Title: One player or one manager
Post by: Ramjam on October 04, 2017, 07:03:50 PM
If you had the chance to spend an hour with any player or manager past or present who would it be and why?

For me it would be Peter Reid because he was a red who turned blue and is a club legend who apparently is arrogant extremely opinionated, I would like to know what made Reidy tick back in the glory days.

Why?

Ask him why he elbowed that dude in Scotland, ask him what prison life was like.  How he felt about serving the 12 match ban after he came out of prison. best players he's played with.. what he thought of Amokachis dress sense, best players he played against.. best players he has seen in the youth teams,, how he rates Unsworth as a manager..

just for starters..

Baines. He's the only one well-rounded enough where I feel it wouldn't be dull and/or a real disappointment.

Think he would be able to dish some real shit about what went down at the end with Moyes, Martinez, and now Koeman. Maybe how the dressing room really viewed the Romelu and Ross situations. He seems fair and objective.

Maybe he would also be more willing to open up to an American, who could I gossip to, really?

1) Harry Catterick (What an era of managers, what a record he had)

2) Colin Harvey (Mr Everton in my eyes)

3) Andy Gray (I have never idolised any other player as much as I did AG for that 18 month period he was with Everton)

4) Peter Reid (One question: How hard/tough was Graeme Souness?!)

Big Dunc - Hero growing up, but would like to hear his thoughts on the Newcastle move, playing alongside shearer and what it means to him to score in the red shite's net.

Ask him about when Huyton Boys won the cup. Ace times. His brother Gary was a red (and probably still is) but are you sure about Peter?

Kanchelskis. Reckon he'd have some belter stories about the Russian mafia, life at Everton, playing under Fergie, life in Italy etc.

Of the current crop, Bainesy, because he clearly has a brain.

Gary Speed. I would have loved to have known the real story behind such a massive blue suddenly wanting to leave so badly. There were so many rumours floating around that it would have been nice to know the real story. It would have also been interesting to possibly understand some of the demons that drove him to suicide.
