He was a great manager for us. It's a shame the way it ended the way it did.

Thanks for that... but where did it all go wrong. Some incredible goals and skills in that lot. Puzzling
-
Would love a couple of those players in the team now. As they were then of course.
Pienaar, Arteta, Yak & Cahill to name a few.
-
Radzinski's goal against Southampton. What a game.
-
We're dangerously close to texting "still thinkin bout u babe" to Moyes and wake up tomorrow with a massive headache and even bigger regrets. :)
-
some memories of Koemans first season.
dat Barkley goal.
cant wait till he's back, new contract and all.
-
David Moyes likes this.
I reckon he's watching this right now, just sat there in his cardigan and a pair of old Everton slippers, guzzling a chang, smoking a lambert & butler blue, muttering under his breath "...fucking Moshiri, fucker, I''l show ya, ya wee shite..."
Odds on he'll go after Baxter, Mirallas, Jagielka, and Baines, come January?
Nah, some great days and nights there, some quality moments. Not going to start on him, could have been anybody, could have been better, could have been worse. Funny old game indeed.
-
Love that Cahill goal against Newcastle, what a moment that was.

think my favourite Cahill goal was the other head kick against Chelsea, (if i recall correctly) ball was blasted across and he some how managed to over head kick it in..was in the last few minutes..

And dreamed Hungary won a speed skating gold and the winners shacked up with her that keeps falling down!!
-
Osman's header against City several years ago, absolute peach!
-
Really nice video. Brought a few tears watching it - in a good way.
We have had some really nice and good characters over the years - some that the new nowadays is really missing.
Holy crap im missing Gravesen!
-
Still to this day can't believe we didn't win the Europa League the season we went out to Fiorentina, talk about name on the trophy.

That dour Coldplay song captivates exactly how the Koeman era felt in the end. Yuk!
Great moments in the Moyes vid prior though, brought back some great memories. Nice one

Sorry wrongly quoted above, my computer is having a melt

Especially given we'd already beaten eventual winners Zenit in the group stage and would have fancied us to beat PSV in the next round and put Rangers away without a second leg needed
-
Been watching some old games including when we beat Watford 5-4 at Vicarage Road.
-
Cahill's goal against Newcastle to clinch 4th was great.

The famous Watson wave

Watching that makes me wish we had got to see the great wayne Rooney years here at Everton.
Also as I mentioned before, there are only a couple of our current crop that would get into those sides.
-
If Messi or Ronaldo had scored that Cahill goal it would have been up for one of the best goals ever... what a finish!!!

Giggs’ debut.
Also my first trip to old Trafford. Missed the 0-3 win a year later so wasn’t expecting just one win in the next 27 years :(
-
I remember Moyes first game like it was yesterday. Worrying how old some of those clips look. Also worrying that it must mean I'm getting old. And doubly worrying that I still havent seen us win anything!

What a left peg hinchcliffe had

Remember when the most embarrassing thing about our club was this?

Say hello to Mr. Testicles. :)
It was a testicular cancer awareness campaign, so it's all good, but the mascot was hideous.

Ah Wayne Clarke. Remember his goal at Highbury, nice little chip from 30+ yards

Nice memories of the Moyes era and some great wins, but no trophies in more than a decade in the job and the 'knife to a gunfight' mentality tarnish it for me. Nice memories is all it is. We need a winner.

So much of our success in the 80's was due to Big Nev....cat like reflexes and an incredibly brave goal keeper. What a privilege it was to have seen him play for our club. Great video by the way.

Yes, love Tricky's goal. What a luxury it was to have a speedy winger who could shoot with both feet. Two of the best headed goals I ever saw scored by Gray, although strangely I have no recollection of either of their disallowed goals. I think 4 - 3 would have been a fairer score having seen them again.

Went to my first Everton game in 1991. I think this is right up there as one of, if not the best team performance of that era. Beat Newcastle at home a few days later too and Amokachi scored another two, a great week to be a Blue.
Also the inspiration behind the t-shirts the fanzine has had done. ;)

I agree. We were so dominant that day.

Was great from start to finish, we took over Elland Road that day, outnumbered the Spurs fans

I was at Elland road that day, what a big performance that was especially after Teddy went down for a cheap pen and they pulled it back to 2-1. Then we loaded the Amo, game changer. Drunk as a skunk that night

-
Not that long ago but still a lovely goal from Seamus and hopefully, we will see something similar on Saturday.

That video of Moyes area man. Reminded me of how many last minute winners we used to get under him. Say what you want about him, his teams played for him and they played for the shirt.

More than anything, they played for each other, which at the time we just took for granted, only to realise later that it's anything but.

I was refused entry to this game cos i was bladdered

My favorite might have been the 2-1 win over spurs. Down a goal going into stoppage time, then Pienaar scores followed by Jelavic a minute later. What a feeling that was!

I was watching that game with a Tottenham fan and said to him well played just before Pienaar scored and then said fair result a draw and then had to say unlucky when Jelavic scored. He was not happy and to be honest, even though he is a mate, I could not help but laugh at him when the final whistle went.

I don't like this thread. . It's like looking through an old photo album at all the hot birds you you were once shagging, knowing that soon you gotta close it, go downstairs and see the dog ugly thing you ended up marrying.
