Title: Wolves v Everton
Post by: blargins on August 06, 2018, 06:47:00 PM
I've never started one of these before, so here goes.

New season starts Saturday then. Who's excited? Who's ready?

Reckon we'll line up like this:

                  Pickford

Coleman  Jags  Keane  Baines

              Schneiderlin

         Gana      Sigurdsson

Walcott         Tosun     Richarlison

Going for a 2-2 draw with another defensive nightmare.

But our new defender will be blooded in the next game to shore things up. I hope.

Really dont like Schneiderlin in the sole DCM role. protecting our current slow centre backs. I would sooner a quicker Gana be terrier like in front of the back 2, than Schneiderlin chasing back 2 yards from their attacker and dragging centre backs out of position with his lack of nouse/pace. With time on the ball, he can be a decent player, but unless theres a huge turnaround in his form I personally think he is a liability as things are. If he has to play Id sooner he be a bit further up the pitch - the same with Sigurdsson from a defensive point of view. Our saving grace is our front 3 - if they take their opportunities they may drag us out of this current squad mess.

Pickford

Keane -------- Jags
Coleman --------------------- Baines

Gana

Schneiderlin ----- Sigurdsson

Walcott --------------------------- Richarlison
Tosun

Maybe Baines will still get a bit of play-time, introducing Digne in slowly. Hopefully we get Mina in, or 1, preferrably 2 CBs in VERY soon. If we do get Mina, at least he would have worked with Digne a fair bit, so will be a slightly easier transition. Wolves are a very solid and drilled unit, we will have to be on our top game to get anything, but with our front 3 I remain optimistic. Be a different story, if we would have secured say Mina, Lascelles a month ago, and everyone was up to speed. REALLY looking forward to the game, but with slightly squeaky bum.

Can't see anything but a defeat I'm afraid. In fact if we win or draw I'll be astonished.

Reckon we'll be fine after this one though and pick up a few wins over the next few games

Can't be going into this season with that centre back pairing. We'd be in danger of wasting a relatively decent set of opening fixtures.

Unfortunately, right now, that's our best (in fact only) option.

Yup - and if we do buy a CB or two, they will have hours to settle in, so probably miss the game. So shoite or not, we dont have much option.

Aye, i highly doubt any centre back we get in now will start against Wolves, so we'll be going with two of the current ones

I'd consider going with Digne at LB due to his defensive reputation but it's not my job to make that call of course so i'll leave that to the pros

Think Digne will start, I actually think even if new players arrive now it's unlikely they'll be thrown straight in so I reckon:

------------Pickford

Coleman Jagielka Keane Digne

---------Schneiderlin

-------Gana Sigurdsson

---Walcott Tosun Richarlison

2-2.

For anyone whose having a bet, something to consider - results against newly promoted teams on the first day of the season:

2-2 Norwich 13/14 (Martinez first game)
2-2 Leicester 14/15
2-2 Watford 15/16
Wolves????

High scoring game.

Excited, hope bith Digne and Richarlison start.

We have enough up front to hurt them so just go for it.

im excited! and ready! was going to go to the wolves ground as its 15 mins away,, but its on tv.. so ill just stay home and watch it instead of being infected with dingles...or the yams.. but i cant complain as im a yamyam anyway :S

if we have a deep back line, thats not playing off side with slow ass players.. i can see us winning this in a pretty high scoring game..

id go for

                  Pickford

Coleman    Jags Mina! Digne

             Besic Gana
                 Siggy

Walcott    Tosun  Richarlison

If Schneiderlin plays, i can see him making a costly mistake, that will lead to Wolves scoring the match winning goal ;/

And you canít see Besic doing that?

History of last season shows that Schneiderlin makes atleast 1 costly error that leads to a goal per match... *maybe slight over statement as sometimes he makes 2 in a match, which means even if in the next match he doesnt make a costly mistake.. it evens out..

and no i dont see Besic doing that, mainly cos he passes forwards, and tackles and doesnt really give up if he gives the ball away... whilst Schneiderlin passes backwards, gives the ball away, then doesnt try to get back.

i know Schneiderlin seems to be a bit more focused during pre season, but again i go on last season. Schneiderlin + Gana is a terrible terrible reoccurring nightmare, as such.. Besic for me its a better person to have alongside Gana..

Wolves are going to be well up for this, and we have a habit of letting teams be all they can be against us. Can see goals from both teams and guess for 2-2.

                 Pickford
Coleman   Keane  Jags   Digne
               Schneiderlin
          Gana             Sig
Walcott       Tosun    Richarlison

Hope we bring in a CB and a CM in the next couple of days. I'd go as far to say Mangala and Mario would plug the gaps temporarily.

So of the 58 goals we conceded last season Schneiderlin was at fault for 38 of them? You don't half chat some absolute shite at times.

And as for Besic, the first thing he did on his debut was backheel the ball to Costa to score a goal. I like the lad but the more you post about him the more I go off him.

If we are starting with the usual shit at the back which we are accustomed to they might just realise that this is the last chance saloon for them as the new regime will be waiting in the wings to take their place, we might just get a performance out of them if this is in fact the scenario

If Wolves play their preferred formation from last season (with three central defenders) Richarlison and Walcott could absolutely wreak havoc.

nah you mis understood what i said Gash. all 58 where his fault.... i know i was being overly dramatic, hence the sarcasm in my above post.

but really.. check last season,. so many of his mistakes (fuck ups trying to pass, passing a shit pass that was intercepted, him getting tackled, his back passing, him doddling back not giving a fuck and not making a tackle; all lead to a huge amount of goals.. im pretty sure if stats where done on how our goals where conceded, Schneiderlin would be number 1)

i know im harsh on Morgan.. ive not been harsh to anyone else.. but he is a disaster, ill keep a tally this season of every match he plays and his fuck up that leads to a goal..ill even change my sig to keep it up to date :D

Yes he looks promising but weíve not seen enough yet to allow proper assessment of his defensive work also.

Always difficult for young players when the initial adrenaline rush of breaking through wears off

CM a hard area to break though in as well. It’s not like a winger where you can say right okay you’ve got 10 mins here, get your man 1 on 1 and skin him, or a striker where you can say put yourself about or whatever; the game’s won and lost in CM, poor quality is exposed on and off the ball.

I agree. But I think I am at the stage with Schneiderlin that I would rather see the tea lady trying her hardest than watching him jog back, uninterested, after losing possession.

Besic is pretty similar in talent and ability in my eyes but I would rather someone tried and didn't make it easy for the opposition and I would risk the odd yellow for that over someone who looks like they are out for a Sunday stroll in the park to walk off their dinner.

Even Baningime will compete more and show energy levels that Schneiderlin could only dream of.

There is no room for any passengers in a PL side.

Nah, you're massively exaggerating as usual. He was poor, no doubting that but the defence behind him was equality as bad, if not worse, to say he contributed to a "huge amount of goals" is just bollocks. If you were blaming every player for the time they gave the ball away, got intercepted or missed a tackle there would be a fairly even spread, in fact I'd be surprised if Rooney wasn't right up there, the amount of miss placed passes he made.

I don't know how accurate Squawka is but they show that he had 84% passing accuracy with an average length of 17 meters and made one defensive error, so there was wasn't a lot of misplaced passes. He doddled a lot in tracking back at times though so not getting back may or may not have contributed to a team scoring but there's still a lot of players behind him that should have done better as well. I'm not saying he was great, or even good but stop going overboard with everything you say.

Good money to be had on both teams scoring in this, you can see a 2-2 or a 3-2 given how good we look going forward and how poor defensively.

Itíd be nice to not concede first

May be more of hindrance than a help initially you usually get newly promoted teams doing well when they first start in the PL, still on a high and a group of previously successful players. Add in loads of new expensive signings who have not had time to gel could be good time to play them.

I think Dedoncker could be one for the future. Think Moutinho could be past his best and may get bullied in the middle of the pitch.

Traore's garbage imo.

He is, but one of my favourite players also.

Literally the best dribbler on the planet. Made 10 assists and got about 5 goals last year in his best ever year, which is OK for championship young player.

Would like to see him make it, because if a few things click for him heís a £50m+ player.

It will play out like so....

Over perform until November. 4 players get linked with a move. All 4 push for the move. Season implodes.

This is what happens with nothing teams donít understand their place in the food chain.

Agreed. Theyíve added quality but itís still the core of players that got them promoted. Theyíre stable, organised and have match-winners and options on the bench. Itís tough playing away to a newly promoted team at the best of times, they only usually get found out 10-15 games in when players start getting injured, suspended etc.

The ground will be bouncing, we need try to manage the game and keep the ball off of them. Hopefully our quality shines through but Iím still worried by our midfieldís ability to give us a platform to build on.

If this game was in 6 weeks time, Iíd be much more confident but I think itís a bit too early for us to go there and expect a result. Iíd take a draw, with signs we can keep possession and that the players understand their duties in Silvaís scheme.

              Siggy  Gana
Walcott    Bernard  Richarlison
                 Tosun

and yes, they would be all very close together if we had Keane and Jagielka as CB's, Tosun on his own on the half way line.. but this time we have pace to support him :D

*i'd rather have Mina, but not sure if fit/lacking match practise.
If Yerry does play,, id have Siggy and Gana abit more ahead of the back four.

I think he's right, our main rivals this season are likely to be Wolves, West Ham, Leicester and maybe Burnley and Fulham. I think we will finish 7th though. If we were to finish 6th Chelsea are the team I think will drop down, they seem to be a bit all over the place going into the new season.

Agreed, although the media hype with every man and his dog jumping on the Wolves bandwagon is tiresome. Massive difference from strolling through Chmpionship winning every week to the rigours of the PL, regardless of who you've bought.

We'll finish comfortably in 7th, hopefully closer to the top 6, can see both Wolves and Fulham looking like world beaters at times but ultimately finishing mid table.

I concur. Away from home, newly promoted side in their first home match back in the PL, with a bunch of new signings to bring along. Plus I doubt whether Pickford will start, as he hasn't got much of a preseason behind him.

That said, I expect to go for the win. None of this "set up ultra-defensive and get zero shots on target all match" nonsense.

Tough one, Wolves were the stand-out performers of the Championship las season, but I feel Fulham have bought better. Added to the promotion high of course.

Leicester in 2013-14 were the last team to top the Championship in similar fashion, and they struggled near the relegation zone and needed a strong finish to get 14th. Newcastle before them, in their yo-yo season in 2009-10, did much the same and finished 12th in their first season back up.

In both cases they finished in the bottom half, improved greatly the following season (Leicester fluking the title; Newcastle 5th).

The best performance by a promoted side in recent years has been West Ham in 2012-13 (10th, after winning the promotion playoff in their yo-yo season in the Championship), and Newcastle last term (same, 10th after going down and coming right back up).

Wolves, and to a lesser degree Fulham, do certainly have some quality and have made what seems to be decent purchases in the transfer market. But recent history suggests they're most likely to finish in the 12-14 range as they consolidate and gain PL experience, then possibly push for greater success and European places the following season.

Realistically, we're in a group with probably Leicester, Burnley, Newcastle, and West Ham maybe, in the for the back end of the top half of the table. Burnley's in Europe, Mike Ashley is still at Newcastle, West Ham has some potential to be decent but also to screw up royally.

Back to this match tomorrow (for me, as I'm in the US), we'll see some form of a 3-4-3/5-4-1 with wingbacks. Assuming we start with Richarlison and Walcott out wide, there may be space to pull one of the three central defenders out of position if their wingbacks get caught up field. That would allow the likes Tosun or a midfield runner to drift in behind, perhaps. Our attackers are at a different level to what they saw in the Championship.

Guessing we get Pickford; Digne, Keane, Jagielka, Coleman; Gana, Schniederlin, Sigurdsson; Richarlison, Tosun, Walcott. Perhaps a late cameo from one of the new boys (Bernard?).

Tosun and Walcott to score, Richarlison and Sigurdsson with the assists. Wolves 1-2 Everton.

Leicester in 2013-14 were the last team to top the Championship in similar fashion...

Not sure what your point is here, apart from the brief history lesson? None of those clubs had the benefit of being able to spend over 100m in the transfer window (Fulham) or being supported by an agent using the club to develop his Champions League standard young players (Wolves), and Wolves are heavily bankrolled too.

Football, and the premier league in particular is a different beast to when those clubs you listed were promoted. And both Wolves and Fulham are being run more like established PL teams rather than newly promoted.

Pickford doesnít need a pre season, heís a goalie and has had a World Cup.

Be tough today. We arenít really quite ready yet and the preseason games have been a bit of a mess. Just got to hope we can battle to positive results the first couple of weeks while everyone gets up to speed. Early goal make knock the stuffing out of wolves but theyíll come into it on a high and if we let them get a foothold it will be an extremely hard game

I'd love us to rock up and spoil their 'definitely finishing Top 10' party with a 3-0 slapdown, but I do think this will be tricky and you'd imagine Neves and Moutinho would give Gana and Schneiderlin a bit of a run around in the middle.

Think if we win, it might need to be an individual masterclass from Richarlison.

If weíre finishing 7th I wouldnít expect more than maybe 5/6 away wins.

Most, if not all, of those will be tight games.

Given itís their first game up, used to winning and full of adrenaline, itís unrealistic to expect an easy win, let alone for it to be a worrying sign.

I think it depends on how they line up. If they have the majority of players who got them promoted playing, then I can see the momentum their way.

If they change things radically, that could play into our hands.

It'll probably be a mixture, so quite unpredictable as to what'll happen then.

For all of the hype about Wolves, I don't feel like enough attention is being given to the fact that they play three centre backs and all of them are making the step up from the Championship.

If one or two of those struggle with the change in quality of opposition, they might have to re-think their whole system. Which would obviously be a huge problem.

Not necessarily. They've mostly done a good job here, one poor bit of set piece defending aside.

I just think it's interesting that, for all of the business they did, they didn't look for an upgrade at one of the most important positions in their system.

Having to sign Boly permanently (he was on loan last season) might have made it difficult but still.

I still think there's a point in this for us, maybe even a chance to steal a win with a good counterattack or set piece. We just need to stay organized (we've done a good job so far) and manage our fatigue (easier said than done).

Silva might consider bringing on Calvert-Lewin for Tosun as he's more likely to make something of the scraps our CF will be feeding off in this second half.

Poor decision or not, this sort of stuff happens. Looking forward to seeing how we deal with it.

Fuming with the red card decision and Jags' tackle, this has been a turning point in the game.

Otherwise we've been doing alright, a lot more positive and a bit more flow to our game compared to last season. Our defence at times still looks a little shaky with that triangle of Keane, Jags and Pickford playing hot potato. Schneiderlin is looking better and Richarlison has done really well however he is walking a real tightrope with his yellow card and some of his actions.

Don't quite know how we go into the second half, if we can get something out of the game at the end with 10 men and a crap ref then Marco Silva is living up to the expectation placed on him.

If the ref believes it to be a foul, then it's a red because he denied a clear goal scoring opportunity. Otherwise it would have been a yellow.

Is it a clear opportunity, though? Yes, he's the last man, but the attacking player doesn't have the ball under control, and the ball is travelling at best parallel to goal if not a bit backward.

For me, he may have won the ball but caught the man on the follow through, in which case you could argue a foul and maybe a yellow. But a red feels very harsh there.

Denying a clear goal scoring opportunity for a straight red would have to be completely swiping the player out with no chance of getting the ball or pulling him back when completely through on goal. That was neither, and a amateur stupid decision.

This is partly why we get these sort of decisions, much like the Niasse retroactive red card last season.

We donít complain loudly enough that anyone cares. Pundits would talk about that decision for a week if it was Man United or Liverpool.

There is no fear that a decision like that comes back to bite them.

Spot on.

Theyíre still going on about Real Madrid, and weíre likely to hear about it all season.

Plenty to be encouraged with, although I think Wolves have been massively overhyped on that showing but like us they'll take time for players to settle. Given that wasn't really much of a new team for us, there's a lot to look forward to when the new players start getting games.

Richarlison was great, not only good up front but work his socks off to get back and defend as well.

Lots of positives today with our general performance, despite going down to 10 men we were positive and created quite a few opportunities to score. Richarlison has been great, I hope he will be fit and ready for the next game. The defending has been a bit better or at least we managed to restrict chances for Wolves.

Looking forward to the next game vs. Southampton, by then we might see a couple more of our new players make an appearance but certainly a few that were playing this evening realise that they need to fight to hold their place and are doing a decent job of it.

Onwards and upwards.

I disagree so much with that.

He did his defensive job well and his movement was generally good too. He could have had two or three big chances if his teammates had made better passes.

Richarlison is bigger, stronger, and better in the air so he's always going to look a cut above in games where we don't have the ball much (and have to pass a little more directly). I still think Walcott did his job well overall.

We did to the other team what teams used to do to use when we played against 10.

An away point against the form side of the Championship on their ground is a decent result. The fact we played well and could easily have come away 3-2 or 4-2 winners with better final passing, makes it all the more pleasing.

In one game, Silva has turned last years mediocrity into hope.

Walcott isn't idle. Players have to start using him. It's criminal the amount of movement he created today, and was totally ignored. He could have scored a couple today with a bit more awareness from the players around him. Bernard will light him up like a firework. Decent result 2-2. Jags wasn't even a foul, and if it hadn't been for the sending off, we would have strolled that. Wolves are in for a hard ride.  :)

Pickford should do better with the free kick and Iím not even sure it was one.

Only seen it briefly on a replay on a phone aside from the live incident but Iím not even sure it was a foul.

Taking that into account we should really have won the game.

Work to do on controlling the ball in midfield but perfectly ok, overall considering all circumstances.

There are plenty of examples of players with limited ability but have a happy knack of scoring goals. With the strike-force we are assembling there won't be as much pressure on Cenk and he may flourish. Anyway we can't do anything until January so he will have a chance to prove himself.

The thing with Tosun is; he thrived at Besiktas with a couple of decent quality european strikers as competition. They were both known names as well. They came in to replace him, which they did. When he got another chance though, they couldn't get in the side. Tosun will improve. How much? Is the question only he can answer. He's a good striker to have on the squad- team wise, as I'm pretty sure he's not a trouble maker.

He needs someone to compete against like the rest of the squad. We will sign strikers in the next couple of transfer windows without a doubt because without competition, in any profession, people become stale and lacking ambition

An upgrade on Tosun would be big Rom. Thatís the levels we are now talking about so very difficult. Tosun is a very good striker, and will score us a good amount this season given opportunities

Yes an obvious upgrade.

Anyone in the middle of those two will be expensive and risky.

As an aside itís crazy when the media have a narrative and try and push it regardless of all else.

I appreciate they too have players coming in but I saw one pundit who had Wolves finishing 7th this season. Maybe they will but itíll mean a lot of other teams were pretty poor. Going by that game Wolves look pretty bang average, especially considering they were at home too.

The thing with Tosun is; he thrived at Besiktas with a couple of decent quality european strikers as competition. They were both known names as well. They came in to replace him, which they did. When he got another chance though, they couldn't get in the side. Tosun will improve. How much? Is the question only he can answer. Poor options at CB and what will be a powder puff CM when the slog kicks in and teams like Watford trample all over them.

No obvious style other than use of the wing backs but lots of straight balls over the top that were poor.

I think Tosun is ok for where we are right now.  We're obviously building up some talent in attacking areas and hopefully having someone like him who's main strength is his finishing will work well this season.  He's not top level, but he's certainly not a bad option at all.  I actually thought he did well today overall - yes, he should have done better with the big chance he had whether that was burying it or playing Walcott in, but it was only last week people were creaming themselves about his finishing against Valencia.

Overall though loads of positives today.  Amazing how what was essentially the same team can look so much better with a bit of organisation and a plan.  Richarlison obviously made a big difference, but generally I thought we played pretty well.

Gueye would seem to be under threat for me.

Doesnít get as many steals as when he first came and doesnít have a tenuous benefit to go forward.

Getting someone in the middle who can take the ball under pressure and not just go straight back will open up the pitch much more.

I thought we were very good today, with some better decision making in one or ttwo situations -even with 10 men- we could easily have won this game.

Baines and Coleman were superb, Keane looked composed at the back but jumped to early for the 2nd. Tosen did easier things a little poorly but worked hard and created opportunities, richarlison was superb. Bags, I love him but......
Pickford was poor first half.

With more gelling and new players to come in, we will entertain and push for things this season. Thank fuck after the last 18months!

On a different day, we score 5 there. Coleman, Tosun, and Richarlison all missed pretty clear chances to send a man through on goal/set up a tap in. Maybe the conditions, coupled with first-game jitters, had something to do with that.

The Jagielka foul is a questionable red, but the ref's not done himself any favours with his decisions throughout. Booking Richarlison early then failing to book a Wolves player not 5 minutes later for similar contact, completely missing the spot by six yards(!) on the Neves FK goal, failing to spot an obvious foul throw that would have given us a throw at the corner flag...

Well played in general, and a point away from home against what we're led to believe is a mid-table side after going down to 10 men n the first half is something I'll take.

I just donít think Tosun should be exempt from scrutiny just because he didnít cost £50m. It should be acceptable to point out the flaws in his game. Iím sure weíll replace him given time but until such time I think heíll be a weak link in an otherwise decent attacking threat now.

Pickford should do better for the goal, but blaming him completely is very disingenuous to Neves. Not only does he put some great pace on the ball to smash it into the top corner, but the way he disguises his run up is superb. He shapes like he's going over the wall, which is why Pickford takes that little step to his right. It's a great free kick when you take all aspects into consideration. You also have to give credit for the stealing of 5 yards, very sneaky and it paid off.

Just watched the match again.

Pleased with the performance. Deserved to win that but individual mistakes need to be ironed out if we want to have a good season.

People probably going to say itís me and I donít like Jags but thatís a red card all day sadly. Studs showing and catches him on the ankle. Could easily break his leg there.

Again itís me and Pickford but he was pretty poor today. Should never be beaten 3 yards from his original position. Poor keeping sadly.

He could do nothing about the 2nd goal, good cross and finish.

Thought Schneiderlin was very good today. Close to MoM behind Richarlison who was outstanding. Pretty imposing figure physically as well. We going to love him here.

Thought we were excellent, and I'm hugely optimistic about the future. Not Top 6 this season optimistic, that would be silly, but certainly excited by the quality of football and quality of player we've got to come in.

Thinking back a week or so, some people were talking about the team in meltdown, whispers of relegation battles and shambolic pre-seasons.

Thought we played superbly. Possibly a bit hard done by with the red, but responded superbly, cut through them a number of times with 10 men, and just lacked the killer touch.

Really optimistic that we might take advantage of a favourable early run of fixtures, after that display, given that we were still stuck with the same CB's and without a lot of the new lads.

The top sides always stand on a free kick to delay it or argue the position same with throwings, buys time when under pressure, trouble is it's annoying as fuck but it works and we could have done with us doing that kind of thing yesterday, although it might go against the grain a bit we could have got the 3 points and pissed some pundits and the ref off..

I couldnít see the Everton of last season getting anything out of that game after the sending off and it was encouraging to see us keep trying to attack instead of going full on defensive.

After a poor pre season I was pleased to see Keane have a much better game (second goal aside), I know he has his limitations but I really think itís more of a confidence issue with that lad and hopefully Marco can use his man-management skills and help him there.

After a poor pre season I was pleased to see Keane have a much better game (second goal aside), I know he has his limitations but I really think itís more of a confidence issue with that lad and hopefully Marco can use his man-management skills and help him there.

Really liked the way Marco whilst giving instructions to Mason was also giving him encouragement before he came on.

I was wondering that but think it was Baines.

I am going to try and stay positive . Decent result against a newly promoted team with plenty of quality about it and given they are nearly all Portuguese a good team spirit . Pleased with Richarlisons effort and I won't even moan about his price anymore after Chelsea broke the world record for someone I had not even heard of . We need to get the new players in the team as the failings of Keane and the age of Jags were the reasons behind their goals . Nothing at all wrong with Jags for lots of the games we will play but they are a young energetic side and he only needed to make that one poor decision that he wasn't quick enough to recover . There were also the usual gaps in midfield at times so be good to see Gomes get up to fitness soon .

One of the jobs as captain is to protest to the referee to make sure free kicks for the opposition in dangerous areas don't get relocated to the advantage of the other team. No one else stepped up. They were too busy thinking about the sending off!! It was moved forward about 5m in my estimation to just outside the half-circle. OK, Pickford was deceived by the player looking at the other side of the goal and took a step the wrong way, but allowing the kick to be taken from that position was also a serious mistake for the referee and the team. It made scoring their goal just that much easier.

Let's hope the team gives more attention to this in the future!

(Apart from that, it was a good performance, under the circumstances:-)

To be fair, Richarlison and Baines were arguing with the referee to move the free kick back, but he just ignored them.
Don't think it was shown on most of the highlights shows.

The top sides always stand on a free kick to delay it or argue the position same with throwings, buys time when under pressure, trouble is it's annoying as fuck but it works and we could have done with us doing that kind of thing yesterday, although it might go against the grain a bit we could have got the 3 points and pissed some pundits and the ref off..
...................Rooney did a bit of that for us last season

He learned from the master, would prefer it if the officials had it sorted but they don't so we have to get wiser, which i think we will.

Richarlison walked up to the exact spot, but it needed a clutch of our senior, English speakers to really hammer home the point, and risk a booking if need be.
