Jordan Pickford's Rise To England Number One

It was the save heard all over England when Jordan Pickford managed to get a hand to Carlos Bacca's penalty meaning Eric Dier had a chance to put the Three Lions into a World Cup quarter final for the first time in 12 years.

The paucity of any competition has helped more than his club form . Him and Pope are the best 2 in the league at the minute . Given clubs for some reason opt for poor quality foreign keepers ( De Gea and Lloris aside most are pants ) they should remain so for a while . He hasn't always convinced me but keepers can ' come of age ' in big tournaments .
