It's tactical. We want to get the crowd on their back. It's only 15 minutes in.

The formula is simple.

We pass the ball between the centre backs as if to say "come and get the ball". Arsenal's forwards don't press the ball. Arsenal's fans get frustrated with their team. This benefits us. The game opens up gradually.

You don't go to the Emirates and play gung-ho. YOu'll lose.

Don't understand why people are moaning.

People's moaning is a reflection on our season so far rather than this performance.

This is exactly how we played in this game last season. Largely passive possession and we didn't really look like scoring. People were pulling themselves off in ecstasy then.

Arsenal have scored.....Oh well at least we arewinning the possession and backwards passing stats.

I wonder if that was in Martinez's gameplan

YOu really need to lose that chip off your shoulder. You're moaning for the sake of moaning.

You realise there are two teams in this game? And that we're away to a team that is considerably above us in the table?and that they can play their football as well?

Of course it's not his gameplan to concede from a set piece you passive aggressive tit.

Try a reply without insult next time if you want to have a disscussion - its called a forum for a reason and im not one of the ultra negative people but we deserved that.

Arsenal were there for the taking first 20 mins, yet everytime the option was on to move the ball forward quickly, we turned and played a sidewards or backwards 'safe' pass to keep possession.  All that nothing possession has let Arsenal settle and come back into it. A bit more attacking intent could have resulted in us getting a goal and forcing Arsenal to open up, making it a more open game.

Now Arsenal will watch us play it round slowly, press us in their half and counter.

The insult was a reaction to your sarcy digs.

A more open game suits Arsenal. They are a better footballing side than us and they're at home. I don't understand why they're there for the taking just because they lost to Monaco in midweek - a team that use a very negative game plan.

I think it would be counter-productive to have gone on the attack from the off. Given that Arsenal are presumably low on confidence after midweek, and their notoriously intolerant crowd, it doesn't strike me as unreasonable to try and kill the game and take the crowd out of it. It's now too late because we failed to defend a set piece.
