I'd keep lookman and Lennon and even dcl on the bench as they can change a game if needed whereas others can't really
Id go
Pickford
Kenny Jagielka Keane Baines
Baningime
Davies Sigurdsson Gueye*
Rooney
Niasse
*Gueye is in by skin of teeth tbh. I couldn't think of anyone else
I think both Gueye and Davies are in by the skin of their teeth, Davies was absolute shite against Watford
we better have Vlassic and Lennon on the bench, in fact I would start Vlassic instead of Davies.

Listen we all want width in the side mate butI wish we would go 4-4-2, I think it would suit our squad too. Tried and trusted for years and everyone should know their job.
I don't think this is a game for Kenny. Palace will get the ball out wide to Zaha get him one on one with him. For this reason, we need to play it very tight in the game, otherwise we will lose, which is why i think Holgate has a better chance. With Palace, if you stop the wingers, you stop the goals, as they won't score from any other way. From what i have seen of Vlasic, he just isn't great at tracking back and doing his defensive work, which won't do in this game. This is probably the best 11 we can put out...and it’s FUCKING GRIM!
I would go with this:
Pickford
Holgate Keane Jags Baines
Gana Bani Davies
Lennon Sigurdsson
DCL
A workaholic team with bags of energy to scrap a win.
Need to build on last week here, draw would be decent. Worried about set pieces against us though, we're shit in the air at the moment.

Kenny had the best defensive stats in the league last weekend.
Genuinely interested - by what measures?
Tackles and clearences

Good to see. I really like Kenny, but I still think this is a game to take him out of the line of fire. Zaha is the most fouled player in the league for a reason, and we need a player with a little more experience in there.Holgates been fucking dogshite all season
Kenny in the home games is a great option, but away from home he needs to be protected.

Sort of don’t know what I’m doing here. Want one sitting and two energetic fellas, and I want I guess Niasse on the pitch cause man scores goals so that’s like a fluid top 3 that presses and ya rooney false 9 looking for Niasse and sig to get beyond him or Lennon on the break.
I think that team gets beat and hopefully unsie has more of an idea than me!
Can't wait for these to go down. They’ll beat us
Horrible place to go.
1-3Now that would be worth a bet ,good odds for sure.
Benteke followed by a Niasse perfect hat-trick - arse, face, balls
Do we all really think Rooney deserves to start ?No not at all personally he's awful .. .despite loads thinking he's the second coming ...but hey Rhino is his buddy so...

Do we all really think Rooney deserves to start ?For me, yes
Yeah Holgate gets done on the regular himself. Did well against Sane though if I remember correctly?
I think stick with Kenny while he’s hit form, and put Lennon on that side as well to double up.
Baines and Vlasic or Lookman on the other.
These are dogshite but have turned it around a bit and will fancy themselves at home against us. If they beat us they drag us right into it.
To be honest, I dunno, don’t really fancy us here with our current away record. Draw wouldn’t be terrible but every win is gold dust atm in my opinion.
If these are "dogshite" with Zaha, Loftus Cheek and Benteke then I don't know what we are ? Hodgson is slowly getting them organised and a point would be a decent result, we were lucky to get three last week against Watford, if Cleveley hadn't missed we would still be in the drop zone.
We should be aiming for all 3 points against the bottom team. One point will just confirm that we are at their level and the reality is although we are playing poorly atm we are able to do much more with the squad we have. Must go for the win and I think we will win it.
Of course we should be aiming for three points, nobody would dispute that and we must go for the win but still maintain that a point is a realistic outcome given that we are no better than them on current formSad state of affairs ain't it that we we are considering whether home advantage will come into play against the bottom team in the league.
and they have hone advantage.

These have been a bit of a bogey team for us the last few seasons, Dann always has a blinder against us too

We need a point. And we need to set up to get that point.Palace outplayed Spurs and West Ham in their last 2 games, although the results didn’t reflect that.
It blows to say this but we need to just get any result on the road no matter who we're playing, and then take our chances at home to get 3 points. It's just where we are right now. If we do this we'll slowly work our way up the table and be fine.
This game scares me though. Palace play a way that can rip our back end apart and only have 30% possession.

Loftus Cheek has gone off injured tonight, good player him and a big loss for Who at the weekendOooh ooh I think i know this one
First priority in this (and the upcoming league games) should be clean sheets.
It’s impossible to go from not playing well at all, to suddenly start thinking of dominating matches etc.
We’ve gone 0-2 down in all four of Unsy’s matches so far; this can’t continue.
Be solid and give ourselves a more than good chance of getting something out of all of these games.
Anyone heard anything regarding Bolasie, Coleman or Barkley injuries?
Heard bolasie was back in full training this week with the rest of the squad?
Probably just before Christmas before Bolasie, Coleman and Barkley return.
Also I know he's not as highly rated but considering lack of options in defence, there seems to have been no update with regards to Funes Mori's progress.
Probably just before Christmas before Bolasie, Coleman and Barkley return.Think mori might be out the season, you know it's bad when he would likely walk straight in to the side

Its a shame for the lads who have long term injuries I get the feeling they loose a bit of something. Very rare come back as wasI expect coleman to be fine, he's a fighter and wont shirk any challenge or anything like that, Bolasies probably more of a worry as he's a sprinter and could easily pull up again
Doesn't it take 2 years to get back to "full health' if you get Bolassie's injury? I think Falcao is only just back this year after 2 years in England totally goosed.Yes I understand the timescale but I just think they get a bit of glass back syndrome
Would be interested in seeing other players with similar injuries and their career trajectories but I imagine it wouldn't make very pleasant viewing.
I think Ross isn't even injured personally. Back just in time for Jan yeah
No idea when Coleman or FM are back. Coleman back kicking a ball though.

Vlasic in the U-23s for the weekendIt's all a bit bizarre with him isnt it
It's all a bit bizarre with him isnt itThink it could well be the case that he looked good when we were in Koeman’s darkest hour but he’s probably not that good. Was surprised to see him in the team so soon tbh

Maybe, thought he had a bit about him tho myself. Not just cos we were awful
Id rather him than mirallas for certain
Mirallas another glaring example of our inability to build on a squad and replace when necessary since Moyes left.
Vlasic should be on the bench minimum. Very highly rated player, give him game time. He looked like a solid hard worker which is what Unsy was afterkeeps hold of the ball better than most aswell

It's only a temporary thing. I doubt he'll get the job permanently. Then all the players should be given a clean slate and prove themselves worthy again. Just like the new manager.Shame they never got one under Rhino though ,I expected a bit more from him tbh.

My preferred 11 from the players available (given that kev and morgan have sorted their heads out and got on board) would be:We need eleven players pal
Pickford
Kenny Keane Jags Baines
Lennon Schneiderlin Gana Mirallas
Niasse
I reckon we could nick it if we just keep it tight, get into them and be patient. It's really hard to call though and any result wouldn't surprise me so i'm ok with a draw, quality of the opposition aside we need stability atm

:bonk: It's been a long day hahaAgree with most of your side but I'm so fed up with mirallas being a twat I'd fuck him off totally

Lennon Niasse Lookman tomorrow.
Benni and Besic joining Vlasic in the u-23s
Interesting. Beni is our best pure DM on current form.Must mean Snides is back in the mix? And his post on twitter sort of said it today?
Any idea what’s behind them?
I hope you worked out the message in my pictures. Have a great day.
Pickford Kenny Baines Keane Jags Schniderlin Gueye Lennon Davies Lookman Niasse4-1-4-1? Anyway wait and see....
Agree with most of your side but I'm so fed up with mirallas being a twat I'd fuck him off totallyThat's fair tbh, I've never really understood how some fans can't see that he's essentially an empty head footballer. He's only in for his experience but I would plan to replace him first after 60 mins, probs with Calvert-lewin.
Looks like we're not on TV tomorrow @Evertonian in NC (https://www.nsno.co.uk/forums/index.php?action=profile;u=3784) Only on Gold. And they're only showing one live game now at a time I see to force people to pay the extra $50. Bastards.

Y, for us in the States, we shouldn't be surprised. We pay these huge cable companies $150 a month... NBC gives us a taste of every Everton match every week, just to pull it away and ask for MOAR $$.
F**k off. Is there such a thing as "cord cutting" back in Blighty for our local Blues? I'm ready to make the move on that... the only reason I pay these bastards was for Everton. I don't really need HBO - HBO can eat a ****.
I'm happy to listen to the official site audio from now on, COYB, rant over.

I think the Silva thing is happening regardless, and I think there is no plan B beyond Unsy regardless (unless we plummet and we are forced to move around Christmas).
Win 2-1 benteke
I wonder if that's Mirallas binned off for good?
I think the Silva thing is happening regardless, ...
Where was Sandro when they found him? And who is the culprit who tried to find him?
Hoping for a Sandro cameo. I still think he could have something to offer (I realize Im in the minority though).
I hope you're wrong. Watford could quite easily lose their next four games. Then the Blues could be heaving a sigh of relief. I really can't see that he is the answer for Everton right now.
Really hope the lads can get a win for Unsworth today - ultimately the job might be too much for him but cant help but like him
Rooney ought to be in place of Schneiderlin, who has shown us next to nothing this season. Is that you Ronald ?.
COYB, how about a first half goal?
I think you're looking for this thread. ;)Not a great start to the afternoon.... Can't even post in the right thread!

I hope I'm wrong, but who is going to provide the forward passing without Rooney?Gylfi without Rooney is a different player ....Lennon and Lookman are there to stifle their wingers trying to go the other way ...but Lennon gets forward plenty and opens space in the middle ....rekon we will thrive without Rooney in the way .
Balance is great and all, but I fear we're getting to the end of the 1st half with 0-1 shots on target.
*EDIT*
Streams, anyone, as soon as you find a good one?
Totally agree.
Take Rooney out of the team, and you get a better balance. Hopefully this will prove to be on kick off.
Sigurdsson playing deeper than Gana. For some reason.
Working stream pls ??http://nowwatchtvlive.net/stream-10-hd-soccer-football-nba-nhl-ufc-links/
Imagine having a player that picks up the ball and runs at the centre halves in the box. I forgot they existed. You don't try you don't get.
I miss Gareth Barry
Was it a dive?
Suspended for the next game if so.
What Niasse does with what skill level he has to work with should put Kevin Mirallas especially to shame.
Well played by Lennon there covering. But who gave away the easy ball in the first place?
Painful trying to find a decent stream these days, even the 1s you guys say are working dont for me
Is Vlasic injured? He'd do well against these.

Unsworth can't have another game.
Everyone wants to be a bit snobby but at some stage people might need to be realistic about where we are and accept Allardyce. We are currently terrible. Weve been 2nd best in every league game this season. Thats not just relegation form its almost unheard of its so bad
We all just assume we "cant" go down
we fookin well can, and if we do, we could as easily do a Leeds as anything else
Fact is, right now, Everton are probably the worst team in the league
Baines can’t cope with Loftus Cheek at all
Just. No. Fucking. Way.
- American Snob
Unsworth can't have another game.Agreed. Would also agree when people say he needs more time, however, we can’t be conceding 2 goals every game.
You know what would have been good? That would have been the sensible thing to do but we don't do sensible do we? and by the way Unsworth is a joke.
Appointing a new manager in the international break to give him ample time with the players.
It would have been good I reckon, dunno what everyone else thinks.
Sadly, my $50 NBC Gold stream has held up great this week.
What a fucking game... we're shit and losing, the streams are crap and when the do work have to listen to those Palace pricks chant non-stop.
We could easily go down. We are in desperate trouble in terms of what weve seen. The only arguement against it is we are everton we'll be alright
Ya put it up on your TV or just watch on a phone/tablet?
Sigurdsson is shite. Are we all on the same page on him now? Does absolutely nothing. Perhaps 1 of the worst signings ever
Ya put it up on your TV or just watch on a phone/tablet?
Out of all the players we've bought Sigurdsson has been the worst.
He's only in there because he's our record signing and we're hoping it will work.
Not good enough for Everton him lads.
I'll be honest I'm really not sure what we bought in Sigurdsson. He's been here a while now and I still haven't seen him have a good 20 minutes yet.
There are innumerable other professional managers who can keep us up comfortably without being corrupt anti-footballing self-promoting assholes who will set us back 3 years, minimum. And ruin our good name in the process.
Not saying we couldn't go down if things spiralled and we did nothing about it.
Schneiderlin says hi
Remember when people said he wasn't good enough to be part of our squad.
That's got to kill Palace at half time
Remember when people said he wasn't good enough to be part of our squad. He's now our best player!!
Thank you Niasse, thank you Speroni!
Imagine the irony if someone come in with a bid for Niasse in January.
He's now our best player!!
Hopefully that's our shit half
Niasse for player of the season?
All the instability and speculation this week won't have helped.
Niasse for player of the season?
Niasse for player of the season?
Just cant see us winning though.
Hugely confident after hearing the team but that evaporated after 1 minute.
Come on everton sort out my dour outlook.
As bad as we are at scoring goals, our bigger problems somehow seem to be at the back.
We just look levels below the teams we play week in and week out. Its frightening how bad weve been. Our points total is way in excess of what we deserve. We need massive changes. Its a complete mess at the moment
That's a lazy argument. Our points total is exactly what we deserve, it's why we have a league table. It's like the lazy argument that Niasse is shite, every week, after he scores or makes a goal, every week.
That's a lazy argument. Our points total is exactly what we deserve, it's why we have a league table. It's like the lazy argument that Niasse is shite, every week, after he scores or makes a goal, every week.
Weve been outplayed week in and week out. Is it a lazy arguement to suggest our average points per game probably wont continue at this "high" level if the level of performance doesnt pick up.
We are in a lot more trouble than our league position suggestsHave been for yonks, we just got to prey
That's a different argument. We are where we deserve to be because even though we're shite we do possess some decent players who can keep us in games.
I think that was my point really. That people talk about being in trouble if it gets worse while the reality of the performances is that we are already in desperate trouble.
I know its not popular but Allardyce has a great record in these situations and Dyches burnley are winning again. We maybe need to cut our cloth accordingly
DCL really has to do better. Its not an easy chance but he should strike it a lot cleaner
Hopefully Schneiderlin's carrying an injury as it's getting hard to defend these not arsed performances's puting in.
That's it, Schneiderlin's out of the clique.
Niasse for Sandro before he gets sent off. Ref has been great for us today
....and into the Klaasen, Sigurdson, Rooney gang.
The Guardian reckon he'll get three games for diving for the penalty. Fuckin highlight reel so he is. Love him.
They go down as soon as someone presses them.
They go down as soon as someone presses them.
They can all leave for me anyway. Most expensive waste of money as a group I've seen in my time as a fan.
That's the pass that destroys us every single match.
Unreal that we keep leaving that open space between the lines.
Safe to say we won't be winning the Fair Play league this season.
It's sad that I'm not sure whether it would be best to bring on Sandro or Rooney.
Davies not been great since came.on.
Lennon!!
Lennon has been excellent defensively. Saved us a few times.
The vermin will run up a cricket score against us.
Thats a gutsy substitution there
The vermin will run up a cricket score against us.
Sneak a goal here and we'll be the worst ever team to be in 12th place.
JJK is doing well, poor lads run ragged.
Pickford WTF, let us get up the pitch !
Pickford is really pissing me off.
Pickford is really pissing me off.
Great tracking back by DCL
Pickford knocking it back into the centre of the area again right at the death.
Needs sorting that.
Yes take that. 2-2.
We are very lucky Palace have a team of Stuart Barlows playing for them. Pretty piss poor that especially defensively.Don't get Lennon personally
Lennon, Niasse and Kenny the decent performances from the starters.
Don't get Lennon personally
He's a winger who offers little
His work rate and defensive play is sound.... He's an attacker tho
We'll concede 2 or more goals a game if we persist with Keane. And we’ll keep clean sheets if we bring in Williams, instead?
Isn't it the mark of a good team to play badly, but still scrape a result..?Yeah but good teams create and score goals from open play
Isn't it the mark of a good team to play badly, but still scrape a result..?
Yeah but good teams create and score goals from open play
but we're going in the right direction.
He just offers balance. In terms of playing the role of a right midfielder he's really good.I just think, for me, the only time I notice him is when he is defending
He's someone who likes to link up with players and as with everyone, he era the ball and there's no one writhin 30 yards of him.
Can't afford to be getting bossed around by a team like Crystal Palace.
Should be Unsworth's last match for us.
I still can't work out how we are the only team this season to stop City winning. And we nearly got all three points there as well. :)
Isn't it the mark of a good team to play badly, but still scrape a result..?
Not for me. 30% possession against the worst team in the league, conceding two goals every game and gone from 15th to 16th in the table today.
We were a little bit better back then. They did have a man sent off and then we defended deep with little ambition. They'd run up a cricket score if we played them now
Honestly can see us conceding 6 or 7 when we come up against a really good attacking side. The Derby is coming up isn't it
It's like no-one's ever seen a team suffering a crisis of confidence and badly organised before. Keane's not shit. He's just not playing well and is in a team that's a bit all over the place.
Sandro did well when he come on
What I mean about going in the right direction is, we're fighting for possession. Teams were walking it in, not so long ago. :)
I think the concern is that we're pushing on to almost halfway through the season and there are few signs of it improving.
I got it ;)
It won't improve properly til we get a manager in with specific ideas who can drill the players day after day.
Unsworth's just fire fighting in a very difficult situation, and somehow we've blagged 4 points from the last two games based on enthusiasm and not much else.
None of these players are going to look good until we get a shape and a way of playing that is robust and repeatable.
Oh I see. Maybe. The energy you see from Davies and Niasse (mainly) I think is misleading. It's pseudo-pressing which is not sustainable. Everyone has to do it and understand it. It's bloody difficult when
1. The team changes
2. The defence drops so deep
3. We can't keep possession when we do get the ball
A few seem to have an attitude problem which won't be helping dressing room morale either. Shipping the under-performers out the door in January to get fresh blood in might be a necessary way to move forwards.

Stevie G was his idol.
Stevie G never dived, he 'forced the foul'
Keane isn't the issue as such in defence. A total lack of pace in the centre is. Even are DM's aren't quick enough or powerful enough.
My comment was sarcasm :)kind of figured
1st goal he was the weak link. 2nd goal, he should be cutting out cross at front post.
Those were only the ones they scored from, he let Benteke in behind a couple of times, plus several others.
That sounds nice in theory but it's not that straightforward. It's not like Unsy, or Koeman before him, have no specific ideas that they are trying to implement, that they think will work to win football games, and that they are working on in training. Of course they are, that's why they get paid a shit load of money.Yep. The consensus has been that Koeman was a shit manager, so all we need to do is get a decent manager and we’ll be back in contention to finish 6th.
Our problems to me seem to run deeper than figuring out the right formation and game plan and I'm struggling to be honest to know exactly what it is that needs fixing.
I'm talking generally not about today as such. He's been poor to average but any defender would struggle to settle in this team right now. A quicker partner would benefit him greatly
Exhibit A. Loftus-Cheek given space and easily turned to get shot away.
Exhibit B. Should be cutting that out at front post.

the first was bad more because the team just didn't switch on as a whole
I feel like Pickford should have done more on the 2nd though, he has to be anticipating a cross into the 6yd box from where the player is
10 points off 7th now.
No way we are making that up.
What a job Dyche is doing.
According to merseyside baines and keane were still chatting to each other for their 1st goal and were not switche on at all
Well you can see from the replay we weren't set at the back. It's only the first minute but still unprofessional.Very, if thats the case, surely you should be ready to tear a new arsehole out the opposition just as you cross the white line
Jagielka and Pickford are trying to rescue a situation that shouldn't have got as far as them. You can't always cut out every cross and sometimes you'll get caught out, but this is simple ones on regular basis. It's not all his fault, he's just not quick enough.Pickford definitely had a play in getting a result though based on those saves he made down the stretch.
Back a couple of years and you'd be playing big lumps and he's in his element. But with quick players and movement, he's someone you have to carry or cover.
Behave, loads of games left, we'll be there or thereabouts, Burnley will end up in the bottom half
You think we'll be close to 7th. There's absolutely no evidence of that when we play football. I think most won't accept we are in trouble unless we go adrift
Keane can't be what he's not. He's not blessed with pace and alongside others without any pace either side he's going to be the one looked at to provide it due to his age but it's not him. Let's see what he's like next to a younger left back and centre half before writing him off. Although I do think he has been poor so far, like many others.honestly this is really on Koeman and Walsh. I don't know how you can think in the modern game you can get away with a lack of pace at the back. Unless Keane is being bought as a 3rd or 4th choice centre half, I can't see the sense of committing to a set up where our defence can't get forward.
We'll finish 7th or 8th from bottom

really think a main priority in the window has to be solving that problem, nearly as important as a goal scorer
we haven't been this bereft of pace at the back for ages. Coleman, Stones, Funes Mori etc. Funes is a crazy defender at times but credit where its due he had all the pace required to make up for errors. Right now we have none.
fixed
We'll finish 7th or 8th
Without a serious upturn in performances (which there's currently no sign of) I think there's a fair chance we could go down.
Obviously when the window opens we might buy our way out or hopefully Bolasie, Coleman and barkley can make contributions but this team under this management. We'd be lucky to survive from the evidence we see on maychdays
Nah, we'll be fine, don't think we can win the league now though which is annoying
I'd still take 4th from bottom
Are we doomed then? Unsie looked happy enough. Of course some people are never happy. Hodgson was very unhappy.
Got to be happy with a point today but still looked like U/12s team.
We'll finish 7th or 8thLiked simply for optimism although firmly disagree
Clearly a better option than Silva.

Keane is an average defender, why has no one else asked why no one else went in for him other than Everton?
Man Utd were after him.
I know for a fact they where not.
When Keane joined us he did an interview and stated Everton where the only club to make an offer to Burnley
He was asked why it took so long to get it over the like mad he said he wasn’t sure as Everton where the only team who came in for him and the only club he wanted to join
Palace scored 1/3 of all its goals this season... against us, today.
Man Utd were after him.
Taken me 9 hours to travel home 5 miles from Selhurst park. #shitfaced
Man Utd were after him.
One of the shitiest ground locations in the PL, to stand any chance of getting back to Victoria within 2 hours from Norwood Junction you have to leave the ground ten minutes before the end.
You don't even want to get a cheap hotel in that area either and go for a few bevvies and stay over. Horrible place.Went there years ago when charlton played there, terrible place to find. Turned up at the athletics stadium twice, went round buckingham palace dont know how many times. Fella shouts at the driver "eh cunthooks, your at the wrong fuckin palace"had to be on the coach i suppose. Manage to get there just as newall bagged the winner. Barnes travel, got to love em
We got outplayed by the bottom team, they carved us open time after time.Imho ...if we had two players in their pomp of form like Zaha and Loftus Cheek it would drag the rest of our shite up to scratch.
How did we not lose?
How did we score a goal let alone 2?
thankyou King Niasse!

You can normally get the train to/from Thornton Heath from Victoria. That line had engineering works yesterday which is why it was even more chaotic than usual at Norwood Junction.
They were running rail replacement buses from Thornton Heath but I imagine it would have been chaos there too. I just got on a local bus and went to Streatham, so it wasn't too bad.
