I don't think it's that harsh to be honest, he stretched and you can see the player's ankle turn on impact and his studs are up. Poor touch, he should never have put himself in that position.

Never ever ever ever a red card. Absolutely appalling decision from the ref. He went for the ball and missed very slightly. It wasn’t dangerous play and if you give those decisions then you could send someone off once or twice a game. Utterly fuming
