurs result on Monday will make for very, very different games IMO. If Spurs lose or draw, then it's done and the pressure is off...in that scenario I'd actually think we'd be less likely to get a result. However, if Spurs win you cannot tell me they'll not be nervous as hell AND they will be under pressure to get the win. A draw would be too risky. They were nervous at the start of the game at Old Trafford and really the pressure will be x10 more as it's all on them at that point. That scenario gives us an opportunity at least to play them a little at their own game and try and hit them on the break.

Clearly we're an erratic side, we can be horrendously bad to dominant inside of one of half of football let alone two. Maybe it's naive given our season but I still think we can beat anyone in the PL if we're set up the right way and the players are motivated. Like I say though, I'm terrible at predictions and even with the scenario above I'd not say the outcome I'm suggesting is likely...just possible.

I'd like their to be something on the line though, and I'd like us as a side to give our fans some teeny tiny semblance of positivity going into the summer. That this set of players can beat the side sitting top of the league this year.

We're the easiest team in the league to play against this year and they're going to be flying regardless of tonight's Spurs result, can't see anything other than a comfortable home win.

My big concern is they make a mockery of us. Who can forget going to Arsenal and allowing Tony fucking Adams to stroll through the midfield and score, thumping us on the way to securing the title...

We'll cave like a house of cards, Robert Huth to score goal of season contender, everyone will wax lyrical the full 90min about how unbelievable Leicester are, and we'll be completely irrelevant, as we have been all season.

In all honesty, hope Spurs lose tonight and Leicester win the league. I hope we give them a fucking good reception because they deserve it.

That said, I think Jamie vardy is a little rat, I think Huth and Morgan are meat heads, I think Danny Longballer is this season's Scotty Parker and is a poor man's Gareth Barry, and finally I have my own suspicions that the lot of them are drug cheats.

I hope we give them the game of their lives and they leave the field shaken, having barely seen the ball.

Congratulations for winning the league title, but don't get attached.

Not really arsed if Leicester beat us and we have to give a guard of honour and all that. They deserve it.

Also, I don't think it matters if Leicester's players are likeable or not. I've not liked a lot of Utd/Chelsea/City players over the years who've won titles, but you can still respect what they've achieved as players. I think likeability is largely unimportant and is only really a factor because it's Leicester and not one of the usual bigger clubs winning it.

Maybe, just maybe, a few of our players and our manager might realise in giving the guard of honour quite how awful we've been this year. Rather than say, describing it as 'parasite football'.

Some interesting graphics on the BBC about where Leicester stand against the other teams when it comes to wages, cost of team etc. Quite interesting from our perspective - our wage bill is about mid table (less than the likes of Newcastle). And our team cost about the same as Sunderland and Villa's.
As with everything, Leicester ruin the argument but maybe 11th is where we should be?

Wonder if Martinez will be telling Ranieri that they may have won the league but they don't play football in the right way.

And maybe Ranieri will respond by dubbing Martinez "Voyeur Jr."

A nice counter attacking 4-3-3 please, against the hungover Foxes and a 0-4 victory please.  Martinez finds the post match interview a fitting time to congratulate the champions and announce his departure.

Interesting look at Leicesters use of technology, showing how they use fitness and conditioning experts

Do we have anything like this on the go?

I remember in that Tim Cahill documentary seeing that we used to analyse loads of stuff at Finch Farm, I wonder if we still do

We are blessed with a manager who knows all about this type of stuff so maybe we don't need to bother with experts in that field anymore

I do wonder whether RM having a degree in physiotherapy actually hinders us.

I thought at first it would surely be good as he's got a much better knowledge than your average manager.

But maybe this clashes with the actual fitness coaches, like he might stick his nose in but obviously can't spend too much time on this as he's got all the other stuff to do and this muddies the water a bit?

Whereas if he didn't have this qualification he'd leave well alone and let the specialists get on with it.

Roberto Martinez on Leicester title win:

“I don’t think they've shown the rest up, not really, no."

"How many cases have there been like it in the 24 years of the Premier League’s history?"

“Every project you put together to try to win the league. But 24 years of 20 teams? You do the maths."

"That is 480 projects and only one is a fairytale. Of course they have shown it is possible."

“It also shows you that in any team sport, that group dynamic, that intensity and determination to chase a dream can beat any individual talent.”

That's that then. The Leicester title win explained clearly in a nutshell.

I feel he misses the point or is, understandably, deflecting it.

It's not whether they have won the league or not, as finishing 6th would have been a great season for them.

It's how they overachieved and whether those basics are missing from us.

Also there are a lot more teams that have overachieved over the years than 1 in 480.

Focussing on them winning the league is a distraction as it can be written off as a freak result rather than promoting an examination into the underlying basis of their performance.

I think he understands the situation perfectly and he is doing like he always does which is spinning it in such a way that it doesn't draw attention to himself and his failings. He's conveniently overlooking Tottenham's 'fairytale project 'too, which was based on very similar fundamentals as the Leicester one. Some might say West Ham have had a fairytale project this season too, bearing in mind their modest squad and to still to be in with a shout of top 4 until the final weeks of the season.

Mourinho said before first game of the season, that the league would be a lot more competitive, lower points total for title, smaller teams upsetting big clubs, the standard across the board has improved.

I think it's played out more than he ever expected, but most the traditional top 8 sides have struggled and are comparing themselves to Leicester or Spurs in anger. No one's comparing themselves to last years champions who fell on their sword with much the same squad and setup.

Everyone else has had injuries, had key players settling in or have just been inconsistent. Only a handful of settled sides or sides that started and finished season with same players.

Our league challenge derailed over the winter and never got back on track.

In fact why didn't arsenal, Liverpool, United...?

So who do you think will copy them . Are chelsea for instance going to look for a £5m midfielder or bid for KLante for £30m ? They aren't a blue print for anyone really . Made up they have won it as the table doesn't lie and they got the mix right from day 1 . They are not though the way forward and will do well to finish in the top 10 next season playing twice a week . After that it could be downhill rapidly but hey when they are back in the Championship they will have had a season to remember . Comparing a club that thinks it deserves something purely based on its motto , history and antiquated old lady of a stadium to Leicester is a bit pointless . They got on and did what our board just talked about .

YOU DON'T PUT ARBITRARY LIMITS ON WHAT YOU CAN ACHIEVE AS A CLUB.  Assemble a good squad, a good manager, expect everyone to work hard and pull together.  If the stars align...ANYTHING can happen.

Honestly I dont give a single fuck if any of them leaves. Theres not a single 1 of them who can say theyve put in the required effort and played reasonably well all season. Lukaku barely turns up half the time and hes the best 1. Fucking Barkley seems to get less and less fit and do less and less defensively. These 2 our best players and yet are much of our problem defensively. You start from the front and 35 games into the season and we are still waiting for these 2 to start defensively. These are our best players?? Theres absolutely no one we desperately need to keep hold of

It is like hes a toddler (Martinez) hes seen Barca win everything with 65% possession and not looked beyond that. Weve no movement with the ball. Weve no closing down without it. Carm down, Carm down ! He's gone already but what's the point in doing it today  just to be vindictive, two games to go then he just disappears, we show more class in doing so than just sacking after a derby loss/ cup exit, nothing would have changed if we had fired him after the semi.

We need a pikey nasty bastard who will be a winner.

The team are playing like they did in the derby. Like they don't give a single fuck. I can't believe that Martinez stayed in his job after that performance. He definitely needs to go now. He's lost the dressing room completely.

I don't think there's any class in putting supporters through this. People dragging themselves all over the country and spending their money, while Roberto's £3m a year continues to go into his account.

When did it become classy to accept rubbish. Surely class is about getting the best and being the best.

People moan about the board or the manager or the players...... The problem is the fans cos they wouldnt get away with it at a club with less class. How are we tolerating this abject shite? Where's the class in giving a manager til the end of the season while we get routinely bummed on worldwide TV, and get laughed at by our opponents?

BUT he just looks completely removed from the game so often. I think hes a lazy cunt. I think hes easily frustrated and a quitter when that happens. Man isnt a winner. You know, I'm kinda glad that we're at the King Power when they lift the trophy.

The players, as well as our fearless leader, need to see, with a ringside seat, exactly what a team of winners looks like. And what happens when a fit and organised team of winners plays as a team.

I hope they're embarrassed and ashamed of themselves for the way this season has turned out.

I didn't think I could reach a lower level with Everton this year, but I hadn't anticipated becoming embarrassed by us. And that comes straight from the top of the club.

Class? Dignity? Fuck off. Show some self respect, and show the fans, the people that ARE the club, and will be with the club for life, that this absolute garbage will not be tolerated for a moment longer.

There are absolutely no positives to cling on to. None.

Oh come on, playing like them would be SO easy. Everyone can do it. Whereas few teams can claim they can play like us.

I mean the fans need to show their frustration with their feet and not around a hundred fans.
We need to organise some kind of protest that will get the press and journos talking. Fuck being seen as a "Kopite" unfortunately they do these things and look what happens! It's not being a Kopite, it's standing for your football club and wanting the best. Look at our motto ffs. We should be demanding that Roberto should be gone asap.
We need to show a demonstration or walk out of thousands not a hundred. It's not going to work and we'll just look like "plucky little Everton".
This mantle has to stop and we should be showing that. If the board aren't going to make the decision we need to make it for them. I agree that there's definitely some players with their flip flops already, waiting for their jollies/the Euros to begin.

But let's be honest, if we had something to play for then that wouldn't be the case. And the primary reason we don't have something to play for is down to Martinez.

Yes, the players are culpable too, but the buck always stops with the manager and, frankly, they don't look like they're playing for him.

Phil McNulty summed it up on twitter by saying today's performance was the players' way of 'saying' they want Martinez gone, and I couldn't agree more.

He's blaming the players now:

It's very hard to stomach. We all knew that it was going to be a big footballing celebration and rightly so for Leicester but we came here to win a football game and we never had any intensity.

“I thought our concentration in defence was awful. It's a performance that you don't expect to win a football game. Of course you're playing against the champions, and the reason that they're the champions is because they have got that intensity in their play and their intent in their attacking play.

“To concede the goal that we conceded after five minutes probably that shows that we never, ever replicated what we did last weekend and that's a disappointment.

“If you come to any ground in the Premier League, especially the champions, you have to do the basics rights and you have to start performances with a real concentration, a real focus, a real intensity and a real defensive awareness and clearly, none of those aspects were there in our performance. It was really, really hard to take in that respect. It was very much not the level that we expect.

“Of course, it is a distraction that you have to cope with [the atmosphere] but in the same manner we have our own agenda. Our agenda was we won against Bournemouth, we showed a lot of character and a lot of good things and today clearly we didn't replicate that. It's not an excuse; we should have enough experience.

“If anything it would be a young player that couldn't cope with the occasion but I thought the only player that can hold his head high today is Matthew Pennington. He put in a performance full of meaning and of desire.”

“All credit to Leicester City...fight, belief, spirit, desire, energy... Everton..weak, no belief, shape, leaders, or direction,” he wrote.

Who's arguing?

And what's pathetic pointing out we've seen this sort of thing before?

We've seen it now and again in isolation under Moyes.

We see it nearly every week under Martinez.

Remember when Spurs beat his Wigan side 9-1? That's about as relevant as the Arsenal game under Moyes is, probably more so

Except that time it was who'd been on a 48 hour bender before the game which is why we got mullered. This time it was Leicester having a boozey week and came out and could have beat us 8-0 so not sure the comparisons are relevant in the slightest!

Was half expecting a positive result today , with Leicester all ready confirmed champions , possibly a few hangovers , maybe not quite as hungry to play the high intensity game as normal ,  wouldn't be the first time it's happened to newly crowned champions , if I remember rightly we got spanked by Coventry at highfield road 4-0 or 4-1 etc after clinching the title . How wrong was I today, RM has got to take a huge slice
Of the blame , but the players today where shocking with the whole world watching us play the newly crowned champions , you would think they would have some self pride in showing there talent, I would exclude Pennington , Robles and Suprisingly for
Him Kev when he came on at least they showed some pride and passion . Another sad day to be a Evertonian .

Slight correction, this is a forum not a text message lol

But yeah it's widely known on forums that he's on his way out. There is a guy on Grand Old Team called The Esk who has had the inside info about it for several weeks

Tbh Barkley and Lukaku stopped playing for Everton and Martinez after the Chelsea quarter final, Stones hasn't played  for Martinez or Everton Since his transfer request to Chelsea. And the way I feel now admittedly a bit pissed, the three of them can just fuck off as long as we get the right fee's. Had enough we don't need passengers. As for Martinez, he can take his false hope and his endless optimism and shove it where the sun don't shine, I'm done.
