Are Everton set to bounce back against Brighton?

There's no denying that it has been a very disappointing start to the Premier League campaign for Ronald Koeman and Everton.

Include some fucking actual wingers (not square peggers)in the game and drop a few of RK's purchases then we have a chance but I'm not holding my breath ... although I've gone for a one nil Sandro win.

The second half is a valid comment, the first half is disgraceful. Fortunately 99.9% of Evertonians I am sure always want us to win every game we play and "bounce back" as the thread suggests.

I get what your saying. but im thinking long and short term, Koeman is going to be gone soon enough, I dont enjoy watching our team play like players who are bereft of passion/ideas/game plan. why prolong the pain?

For me i wanted us to bounce back 5 games ago, now it is way way too late. Koemans had chances to switch things up. but he has decided to persevere with the tactics and players who have gotten us into this horrible mess.

If we don't bounce in this one then he should be bounced out the door immediately.

Who knows at the moment, we are all over the show. We need to go back to basics, stop the errors and be hard to beat. That coupled with consistent team selection of players playing in their correct position may turn this complete mess of a season around. There's a lot of if's there

The first thing Daley Blind said when he signed for United was, 'I only came to England so I could witness Brighton Everton games at close quarters.'

Someone should warn the 3000 fans going to Brighton that we cannot win there. There are too many malign spirits wishing we will lose. That must be why my crystal ball won't function properly. It can't cope with all the malign spirits transmitting their pessimism on the airwaves.

there thinking long range. not just wanting us to win and then Koeman staying in. and knocking us out of everything else we are in,.

Time to accept Koeman was a failure for us. sooner he is gone. that is when we will start to improve and get all the fans back.

When did you lats hear Koeman say we or us? He refers to Everton as if he isnt part of the team/squad.
does your crystal ball want that to continue?

Yes I know what you are really driving at. I just can't bring myself to wish for any defeat. Anyway, winning at Brighton won't save him his job unless a recovery follows fairly soon. I am hoping we all wish for a recovery whoever the manager might be. Nearly all managers are here today and gone tomorrow. I hold no special liking for Ronald and definitely not his style of football. I am sure he knows he has to change. Whether he is capable of change we will see.

Nah, we need something good to happen.  Any win will do at present.  The Koeman stuff is out of our hands, we have to trust Moshiri to strike when the time is right.

I don't want to end up in a relegation scrap and then hire an anti-football manager to keep us safe, either.

I fear this will happen the longer we keep Koeman; rather get  a decent manager in who can play football before we are forced into an anti football manager as you stated,

We got to want a win love or hate him, i don't like him but the only time i'd want a loss is if we'd already won the league and it meant the shite going down or somert similar.

Last season was a success by any measure. Perhaps you've forgotten what a state we were in before he came?

For that reason and our very tough start, I'm prepared to give him more than 8 league games but that's just me.

To complain about the style and put attacking play, I don't deny that. But we have a lot of new players and I agree with Koeman that the squad hasn't had enough time to gel together.

This '3 tens' stuff is also rubbish. Klaasen hasn't played that much, and most people don't consider him a 10 anyway. There's a better argument to say we are trying to shoe horn '2 tens', but actually Sigurdsson has played more often on the left but don't let that spoil a myth.

Then there's the 'pace and width' argument. I generally agree with that but if you read most of this forum, people post ideal formations like it's a game show. How many people on here actually consider the opposition's strengths and weaknesses?  For example, many people wanted to see flying pacy wingers when we were playing Burnley at home when we knew they were going to sit back and defend.

All opinions though as you rightly say.

Starting with two defensive midfielders at home is a travesty when we're playing teams like Burnley, Apollon and Bournemouth. It's completely negative and promotes zero attacking threat.

I believe Martinez was the exact same and all's it did was stagnate our play because any tempo is lost when they receive the ball, it didn't work then and it's not working now.

But even against the weaker sides has starting with what most would class as a negative defensive team despite having options forward of the halfwsy line ...notice you never touched on his ego being a problem ...only using players he's bought who havnt annoyed him ..and again today two DM's against a weaker side ...makes fuck all sense to most .
I would measure last season with a lot more success but our only tactic was aforementioned and zero plan b ...but also playing Davies and Sig near wings is useless for the players and the team .

COYB all the same .
