Confirmed that he's leaving this summer

Confirmed that he's leaving this summer
wish him all the best
-
Best of luck to him in what he does
-
Great player for us. Definitely for the best though. Rather he played 30 times for sheff Utd than 5 for us. Deserves to play
-
Top servant to the club. Good luck in whatever is next in store for him.
-
Fucking love Jags, one of the best defenders I've seen play for us.
-
Had some truly memorable moments in his time here. I doubted he'd recover from his last serious injury, but he proved me wrong. Top captain too.
-
One of the best defenders on his day...proper captain too .
Good luck Jags. .we will always have that screamer in the Darby to remember him by .
-
Good luck to him, served our club brilliantly.
Shame they couldn't confirm this before the end of the season and give him a proper send off from the fans. That sort of thing seems specially reserved for American goalkeepers or managers joining Man Utd.
-
Is it just me who sort of was hoping he'd be promoted to Silva's assistant?
-
Well all knew, but I'm still absolutely gutted. Easily my favourite Everton defender in my 25 years as a fan and probably in my top 5 favourite Everton players. Such a great player even at the age he is now as he showed towards the end of this season. I'd love it if he did a season at Sheffield United if he decides to carry on playing, it just seems fitting.
I guess I will have to change my avatar for the first time in many years once our new official club captain is announced (which I assume will be Seamus)
-
Been great jagielka, annoying when players with this type of ability leave without having won a trophy, that team from 2007-2009/2010 were good enough to win trophies
I'd have him & lescott as CBs in the best Everton team ive witnessed (aged 27)
-
Him and Lescott were an absolute fucking joke of a pairing. At one point it almost felt like we were cheating.
-
Gutted he never won a trophy here.
Easily the best centre half I’ve seen for us. Shame how the last couple of years went for him. Felt like he was holding that defence together on his own for a lot of the time.
-
Feels like somethings come to an end with him leaving (hopefully not retiring). Could see Wilder signing him for experience at Sheff Utd.
Probably one of the most underrated and ignored players in the premier league for me and it always annoyed me he was pigeonholed as a slow carthorse by most outside the club even though it’s been repeatedly proven he’s one of (or at least was) the quickest of anyone at Everton.
-
Another great player for us leaves without a trophy. Sad times. Loved Jagielka, great player.
Think he will play one more year and then could see him being a decent pundit.
-
Seems almost criminal that the likes of him, Pienaar, Arteta etc. never won anything here.
Also, Jags should've played a lot more than he did for England, FWIW... Then again, he'd have likely been tapped up and fucked off years ago if he'd had more call-ups!
Thanks Phil, and all the best for the future.
-
Great player for us and great professional.
I think he is one of those characters that will be very much missed in the changing room.
-
He’ll be sorely missed he’s been a great example to others and never failed to give his absolute best for the club.
-
One of our best ever value for money signings and for a period one of the best in the prem.
Absolute travesty he never got a trophy here, truly heart breaking.
-
A proper captain, on and off the pitch, genuinely gutted he's leaving
-
In all my time watching there has never been a more committed player ,love the bones of him .Thanks Phil and good luck to you and the family. As said totally underrated player at his peak and in over 60 years watching he is up there with the best .Club man through and through .
-
Love him and always will. Sounds like we dicked around making the decision (boo!) so hope there are no hard feelings and perhaps can be on the touchline one day.
That thunderbolt at Anfield alone would make him a legend.
-
Think the wording of his announcement was a bit of a dig at all?

It is criminal that the players of that era won nothing. The irony is the one final we got to in 2009 Jags Arteta and the yak,the spine of the team all had long term injuries and missed that game.Ten years on I still think what would have happened had all three been fit.
Good luck jags and thanks for the memories.
-
A top pro. Mr 100 percent.

Was more the Uefa cup run in 08 for me - had we managed another goal in that fiorentina game (Frey in goal for them was unbelievable that night) we were winning it that year, we'd already beaten the eventual winners in the group stage and rangers drew their way to the final.

Yea d15tin that was another one that got away.I bet that keeper never played another game like that ever. And irony again Jags was one of the lads that missed a pen in the shootout.
-
When he first joined us as a DM I was dismayed. He then turned to CB and became such an important player for us. A great role model and s proper Blue who got us and what we're about. Sorry to see you go Jags but probably the best all round. Once a blue Jags!!!
-
I absolutely love Jags and really sad to see him go.
Watching him shackle Torres, when he was at the top of his game, in the derby was a thing of beauty. He didn't have a clue how Jags was keeping up with him and shutting him down. I do think he was underrated by everyone other than us lot.
I can't see him fitting in at Sheffield United - doesn't Wilder have pacy, attacking centre halves that bomb forward and make crosses? Can't see Jags fitting in there.

Warnock might offer him a couple of years at Cardiff, theyre in contact quite a bit I think
-
Right time for him to leave but it's gutting news all the same, one of my favorite players over the last 10-15 years. Was heartbreaking seeing him get that knee injury a week after being the semi final hero against United, we'd have bloody won that cup as well with him and Lescott rather than Joleon and Joey Yobo
-
also missing without Yakubu and Mikel Arteta in that final --
gonna miss you Jags ......
-
Thanks for the memories. All the very best to you in your next adventure Jags. An Everton legend in every way.
-
I always thought that in is first 5 seasons, until his injury, he was the nearest thing we ever had to Brian Labone.
Not quite in his class, but solid and a great leader.

With talk of another RB coming in - I'd be surprised to see Seamus made captain if it is someone who is real competition. It would be like Baines getting the captaincy last year and Digne playing most of the games.
If that happens - I would not be surprised to see Sigurdsson or even Davies get it. Giving it to Keane may also be a masterstroke of showing a player ultimate faith and allowing him to grow in confidence.
As for Jags - it's 2019 ffs - can we not just clone him?
-
Sad to see him go, always gave 100% and I still can't get over how fast a player he was. Never looked fast but clearly was. A leader and a great example for other players both on and off the pitch as he showed in those last few appearances last season. Wish him only the best.

We wouldn't at all
-
Deffo had a better chance with him in there.
Don’t forget we were missing Arteta as well.

Talk of Celtic as his next stop.
-
I completely forgot he played RB and DM for us and was shite at it. Completely forgot.
-
Would love him to come down to Cardiff and play for Warnock again
-
Talk of Celtic as his next stop.
he'll have plenty of offers on the table, he'd be the best CB in that league if he went to celtic. Likes of Sheff Utd, Villa & Norwich should be approaching him, still a very good defender
-

He deserves to go and win something

He’d be the best CB for the next 4 years at least if he went north of the boarder.
-
Typical dogs of war defender and was very good at it. Was poor in possession though and I think that was the reason we never won anything in those times. Not his fault, we just didn’t have a ball playing centre half next to him.
Wish him all the best. Would do a great job for a team coming up to the Prem.
-
It is now 99% certain that Chelsea want Zouma back and without any identified replacements for him as yet should we not of held onto jags for one more year as a back up to whoever we may sign to replace Zouma ?

Still plenty of mileage in us getting Zouma. Seen the report in the Star. It’s a very wish yeasty piece.

I'm sure we've plenty targets lined up.

Made up for him

Will get the biggest roar at Goodison for a visiting player ever!!
-
Mick Lyons holds that record, when he returned with Sheff Wed
Thought Jags was training with Burnley
-
Pleased for him. Just given an online mouthful to a blades supporter slagging him as he was apparently shite for us. Clueless goon. To be fair all others on said fb post were in agreement with me.

Urgh, it's like seeing your ex with a new fella.

Perfect move for him, hope he has a good time back there.
-
Hope he remembers (once Everton has touched you)when he hacks Bernard down for a penalty then goes on to score an own goal.
Other than that good luck to our once great captain

Anyone else reckon its a bit shit that the highlight of your 12 year career at a club is scoring at Anfield.
-
He was colossus for about 10.5 years out of the 12. I hardly think his career literally boils down to a goal. But yes, it will absolutely be a highlight. In what world would a 25yrd screamer in the top bin from a CB in injury time in a derby not be a highlight?
-
Great signing for Jags and Shef Utd. Think he will be perfect for that level of team, with backs against the wall for the majority of the season. Will add huge experience and character in their dressing room.
-

I get that, I'm talking about our lack of actually winning something. Amazing goal, one of the best we've ever scored at their shithole, personally I prefer his winning penalty in the FA Cup semi against United, absolute limbs everywhere, the injury he got before the final was a massive massive blow to us, he was missed.

Torres for the shite in his pocket was special , and many other forwards are my highlights.
